  1. Yeah, my sister mentioned the guy she spoke to said he was an ex-copper, as if that carries any weight. She works with the police on a daily basis in her job, so I don't think she was particularly impressed. Hopefully, he's clocked that he's taken a wrong turn and that'll be the end of it.
  2. The company is Eminent Investigations Limited. I'm not going to take any further action at the moment, unless they try and contact me or my family again.
  3. I don't actually have the details on hand at the moment, so I'll have to get in touch with my sister to get them.
  4. He has contacted my mother and my sister via the phone and appears to have my mother's address. My sister asked him what he wanted, and it appears that he is trying to track down someone who has a similar name to me and whose wife has a similar name to my sister (although she has a different middle name). She did not give him any information about my whereabouts. It is in regard to an unpaid debt to the tune of thousands of pounds. I am still in contact with all my creditors and am not in trouble with them, and there is no way that I have incurred any debt with anyone else, so this is clearly a case of mistaken identity. The person he is looking for's last known address is a place where I have never lived. According to my sister, his manner was very intimidating, as he fired off a load of questions before he even revealed who he was. I think he is legit as he has given his number and the name of the company he's working for. Since he contacted my sister, he has repeatedly attempted to phone her, but she has now blocked his number. I do not want to be contacted by this person, as he clearly has no lawful business with me or my family. As I have long term mental health issues, the thought of the possibility of being under surveillance is somewhat distressing, although I'm keeping calm about it for the moment. I'd be grateful if someone could give me some advice on how to deal with this person, assuming he hasn't already moved on with his investigation:|
  5. I've just read the new T&C and I find them disgusting. I hope the other banks aren't following suit, because I really want to move to another bank now. Hopefully, these new terms will drive enough customers away to make them reconsider. I think I might go and get a Post Office account as soon as possible.
  6. Hi, I'm thinking about about reclaiming charges from Lloyds. I was well aware of the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contract cases, but I've only just found out about the Social Security Administration Act s187. I was pretty angry before, and now I'm livid. How far can I claim back under this act? I have been on Income Support for nearly 10 years due to mental illness, and have many a time been put in very difficult circumstances by mounting charges - often for several months. The DWP started paying my giro straight into my bank in Jan 2004. Would it be possible to claim charges before this date, as it might be more difficult to prove?
  7. Hi, I've only recently found out about the refunding of unlawful bank charges. I've been unempoyed for several years, and the bank(Lloyds TSB) have been bleeding me dry. My benefits barely cover my living expenses, so getting charged £30 or so for going over my overdraft by £10 is just ridiculous. Once they've charged me, I can't get my overdraft back in order, so they charge me again and again and again. I've really had enough. They're going to charge me another £97 in a week or so. I really do not know where to start with reclaiming the charges, so I would be really grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. I want to be as well-informed as possible before I take action, so I don't encounter any unpleasant surprises.
