  1. I agree, its not like they dont know where you live, you recieve letters stating you have been charged often enough!!
  2. I notice it says send these to the branch and the branch will forward these onto the correct department, lol think of the branch as the shop. Can't help you with alot but send it onto the correct people.
  3. Hi Andy, Yes im in the same situation as you. Just finished college in Somerset. I'm now working full time but over xmas was made redundant and Natwest enjoyed charging me alot of money. Now im in a better job but obviously can't pay back £1,017 in charges straight away like they are asking. I have just sent off my Data Protection Request recieved 6.7.06, they have 40 days to reply and this is both my accounts as it covers my name not just the one account i request info for. Make sure you send it special delivery not recorded as you get proof of signature. Oliver
  4. They are very quick to take the money from us but very slow to return the favor. I sent my Data Protection letter in and was recieved 6.7.2006. Hmmmm hoping they just send it all.
  5. Your joking, I would like to get information from the bank on security of sent items in the post and if they are leaking in the mail would persue if this was a breech at their end if the envolope was unsuitable as it is OUR PERSONAL information in the post leaking! Keep us updated. Oli
  6. Hi, yes i did the same thing by sending my Data Protection off to Natwest but to the local branch and i assume that this will be forwarded onto the relevant department, I addressed it to the Data Protection Officer and requested all information they hold on me and mentioned bank statements i also included photocopy I.D to verify who i am. I won't be doing it via recorded again although it has been delivered i have to pay £2.20 on Royal Mail to get the signiture.!!!!
  7. Thanks, yes they have no regard for our personal situations which I find so unfair. Isn't it funny how they click their fingers on some things mostly when money goes to them but then when you have a problem they can't help! Reading the forum is helping me a great deal. With these charges has made me go into a downward spiral of debt so im hoping to get these charges back. Pitty i can't get them for all the problems they are now causing me even though aren't directly linked. Oliver
  8. I have just sent my Data Request into natwest and have had my personal account since around 2001. I remember when i was 15-17 I was charged alot for overdrafts and failed Direct Debits, being a student back then and they offered me a consolidation loan at a cost which i did not realising. By looking at the above i guess this is wrong and not on as the charges should of been refunded??
  9. Hey all, Well I have just started with Natwest, I have a joint account with them and a personal account of which I have had from 2001 and Joint Account since 2005. On my personal account I did have a student overdraft which I paid off in full in Dec 05 of £2,000. My joint account was used for billing by my flat mates at my flat. This went wrong when I left the flat and caused Direct Debits to fail. I was also made redundant over Xmas 05/06 so was unable to clear this amount until March time. I have since been pumping in monthly £120 to the joint account, Natwest have been charging me around £85 monthly for this although i have advised them I will be paying the amount back in full and am currently in contact with Debt Management companies. I find this very annoying, every month I try my best to pay off these debts and they charge me despite my letters asking them to freeze my charges which they don't. I have sent in my Data Protection letter asking if I could have all information on the two accounts, would you think they will do this, I understand the data act to be to the persons name not to individual accounts???? I will be claiming my charges back from my personal account back to six years and joint account which over 8 months is about £570. I need the statements for my personal account to claim. Fingers crossed with all this, have just sent a claim into Barclays. Oliver
