  1. I don't want to listen to your put downs any more dx - I'll just take a pass on this forum now Thanks to all others for their advice but the sort of commentary from above is exactly the problem with the attitude of people in this country and I'm sick of it
  2. I'm starting to wonder - all the pointers are there through my whole life I guess the moral of the story is for that from now on I don't go out anywhere socially anymore - I'll just live as a hermit which I pretty much do anyway most of the time these days I've got tickets for a gig in Amsterdam next year so I'm sure the people there won't be as uptight as this dump - going forward though I'm really done with British culture and people - just avoid them and I won't be further disappointed going forward Maybe one day I can go and live in Happy Holland again..
  3. But if it turns out to be discrimination then that changes things If I have video evidence of being threatened by one of them also
  4. I did nothing wrong - They are seriously out of order - I will not be let this go If all I've got are straws I will clutch them until they refund me Do I have a straw to clutch with the bar opening statement or not?
  5. Of course never any discrimination against single white guys on their own Didn't see or read anything about the bar being open or closed - but amid all the legalese from these pages they've probably covered themselves to act however they like I'm guessing I didn't see anything about bar closing times on either of the terms and conditions from Queen's Hall or Alt-Tickets alt. tickets ::: Terms & Conditions (alttickets.com) On the Queen's Hall Website all I could find was the following - but I also note that at the top of this page is says we must abide by these to use the website but nothing about entering the venue ? Terms & Conditions | The Queen's Hall (thequeenshall.net)
  6. Bank says they can't raise a Charge Back because I entered the venue - what a load of crap - I'm seriously done with the nightlife industry in this country not one more penny of my money will be going there ever again !
  7. What am I supposed to argue is the reason for me claiming a refund then ? Closing the bar during a set is complete b.s I'm paying for a night out I expect a bar to be open for the full duration of my attendance ! If the reason for doing this is to prevent trouble then that sure worked well on Sunday night, didn't it.. Bottom line here is I paid to see a performance and was forcefully ejected for no good reason and missed it all - they now owe me a refund I talked to someone online from VISA and they told me I must contact my bank I took out insurance on this ticket too so maybe I can claim something there
  8. That works on Debit cards right ? I'll write to them and demand a refund first and tell them if I they don't reimburse me I'll do that - I think it was through a ticket site I bought the ticket though I'm so disappointed in RT - he was really out there in the early days but seems to have turned into some kind of prima donna wanting the doors shut and the bar closed after he takes to the stage - what the hell am I paying £40 quid for to go and see a live act and stand waiting for the last hour and a half waiting for another pint ? it was my one night one in a blue moon - I want to get a bit drunk and have fun and dance and sing - £6+ for a pint in a flimsy plastic tumbler as well If I'm quite honest I'm never going for a night out in Edinburgh again - it's just nothing but attitude from the bar staff or thugs on the door - I often like to just go out on my own and meet people and that works well in places like Holland but over here if you're a single white guy on his own especially my age then you really are discriminated against and this doesn't only apply to the venue currently in question I've had this before at a folk gig actually - Boo Hewerdine - another one that had the bar closed for his set - didn't bother me too much that time as I didn't feel like drinking anyway - I think I'll just swerve folk concerts in the future As for RT - I saw a few acoustics ones - sound wasn't great in there and then after that I don't even know if he came on with a full band and played some of his more rocky bluesy ones which I was hoping for too
  9. Disgusted at the treatment I received in Edinburgh last night for Richard Thompson gig - never seen him live and looked forward to this opportunity for years and all I got to see was about 3 songs before I was forcefully ejected from the premises by their security thugs (some of whom were being quite threatening towards me) - now I've missed this opportunity and might never get another chance They cited the reason as being it was RT's management who requested I be refused entry - because I was allegedly heckling him Slight hyperbole there I think as all I did was call out in between songs something about why the bar was closed at the start of the performance (upon request from RT) The very idea of that - after I've paid good money to come for a night out and go and see some live music the least I expect is to be able to go and buy a pint ! The assault and discrimination was filmed and I will be passing this on to the police whom I have already reported assault to - but they said what I expected them to that "the venue is within their rights" bla bla - not if it's blatant discrimination Also not if the reasons stated are bogus - I can understand if I was being egregiously disruptive to the show but I simply wasn't in any way - just a little bit of audience participation and in between songs ? Big Deal ! So the least these disrespectful bullies can do is return the cost of the ticket as I did not see any of the performance other than a few songs at the start - how do I go about that (other than just writing to them and demanding a refund) ? .. I am so done with this culture that on the basis of this I have decided that I am never going out again in this country - I've got tickets for a gig in Amsterdam next year and everywhere in Europe in general is just more friendly and civilised so I'm looking to emigrate also probably
  10. That's what it says NOW Andyorch - but it was £3 per month when I signed up (seemed like a good deal and a better alternative to Etsy) They bumped all the fees up >300%. I think this was the plan - to lure people to sign up in the run up to Xmas and then Boom! Up goes the price. I don't think this is the first time they've done thie either judging by the reviews. They have refunded me now though and I have told them where they can stick it Interested to know where "the consumer" stands legally on issues like this? "Always read the small print" If a company states that they can change fees etc are they allowed to just whack them up as much as that, without even informing their subscribers?
  11. Numonday are a UK based alternative to Etsy that (appear to) offer a better service Opened an account with them 1 month ago at £3 per month Price gets bumped up to £10 per month (without informing me) Down the bottom in the Terms Of Use: Terms of Use | Numonday "2. Numonday retains the right to modify the legal terms and fee policy at any time without notice." Does "fee policy" include the amount? Whether they are legally in the right or this behaviour from them is downright unethical and tantamount to fraud (in my view) If they fail to refund me (which I am expecting because this is what others have said and they just suspended me from their facebook account) where do I stand?
  12. As expected, mum is getting more letters from them. This is the 3rd letter just arrived (2nd one came a few weeks ago and was tossed into a drawer while I was there and I forgot to look at it) Of course, she is getting worried about it and I've told her what you guys said, ie. they don't know who the driver was and therefore because Scottish law they're stuffed - so just carry on ignore and don't worry Just posting this up for your records - I'm sure if there is anything to worry about someone will let me know. Cheers. park charge letter 3pdf.pdf
  13. BB on the way now apparently - easy as that? Late dad used to have a BB for a heart condition but one time they were difficult in renewing so I’m told.. Anyway - see you far you get with your court action threats (incoming) now you pesky blinders
  14. BB online application done - so wait and see - at least it’s worth applying for if this does ever go to court which it won’t
  15. I think GP’s or some medical authority need to get involved in the application process for a BB - I’ll push her to get that done but ultimately it’s her decision. She gets some injection every 6 months but I think that’s as often as she can get it because they contain steroids or something I’m not sure. Possibly considering a knee replacement op for the long term - but these things can take a long time and with the current backlog in the NHS she isn’t holding her breath
  16. I noticed at Tesco yesterday there were signs up saying something along the lines they are providing the disabled parking bays for BB holders - but it stopped short of stating exclusivity or requesting badges to be displayed My mum looked into this - late dad used to have one so she knows the procedure - she said something about one criterion for eligibility being that you can’t walk more than 50m unassisted or something - which she can but in her circumstances (until she can get another injection from her GP) any walking she does causes pain and she takes paracetamol most days for it - and also as you’d expect the more walking she does the more pain she ends up in at the end of the day which often means she struggles to get around the house I’ll see if I can get her to apply anyway but she says the eligibility criteria have got stricter in recent years
  17. That all sounds very reassuring and scenario 4. In above post registered with my brain previously - something about the key thing being knowing who the driver is. Many thanks again - I will make sure my mum knows 1. Not to engage in any communication with the bandits and 2. Don’t lose any sleep over it
  18. Thanks FTM Dave for taking the time to explain the situation a bit clearer - a better way to focus your energy than insulting my intelligence. I know you guys are busy and are under no obligation to help people and do so out of the goodness of your hearts, but shorthand responses full of acronyms I’ve never heard of before along with perhaps the assumption that I am even aware of how the fundamental dynamics around getting a parking fine from a private company work just lack the clarity I need to get my head round the situation here - something I’ll need going forward when my mum phones me up worried about a follow up letter she is going to receive? I read that thread which was posted previously and got the jist etc - I will look over it again in case there is anything I missed I’ve never heard of the fopa2012 act - I looked at it on the gov website but I couldn’t work out what relevance it has here because I have no idea what “tort of freedom” means. I still don’t now whether to expect a NTK - I guess it has to be within 14 days in Scotland but it doesn’t apply anyway because I’m in Scotland and neither does the PCN they sent because the fopa2012 doesn’t apply in Scotland - have I got those bits right? Maybe it’s anyone’s guess whether they then send an NTK? Somebody mentioned Scotland’s right to roam laws - I am aware of the basic workings of that - that we are free to walk onto private land (within reason) but if the owner requests that we leave we have to or we can be arrested for trespass then. No one came and asked us to leave, therefore the fopa2012 bla bla bla (UK law) legalese legalese is overruled by this law (devolved Scottish law) Am I on the right tack there? Hey dx100uk - maybe if I’m not entirely following what you guy’s are saying it’s because you’re not explaining things properly, or you’re assuming knowledge some of us might not have? The sticky you keep referring me to (which I did read and digest) didn’t explain the situation properly to me - a total noob to the parking ticket world. I don’t mean to say these things to insult you or anyone here - it’s just feedback. VParking Cowboys have some kind of mini Wikipedia style section that explains everything in detail in plain English to the layman - I found it helpful anyway and intend to go back to read some more when I have the time. Think about what I say, or not but I mean no disrespect to the site by speaking candidly Thanks to all for the advice and help
  19. Ignore and forget - copy Thing is it’s my mum who will have to do that going forward as she receives further letters, so I’m trying to wrap my head around the whole thing - need to read more of that Parking Cowboys site later so I can explain to her exactly when why she doesn’t need to worry the next times she receives more bog roll from them
  20. So they’re supposed to issue an NTK within 14 days for an ANPR - but they issued a PCN instead - which means they’ll automatically lose any court action on that alone if they decide to take things that far which they probably won’t? (Unless they also issue an NTK?) It’s not clear to me in the sticky when it says the “NTK must be received within 14 days” whether that means they are obligated to send one - however I think (from what you are saying) that this is a legal requirement for issuing parking fines via ANPR? Should we expect an NTK in the post at some point in the coming days then?
  21. Reading a site called Parking Cowboys - on the page about Notice To Keeper it says they can send them out if a windscreen parking ticket remains unpaid or ANPR - doesn’t say anything about time limits Are you saying an NTK will arrive later? Not sure what your saying but it sounds like you are saying they don’t have the right to issue a PCN within 14 days? Maybe I’ll send a bill to Premier Parking for all the time I’m having to spend reading up on how my mum can just legally ignore them
  22. Copy that I will sort out the questionnaire later cheers Ok then here is the questionnaire you asked me to fill in - if it helps with what you are doing to build a case against this or whatever then the least I can do is oblige However I have no clue what an NTK is so if someone can please enlighten me then I can complete the form properly - otherwise this is it with a one page PDF because I’m confined to an iPad currently and I struggle a bit with Apple’s weird iOS - I’ll post the back page in the next post (in PDF format as requested) I’m sure NTK is really obvious but for some reason my brain isn’t connecting on that one - I tried a quick search and got “Need To know” so I figured I’d just come back and ask - I couldn’t see anywhere in the post explaining acronyms but maybe I didn’t look properly Otherwise, here you go: Please answer the following questions. 1 Date of the infringement 10/9/22 2 Date on the NTK [this must have been received within 14 days from the 'offence' date] What’s an NTK 3 Date received 12/9/22 4 Does the NTK mention schedule 4 of The Protections of Freedoms Act 2012? [Y/N?] I don’t see anything in the letter if that what’s “NTK” refers to? 5 Is there any photographic evidence of the event? Yes Have you appealed? [Y/N?] post up your appeal] No 6. Have you had a response? [Y/N?] post it up N/A 7 Who is the parking company? Premier Park 8. Where exactly [carpark name and town] Braehead Shopping Centre, Glasgow For either option, does it say which appeals body they operate under. BPA I noticed the post defines NTK as Notice To Keeper in the section that doesn’t apply to me which I didn’t read - unfortunately I’ve still no idea what that means so I can only assume I haven’t received one of these in which case why is the questionnaire asking me what date?
