  1. For the windows 8 download an ISO 32bit or 64bit depending on the laptop processor, May say so on the COA on the back which version it is. Burn the ISO to disk and boot from it and choose repair, if that don't work you may be able to do a system restore in advanced repair settings. Loads of windows ISO floating around the net, No need for serial number for repair, Just ensure any ISO you download is untouched. George
  2. They should have business insurance to cover them if they damage a customers property. I would give them notice that unless they make good on their mistake so your not out of pocket and the phone is returned to its state when they received it (at least unlocked to any network so customer has a choice of which sim card he uses) you will take them to court. Should be a simple claim, phone is obviously not in the same condition it was received in, it has been activated by them without your authorization and you now have to pay out £ to unlock it. That amount will be your claim amount. Give them 7 or 14 days to reply and then send off an LBA (Letter Before Action) to them, may make them realise they have to fix their mistake. George
  3. If the company are offering you the fees for the unlocking I can't see what the problem is, The phone can be unlocked by code rather than jail-broken so no warranty issues and the phone will work as normal with any sim card. Accept the unlocking offer and start to use your new phone George
  4. Hi thanks for the reply. He said he has not had anything from Npower since the switch over, He knows he owes them for what he has used but no bills or letters sent. It could be his old age and forgetfulness though so I am planing a trip over to his house to double check hes not just placed any letters anywhere and forgot about them. George
  5. I always thought that since he is no longer a customer of theirs they have no powers to disconnect or change to a prepaid meter. Either way I will be fighting these ****ers all the way on his behalf. George
  6. Thanks for the reply, Have already emailed Npower explaining they have no rights as he is no longer a customer, See if they reply to it. George
  7. Hi all, Posting this on behalf of my father who today received a hand delivered letter from Meterplus with a big orange sticker claiming" Disconnection Notice Gas/Electricity. My father recently moved suppliers from Npower to E-on and the Disconnection Notice is from Npower where there is a balance of £300+ owing. He moved his duel fuel supply to E-on in Oct 2013 and has received his first bill from them. My father is getting on and rather forgetful lately but this has scared him somewhat. I have tried to assure him that Npower can't disconnect him as they are no longer his supplier but even after a google search I am not sure myself. Can anyone offer any advice or confirm that Npower can't carry out the disconnection or meter change to a token meter. Thanks George
  8. Paypal transfer to Bank accounts are now instant and sent through faster payments. It actually states when making the transfer funds should be available within 2 hours but in 50+ transfers I have made its always been straight away. You should have made the purchase through EBay as now its a private sale with no protection. I would contact the seller and ask for delivery confirmation and if he still claims a waiting period I would then make a chargeback on paypal and my bank (although the bank may be a problem since you made a bank transfer) but then that would be a matter for the police. Hope that the guy is genuine and you get what you bought. Word of advise never deal outside EBay unless in person and your getting the goods there and then and can check them out to your satisfaction, even then you have no cover if anything goes wrong with the item. George
  9. If the size of screen isn't an issue I would recommend looking at the Nexus 7 range. You can now pick up the older 1st gen models for £140 and the newer models for £199. I have had both version of the Nexus 7 and the 2nd gen is far better and does everything I ask of it without laggy response times, Will do everything your daughter requires from a tablet. The limited storage on the Nexus 7 range is easily solved with a USB stick and USB OTG Cable, Lets the Nexus 7 see the memory stick connected and read/write to it. George
  10. Hi Guys, It was under these clauses 4.4.5.0 / 4.4.5.1 / 4.4.5.2. All these new terms and conditions now have something in them regarding the phone but since T-Mobile are not arguing over the actual phone just the termination fee they have lost which is most likely the reason why they have not took legal action. I would be delighted if they took legal action as I could get this matter solved once and for all with a counter claim for the ruining of my credit file, Loss of credit etc.. I have direct proof that they were informed under those clauses of what I would be paying and under those clauses my services should not have been suspended. If I failed under those clauses they can terminate without notice, So can I when they fail which is what I did. Not too clued up on contract law but if one side has a right to terminate then so does the other which is what I did and under those clauses that is without the termination charge which T-Mobile say I owe. Have the matter in hand, Recorded Delivery receipts proving delivery and receipt, Just waiting for the ICO to make them send the rest of my SARS, Mainly my letters I sent them as they will be dated when received. George P.S So far I have only seen 02 with the new contracts for both the network and the phone, the phone now comes under the CCA if you get it from 02. Broken down in 2 parts, Network Tariff and phone cost so no free phones from 02.
  11. The spreading the cost for the phone has only recently been brought in, 02 and others now provide the phone on a credit agreement with a separate charge for the phone and the mobile service contract. Was a little more complicated than how your wording it. T-Mobile breached our agreement, I have proof just waiting to also prove that they were informed in writing. Under the terms that were breached T-Mobile had the right to terminate the agreement without any notice, since they T-Mobile breached our agreement I terminated the contract but gave them notice. It did start out as clarification of the said none direct debit charges which in T-Mobiles own greedy way cost them dearly and will be even more when I get them in court. They claim I owe them £400 but so far no letters, DCA etc.. trying to chase this up because they T-Mobile know I am correct and just been arses trashing my credit file as that is all they can do. I would love them to try court where I can finally get this mess sorted out and make them pay for the 5 months of trashing my credit file, loosing me a new contract phone and higher interest loans. George
  12. Nowhere as yet. Never returned the phone since that was FREE when I took out the contract. Was a little bit more complex than just the admin fee for none DD. Currently with the ICO as they have failed on my SARS, Need some letters I sent them back with the date received on them then I'm just going to take them to court. Currently trashing my credit file but no more DCA been in touch asking for anything and just received £10 back from them, Must have been from my SARS and after ICO been in touch. Will keep this updated as I will not let them get away with it until my credit file is cleared. George
  13. Was shocked the other day in supermarket at price for a 20 packet of cigs (I smoke baccy) but saw the price on the shelf when she opened the sliding door hiding the nasty things away. £8.10 for a packet of 20. Wish they would just ban all smoking, then no matter what everyone will stop. As if that will ever happened, too much money made on em . George
  14. Not an expert but sure some will be along some time today to confirm. Fees are definitely wrong, Without access or a levy I believe the most payable is for 2 visits total £42.50. That is a big jump from £112.00 to £441.04, You need to ask how the balance has increased by £329.04. Since you have already paid the council direct I don't think there is much he can do now but all the same these people are law to themselves, so best advice is don't let them in and move any vehicle away from the home. You on the other hand can make a complaint on the over charging and incorrect fees charged. George
  15. You really need to get a letter off to head office for a full investigation. If as you say only one missed payment then the arrears should be really low and not £700, Sounds like the collectors where actually collecting for themselves. I would personally get a letter in to head office, 1: You want a full investigation and audit of your account 2: No more collectors at the door, Refuse until this is sorted out 3: Token payment of £1 per loan via standing order until the investigation is sorted If you need help with a letter let me know will knock you one up. George
  16. Terrible situation and should not have happened. You will have no choice but to take them to court, Money back for destroyed cigs and cost for return travel to re-purchase, Hotel costs and any other expenses you incur due to their mistake. Have a look here: http://nothing-2-declare.blogspot.co.uk/ Some guy on here had a similar problem with 50k cigs and they was destroyed, He won in court and got an unspecified amount (closure deal). George
  17. V2 Mega with Coffee and Berry Mix, Coffee is a little too strong for me but the Berry Mix is nice. Still smoking though, although I have dropped a few packets a week now. George
  18. Wells seems like this lovely NHS service is now everywhere. Mother-in law is currently in hospital and very ill, confused and unsure of where she is but still left sitting on a commode alone, Wife found her learning forward almost out of the chair, Not one person keeping their eye on her. Another elderly woman in next bed had an accident (number 2) in bed, wife heard nurse saying not to worry and just wiped it down and put her back into bed in the mess, Did not change the sheets just wiped it away with dry paper towels. Wife made a complaint after that disgusting behavior. Unsure what is happening to this country lately. George
  19. Hi all, Currently looking into starting my own business and had a mentor meeting at JCP with a guy from chamber of commerce who raised a question of legality. I am planning on running a computer repair service from home and offer a same day service for customers who drop off the computers rather than me picking them up. This guy I spoke to yesterday stated that I wouldn't be able to do that, I would not be able to have customers dropping off their computers/laptops etc.. I have looked online and cannot find any information regarding this other than the council regarding the change of the property usage. This isn't an issue since the room I will be using as a workshop is the cellar which I am in the process of fitting out and was never used for any purpose. The vehicle traffic would not be much higher and I have parking for at least 4 vehicles off the main road. Anyone know who I need to contact to find out more information, Is it the Council regarding the business? Regards George
  20. Hi all, Just got a letter from council yesterday, our rent will now be £43.78 short per week which we are suppose to make up to pay our private landlord, £175.12 + £50 we were already adding to the rent shortfall we were entitled to. Total £225.12 per month to add to cover our rent, its a complete joke, that amount is the amount I receive in JSA for us. Now having to move out within the next 4 weeks, if we can find somewhere smaller or cheaper. Anyone know anything about Working Tax Credits, looking at going self employed as that is exempt from this benefit limit, Start up will be slow and possibly only earn £30/£50 a week selling new computers on EBay (only a small profit on each machine after fees and paypal). Anyone have any advice regarding claiming working tax credits? I am currently on JSA but going through the motions to try and claim New Enterprise Allowance for self employed and this is a very slow process, this letter only gives us 4 weeks to find the £225 for our rent and we will be very short on our £650 rent if we can't sort something out. George

  22. Hi Alpo287, they will most likely say that they have never seen a letter like it before, Happened to me 2 years ago when I did the initial refusal letter although the reasons were different back then, See this link later on for a video clip of my 1st appointment. Video link Click secret video (ignore any of the letters on my site - old now) Its good you have not had your 1st appointment yet as the only info they will have is from the job center and hopefully that is very little. The CV is easy its personal private information, If they ask if you have one, yes you do, If they ask to have a copy, No its private but I will bring a copy to show you, to prove I can produce a CV. You then redact any crap jobs on there or any information you don't want them to see, Do not let them copy it. They want your CV so they can spam it around or dumb it down (edit your private CV) but once the letter is in they are unable to spam anything due to the data protection act without your consent. Same goes for courses they may want you to attend, without your consent they can't send your details on. My quick guide to beat the WP: 1: Remove consent from the start - Send in the consent letter or hand deliver. 2: 1st appointment will ask for more information for the computer, Refuse all personal data other than what they have already received from the DWP. See video clip 3: No phone (easier than refusing to give out your personal number) If they offer you a phone you want £2/£3 a week to charge it, if they don't pay don't charge the phone, electricity costs. 4: Email address, Yes its private you can't have it. 5: Never sign anything, even for bus fares, you don't have to sign any documents at WP. 6: Record every appointment on phone voice recorder or get a hidden spy camera off EBay, keyfob cameras are about £7/£8 and work brilliantly as you hold keys in hand with it attached. 7: Never say no, Say I will have to think about it or get some advice first 8: Never miss a mandatory appointment, You will know its mandatory as it will state all about sanctions and loosing benefits. That's about all I can think of at the moment, Good luck when you have to go there, Keep calm and record everything. George
  23. Look in the library for the CPA cancellation letter for your bank and get it into you bank a.s.a.p. You really need to get a new bank account a.s.a.p to make sure your funds/wages are safe, Check online for a basic bank account most banks now offer one. Get any future wages/payments moved from your account that the payday loans companies have, this then puts you in the position of strength and they can't dictate to you how much you need to pay. You have to stop telling them about changing bank accounts when on the phone as they will just raid your account that they have as soon as they think funds are available which is why you need to send in the letter to the bank to stop all CPA on your account, if they at least then do get any funds you can claim it back from the bank Once you have your funds safe you need to write recorded delivery to each one explaining your in financial difficulties and can only afford £x (what ever you have left from wages after paying priority bills) and need the interest stopped and any charges removed. Obtaining another loan to pay off a loan is a no no, If anything use the funds to pay your rent up to date, get some gas/food etc.. George P.S Once you have secured your funds (new or different bank account) you need to stop talking to any of them on the phone and keep everything in writing, If they phone up just refuse to go through any security checks and ask for everything to be put in writing. If you have an Android mobile phone a very good application on the market is " call recorder" it will record all your calls so you have a record of what is said on the phone.
  24. Antone, was just giving info to the op that if he removes all consent from the WP then he won't have to apply for zero hour cleaning jobs or jump through hoops for the WP masters. How can anyone manage working 10 hours a week on £6.19, even worst is that job was only 2 hours per day, take away travel expenses at least £3.80 for a day rider (that price here in Leeds) and op would be working for £8.58 per day. I did go slightly of topic to the ops original question and as you stated HB entitlement is not effected by the WP its only effected by how much money you have coming in, In this situation I would expect full HB entitlement as the wage is under the JSA weekly allowance. George
  25. If your on the work programme why have you not given in the consent letter? Once you give them that letter you are worthless to them as they will not receive any outcome payment and you will then be parked and have only a few appointments as it costs them money for you to attend and that's money they will never get back from any outcome and comes from the £400/£600 they were paid when you started. I just finished my WP sentence and only attended 16/18 times in 2 years and the last 6 months was 5 minute appointment's, I only wanted funding for the SIA Licence and I would have been back in work 2 years ago. Consent letter here, Have a good read, edit to which ever is your provider http://unemploymentmovement.com/forum/unemployment-and-job-centre-plus/6480-consentme-site-copy Check what your job seekers agreement says, If it says apply for 4 jobs and write or phone 2 jobs then do that but if you don't want to work as a cleaner and its not stated in your job seekers agreement which are always zero hour contracts then don't even apply. When I was at the WP (Ingeus) here is what I did/ didn't do 1: Never gave them any personal information, CV,email, telephone, job search or anything that was personal to me 2: Never signed anything, not even bus fare ticket (still got my bus fares back) 3: Never did anything in their offices other than have a cup of coffee, a quick chat and home 4: I never used their computers although I was never asked to but would have refused as security would have been an issue to me. 5: RECORD EVERY APPOINTMENT - Mobile phone voice record or get a spy camera from EBay £7/£10. Waited 2 years on the WP for a SIA course and funding that never came. Had great delight explaining this at the Job Center now my 2 years were up and they were very interested and took everything down in writing. The WP are a business and you are their cash cow, Remove their rights to claim an outcome payment even if they god forbid get you a job (anyone see that pig fly) and it gets so much easier. George
