hi i had an abbey current account which has been closed for around 9 months whilst with them they charged me ALOT can i still claim even though the account is closed???

cool but i think this needs posting in "bank charges in print"

I have a Barclaycard initial visa. on my latest statement, it say's "Please stay within your credit limit and ensure that your monthly payments are received on time and are not returned unpaid, otherwise a £20 charge (£24 for initial customers) will be incurred for late payment, over credit limitand returned payments." How can the same amount of manual intervention (according to them) warrant a higher charge on one account that another. I believe they charge more on the initial account because they think initial customers are more likely to go over their limit and therefore the higher charge will make them even more money. More evidence of profitering?

The house of lords is the highest court in the land, as such it's decisions are binding on all courts below it (ie all of them) Also the house of lords is where parlimentary acts go to be ratified before the queen signs them and they become law.

That's disgraceful, seriously have to do something about this people. Not just the illegal charges but the way we their customers are treated with contempt by staff. What else can we do???

Hi, I just saw a post from someone saying they had called Abbey and "accidently" been cut off on several occasions, when trying to discuss charges. Also when they do get to speak to someone, they are told someone will call them back and that call never transpires. I to have had that exact scenario, and just wandered how many others have experienced the same problems? If there are a large number of us, we should start a petition to end Abbeys bad practices. After all, they may be able to fob us off individually, but if enough of us tell them to buck or we are leaving, well then maybe they just might. Just a thought... Oh and before anyone says why are you bothering talking to call centres? I know we should not, but it would be good to see if we can effect change of policy, if enough of us threaten to leave!

i told them that the were legally required to do so, but they kept on trying to fobb me off, i then asked to be put thru to a manager, and twice i got ''cut off accidentally'' called a third, talked to a guy who claimed to be a manager and couldnt talk to me from the custumer service advisors desk and said he was calling me back in 5 mins, this is now over and hour, and this is the second time a ''call back'' has been arranged, the first last week and i am still yet to recieve a call" I have had EXACTLY the same thing happen with Grabby!!! They are obviously trained to do it!

the dpa request is a maximum of £10!? another example of Grabby taking more than they are entitled to!
