  1. I just cannot see how they can hope to win, Apple give you 5gb free cloud storage, surely they will just say that with that, you have more than 16gb storage regardless that you lose a couple gig on the software. And do they really believe any court in the US is going to open that can of worms and put one of the most successful companies on the planet in danger of having to pay out billions to people all over the world? ha, not a chance.. All this will acheive is that the 16gb iPhone will become the 13gb iPhone..
  2. Hi All I wonder if you can help me with a query, I was flying to Rome with Brussels airlines from Birmingham via Brussels, we had 35 minutes to change planes in Brussels. When we got to Birmingham, they told us the flight was delayed for 25 minutes and to not worry, if we miss the connection, they will put us up for the night and fly us out first thing the next day. Eventually, the flight took off almost an hour late, so, we definitely missed the connection meaning they put us up in a hotel for the night at the airport. My question is that as I had a hotel booked in Rome and still had to pay for the night that I didn't use it as it was too late to cancel, can I claim this back off the airline. I also had a taxi booked from Rome Airport, luckily that company were very helpful and managed to reschedule to collect me the next day, which is more than Brussels airlines did, I asked them to arrange me a taxi for the next day from Rome to my hotel, they point blank refused! Thanks in advance BG
  3. Just to chuck in my twopence worth, you should absolutely go low on your initial offer, don't be afraid to go low, the worst that they will do is say no. People in the UK are afraid to haggle, we are worried we might upset the person we are haggling with if we try to take the 'michael', but, as the others say, these panels are pretty much worthless if they have to come remove them. When they accept your offer, make sure you get it in writing that the panels become your sole property upon full and final payment of £xxx. I'm not sure I would even offer £100, I would start off at £50, especially as you are not getting the FIT payment anyway, you are going to get the electricity created regardless of if you own the panels or not for as long as they are on your roof. Have a figure in mind that you are prepared to go up to (maybe a years worth of electricity saving) and keep that in the back of your mind as your absolute best offer and only offer it once you feel you need to. Good luck!
  4. name him personally and not just his company in any action. Once you have your judgement against him, don't go for bailiffs, the court bailiffs are weak and do nothing, go for the attachement of earnings option!
  5. I would have thought double match fee was because they are effectively being charged for the pitch rental which normally would be split across both teams, it is therefore double as it would not be fair to make the other team pay for half the pitch fee for a game they turned up at but their opponents didn't?
  6. He also goes by the name of Gerri Verdi, claims he earns £1000 per week, but can only afford to pay £50 per month (as he has another CCJ that he is paying monthly), but then he won't bother paying. Keep your eye out for the Bailiff Mr Verdi...you never know when he will be knocking at your door. If you have lost money to this person, I would not bother to go down the County court route, he doesn't pay and he claims the cars he sells are not his, so, he has no assets.
  7. Mr Virdi / Barberscars / PX Swaps / Longford park cars / whoever you are. How would you feel about actually paying the money that you owe from the CCJ I obtained against you?, you have failed to stick to your request of paying monthly from January this year and now I am going to send in a proper bailiff (HCEO) who will come impound all your cars until you prove you don't own them (as you claimed with the County court bailiff - who, btw, actually knew you from all the other times he has visited you). Shame of it was that you started out owing me £100 and now owe me over £500 with all the interest and court charges and I am going to hound you over this forever, I really don't care if you don't pay, I am happy to make your life as miserable as possible over this debt, just like you clearly make the lives of people who buy from you miserable and when this CCJ runs out, I will be taking you back to court for the debt you owe and will obtain another CCJ against you personally (like last time) and I will continue to do so until you pay up. Have a nice day
  8. Great idea - e-mail reported via the action fraud website, and e-mail forward to phishing@cityoflondon.police.uk as requested by action fraud. BG
  9. I work in the industry and it's common practice to print the promo price on the pack and have a promo sticker showing the previous price crossed out with the new price on it. If they printed the £4 price on the pack and then put a sticker on a lot of people would get confused and wouldn't know whether it's £4 or £2, it's the same with twin pack salads, we only ever print (say £1) one price on one of the packs or people assume the price is double what it actually is. The price printed on the pack is printed as the film runs through the filling machine, just before the pack is formed and filled. Hope that helps. BG
  10. Hi Just an update to this. I wrote to them, asking them to explain their redress calculation sheet as I just could not make head nor tail of it, they have responded back to me and it appears their calculations are correct. Endeavour claim that when I settled the loan, the PPI was cancelled and a rebate applied to the account (to reduce the settlement figure on the loan). I have decided to accept their redress offer as it was money I was not expecting. Thanks for your help and advice IMS. BG
  11. I wonder how long they will drag their feet on getting these sent out, also, what about the ones over £20k, do we really believe that their statements were correct?, surely the system would have been the same for all non secured loans.
  12. Thanks IMS I have sent them a letter today, asking them to explain their calculations, supplying them with my calculations and disputing the PPI altogether. With the settlement offered, it would work out that they are actually charging a shade over £3500 for 12 months of PPI protection (that wasn't wanted in the first place), their figures don't make any sense at all, I think they are trying to get out of this cheaply... I look forward to their reply. BG
  13. Hi Ims They originally contacted me to say that I may have been mis-sold PPI on the loan and would I like them to investigate it, to be honest, I didn't even know I had PPI on it, I usually never take PPI out as the job I have is very safe, has been for years (virtually a job for life), plus, I always refused to take it out on loans as I felt it added to much to the monthly payments, so, the fact that I did have it on this loan meant either I was not aware of it (unlikely) or I was told that I had to have it. I shall be writing to them to dispute that I would have bought PPI and to point out that they have neglected to refund the original £6k PPI, the payments for the PPI for a year and the 8% interest per year on the whole lot. I'm grateful for your help and advice, I will keep this thread updated as to how I get on (and no doubt will need advice) Thanks BG
  14. Thanks Ims The sheet they have sent through with calculations actually has a section where they deduct PPI insurance from the settlement (so, they offer me a settlement and then say, that the PPI would have cost x amount, deduct that, then come up with the final figure), it's bad enough that they still claim that I wanted PPI, but they have forgotten I paid the initial £6k and now charging another £544 for an 'equivalent monthly paid policy' I want my initial £6k back on top of the settlement.... I was mis-sold PPI! BG.
  15. Found the settlement details from my solicitor when I re-mortgaged The original loan was £50,000 PPI loan was £6000 Monthly repayment was £596/month (including the PPI), 12 payments made (£7152) Settlement figure was £55,502.99 This to me says that the full £6000 PPI cost was paid in the settlement / monthly payments Does this mean I should also be asking for this £6000 to be paid back as well? BG
  16. Thanks IMS, sorry to be thick. I settled the loan and PPI (paid back something like £57k on a £56k loan), so, according to your guide, I am entitled to the full £6k PPI premium + interest? Bizzisguy
  17. Just to confirm, there are no underlying issues such as: Default Notices being issued. - no debt collection Agency involvement. - no Credit Reference Agency issues - no Harrassment already coming your way - no The account was never behind in payment, so no charges, etc on it Bizzisguy
  18. Hi All, long time lurker, 2nd time poster... I am hoping that one of you will be able to help me with a query I have. I have a claim with a company for PPI on a loan that was repaid, they have sent me through a redress offer, but I am not sure if it is correct. The PPI loan amount was £6000, 12 payments were made from October 31 2006 @ £59.41/month Notional redemption cost of PPI when it was paid off was £5794.64 Can someone help me work out what the redress should be. I tried filling in the statintsheet and it comes out near (but under) the pre-tax redress offered - if I put in the amount as PPI paid + notional redemption cost as the 'amount of charge' and number of days elapsed since 31/10/2006 - but I don't know if the redress should include the original £6000 PPI payment (which it currently doesn't). Thanks
  19. Hi Just checked the Web and these guys are just up the road from where I work in a local out of town shopping area Address is Cadbury Courtyard, Blackminster Business Park, Evesham, WR11 7RE The shops in that area are legitimate shops, however, I can't guarantee this particular company is trustworthy, but knowing the shops there, I would be surprised if they weren't. Regards
