  1. Hi i need to make a small claim re: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?390279-Restaurant-refusing-to-honour-voucher&p=4222541#post4222541 Can i claim for anything other than interest, i.e. time? What are reasonable charges? Thanks
  2. Thanks everyone, I see it as two seperate issues - the radio needs to deal with the prize and I/my mum will deal with the paid vouchers. Can anyone advise on what we can claim to add more of a stong in the tail? The vouchers total £40.00, we have consumed the 4 bottles of wine purchased (hic) but can we claim for more i.e. interest/compensation for the time wasted and hassle? Thanks
  3. Remove excess full stops too when using that link ( only need dot com)

  5. Ok sounds good, although my brother has already had a verbal battle with them. Apparently old manager ran off with money however they are still trading successfully!!
  6. I cannot do it now as not working but says "it gives me pleasure to forward this gift voucher to the value of £20.00 which entitles you to take lunch evening meal or perhaps afternoon tea at a time convenient to yourselves. It can be used in conjunction with any of our speciality evenings.....or with our evening a la carte menu, the choice is entirely up to you. We look forward to welcoming you and should you wish to arrange a time in advance please call.... And we will endeavour to seat you in full view of the stunning bay..... Please present this letter when you arrive and we look forward to welcoming you soon. Yours truly .... Manager No other text at all other than standard letterhead and removed list of deals they offer for ease of reading. Thanks
  7. In December 2012 my Mum entered a competition on a local radio station. She won a voucher worth £20.00 for a local restaurant and two bottles of wine. Thinking this was a lovely present idea, she then purchased 2 gift vouchers as Christmas presents in 2012 for £20.00 each along with 4 bottles of wine to package 2 in with each voucher. She gave these as christmas presents to myself and my siblings to use with our partners. As you can see in the picture there is no 'Voucher Expiry' date etc. When my brother called to use his in FEBRUARY he was told the restaurant would no longer honour the vouchers due to a manager running off with money(although no change to the actual owners). The restaurant will not honour these now, where do we stand? She paid on her credit card so may be covered by Section 75 however I do not want the restaurant to get away with this! Letter (voucher) image attached. I have also posted this issue on their Facebook site tonight! Family members have suggested ordering our food and then producing the vouchers with payment, if they call the police we have evidence of our vouchers and they will be embarrassed by a scene. Advice appreciated! sorry image is too small, there is no expiry date and no condition of pre-booking.
  8. Thanks for your reply, the problem comes in 3 months when they want £60, and that they are not the only company asking me for more AND wanting an increase in 3 months. I will have to stick to my guns I suppose, unless soneone advises that would have a detrimental effect if any 'case' occured?
  9. After lending stream told me they could only set up repayment over the phone they have now backtracked and given me account details but say:Thank you for your email. We would like to inform you that we can only accept £25 for 3 months then you need to better the offer and you need to pay atleast £60 a month. If you agree to it we will setup a a payment plan and email you the same as total balance is £539.50.How do I respond? My offer is £20 per month, if I refuse I am worried I will then look unreasonable!?
  10. I am not yet in arrears with Wonga but payment date looming. Have cancelled CPA and informed them of this and I have sent inc and expenditure but received the following reply: We really do appreciate your current difficulties, and the offer you have made, but we were looking for something higher. The size and number of payments you have suggested doesn't really work to help get you out of debt in a reasonable timeframe so we would urge you to reconsider this amount and get back to us with an improved offer. Please call our friendly collections team on 0844 842 9110, who will be happy to discuss a more suitable arrangement. The team are here so please pick up the phone because we really are here to help. Kind regards, Collections Department Obviously I wont be calling them, but now what do I do!? Thanks
  11. Lending Stream say: Thank you for your email. We would like to inform you that we have received your documents and we have uploaded them as well in our system. So please call us at 0845-351-1482. We are available from Monday to Saturday (08.00am-08.00pm) as repayment plan can only be setup over the phone. We are willing to discuss with you to clear the outstanding balance and can set an arrangement for an affordable monthly installment that as per your convenience. Looking forward to hear from you. Wonga state: Please provide the outstanding balances for each of your creditors to enable us to work out the amount which we should receive monthly on a pro rata basis. I have cancelled CPA's but am nervous about leaving it close to my usual payment date without agreements in writing. Do I need to call lending stream? Do I have to give Wonga this info (have provided some info in an inc and exp table) but not owed amounts of each creditor Thank you
  12. Laura Watts at Cash Genie has dealt with my request for a repayment plan with a response within hours cooperating with my requests. So far so good
