  1. I have two store cards, topshop and river island, with loads of late payment charges on they are both run by GE should i lodge my complaints to them or to the stores? also i have just had my bank charges refunded from hsbc is this the same process? thanks for any help you can offer:rolleyes:
  2. hi there, just to let you know that i sent my LBA on the 21st and on the 22nd i recieved an offer of just under what i asked for. i accepted this as i really need the money now and when i worked out how much less i was getting (£200) against how many times i had a charge imposed it worked out at about £2.50 each time which i think is fair. if they had charged me that the first time round instead of £30 a time i wouldn't have probably done this. Anyway i sent my reply back recorded delivery the same day and the money was transferred to my account yesterday (25th). I haven't heard off them yet as to if they will close my account so fingers crossed they don't. Hope you hear off them shortly and let us know how you get on.
  3. hi there i sent my prelim letter to hsbc on the 7th, counting the days down now till i can send off my lba. keep us informed if you hear anything. but from what i've read in other threads we won't hear anything until after we send the lba. good luck !!!!
  4. I may be being paranoid but you don't think the banks have some sort of data base that they all share on who is claiming bank charges back and then not opening accounts for those who are claiming. i hope they don't as i have already started my claim and not been able to open an account yet. thanks for the sugestions for accounts i will try them. just another question though, if i go around trying to open up basic bank accounts will this do my credit scoremore damage? Thanks xxx
  5. I'm in a bit of a pickle, as i mentioned before i was in the process of opening a bank account with NatWest just in case HSBC decide to close my account ( which they are likely to do by the sounds of things ) but i have recieved a letter today declining my request for an account. This worries me as i only applied for a basic account ( step account) which offers no chequebook or overdraft facillity so should pose no debt risk for NATWEST. If any one has any ideas of why they would do this or of any other banks i should try i would be greatfull. i need a bank account to have my husbands wages and the tax credits and child benefit to be paid into, i dont need a cheque book but a solo card and the ability to set up DD's is a plus.
  6. Hi all i've just started in my pursuit of unfair bank charges against HSBC. I sent my prelim letter recorded delivery to my local branch and know that it was recieved yesterday (aug 7th). I have a few questions if anyone can help i would be greatfull!! 1. Do i count the 14 days including weekends or just buisness days from when they recieved the letter? 2. I know that they may close my account and i am in the process of opening a basic account with NatWest at the moment, but will they close my other accounts? i have a young savers account which was opened in my name but my son's name is also an the account and also i have a child trust fund account for my daughter will these be affected? 3. I am lucky enough not to be overdrawn on my account but i do have a managed loan with them will they be able to call this in if they close my account as i still owe over £3000 and will def. struggle to pay back all at once. thanks for any help and advice you can offer and i will keep updating on my battle with the big bank!!!
