I'm in a bit of a pickle, as i mentioned before i was in the process of opening a bank account with NatWest just in case HSBC decide to close my account ( which they are likely to do by the sounds of things ) but i have recieved a letter today declining my request for an account. This worries me as i only applied for a basic account ( step account) which offers no chequebook or overdraft facillity so should pose no debt risk for NATWEST. If any one has any ideas of why they would do this or of any other banks i should try i would be greatfull. i need a bank account to have my husbands wages and the tax credits and child benefit to be paid into, i dont need a cheque book but a solo card and the ability to set up DD's is a plus.
