  1. Just wondered if someone could give me some advice about maybe looking into claiming some of my bank charges back - interest back which my bank takes off me each month. - (If I can or cannot do it) I have had a overdraft on my account now since being at university some 20 years ago, it started as a student overdraft at £200, and I fell into the trap of Natwest putting up year after year after year without my consent via a letter until now its £2500. ..At the moment im always at the limit of my overdraft come payday and I dont earn enough to pay the overdraft off.... I have current charges of about £33 month and a £6 admin fee (Its a arranged overdraft). Im now come to the point where I want live with my long term partner and pay the debt off and close my account down... Just wondered if I can claim any of these charges back. ie, they have given me a overdraft and ive not being able to pay it off complaint or they gave me a overdraft and they have increased it year on year with out my consent complaint. Ive read that you can put a complaint in for financial hardship but the £40 fees thats been coming out of my account I have been budgeting for the last 5/10 years, ive just never had the money in my account to cover paying the debt off.. Any advice greatly appreciated....
  2. Hi all update on ppi - got all my SAR information back from Edinburgh about 4 weeks ago, got told off the lady that this would be enough for me to do a PPI claim - they asked me very politely to take the other person SAR information back to my local bank I did. Filled the PPI questionnaire out for all 3 of my claims separately(3 loans ive had over 10 years) and sent to manchester recorded delivery got the bog standard letter back a week later stating it could take upto 8 weeks to look into it. NEXT DAY got another letter we the approval of 3 of my claims for a total amount of nearly £5,500 (with the 8% intrest added) Well ive got to say im a tad bit shell shocked when I saw this!!! at how quick it was delt with So im more then happy now - It states on the letter it could take upto 28 days for the money it to appear in my account typical RBS!!! Got to say im still fuming because basically ive been paying for a loan i didnt need for the last 5 years!! RBS are never going to get another penny out of me if I can help it!! My advice if your making a claim is to contact the SAR department at Natwest in Edinburgh address is:- Natwest SAR team Ground floor Business House B PO BOX 1000 Edinburgh EH12 1HQ Telephone number 0131 6264320 Thanks for everyones help - will make a donation when I get funds within the next 3-4 weeks - excellent message board PPI Claim start AUG - 2012 RBS settlement MARCH 2013!
  3. guess what Natwest have sent me someone elses SAR information - all there bank statements all there information the covering letter is addressed to myself. Spoke to Natwest fraud team awaiting a call back from the PPI department. So I wonder where all my information is?????? Got told off the fraud team to go into my local branch and drop the other information off at me lesuire this really is a joke and a massive admin error on there part - they have got to breaking the law.. How ironic I got passed through to the fraud team for there own mistake!! What a JOKE!
  4. the loans were to consolidate the other ones. I would imagine I'd put in a seperate claim for each as I have have 3 different account numbers.. Will have a crack at the spreadsheet later this week.
  5. Thanks for all the information. Finally got all my SAR details on Saturday so I can now launch my PPI complaint its only taken me since August to get them so frustrating. Because ive had 3 loans over 10 years how do I put a complaint in? do I do one single claim per loan or do I claim the lot on one complaint?? And roughly whats the time scale for any action, or to a completed claim?
  6. and will it be worth it?? and what are the fees..
  7. Haha, this is really annoying now. Natwest have sent me a letter saying they can find any information leading to a mortgage account. I sent all my copies away to obtain a precise SAR and still they dont give me the information I ask for. Am thinking about taking them to court now my claim is only for about £3000 this would be over 10 years, if I can only claim for 6 years it will be about £2000 can someone advise me how I take my bank to court, and cost etc. I had enough. Regards
  8. Thankyou for your help! Update will follow.
  9. yes I used all the correct templates. I will contact RBS again and request a full SAR on these 3 loan accounts - update to follow. Thankyou
  10. the letter states "It appears that your SAR request my be in connection with PPI that customers believe they may have been mis-sold rather then complete a full SAR on your current and historic banking arrangements with us we are able to provide you with a summary loan and ppi details - it saying if they have misinterpreted my request to let them know. Should I request via the ICO via the case number they have given me or send a letter back to RBS - Stalling tactics all the time.
  11. im confuddled a little the SAR they have sent me is a summary or a breakdown of what ppi ive paid since 2002. How am I meant to complete a spreadsheet if i dont know dates or amounts of the PPI repayments per month. Must i request this? the SAR only gives me the total amounts of PPI I was paying between the open and close date of the loan. The letter also states they only keep records for upto 6 years.
  12. finally got my SAR from Natwest today shows the loan number the amount and the PPI paid - I have paid PPI on 3 loans over 10 years. So I guess now I can make my PPI complaint to RBS, Any ideas what the turn around time is from making a complaint to completion? any tips? Thanks for all your comments and advice.
  13. Update - No response with a SAR from Natwest of yet but the ICO have emailed me back and basically they have issued RBS with 14 days to give me my SAR details, so rock on christmas day lol (or a couple of days after lol) lets see what happens!!
  14. Had a letter back from RBS today - must of be for the original request of the SAR on my loan accounts, the letter states sorry for the delay and for this we will waver the £10 fee on this occasion because you never signed your original request of the SAR we cant prove that you are the account holder, please fill in and sign the form and we will be happy to proceed with your original request. Bog standard blah blah if you ask me. Im sure I signed my letter, they just seem to use stalling tactics all the time! Well fill the form in a see where this gets me - wondering if I will have to wait another 40 days!!
  15. Hi Ive gone to the ICO sent all my documentation off, i got a letter of confirmation from them to say they had received my letter and documents, i now have to wait 40 days see if anything is done about my other 2 loans, i think the 40 days will be within the next 2 weeks or so so heres hoping ive paid ppi on my other 2 loans and i will bang one complaint in for the lot
