  1. I have not sent them an SAR or CCA request. I am prepared to do either if it helps. Which is best to send first, or should I send both at the same time? Many thanks,
  2. Hello All, I posted some time ago about some potential debt issues and was advised to get my current credit report and then post in the corresponding forum for that debt. I have done that, and now I really need to know how to solve it. ANY help would be greatly appreciated! Basically, I have four things on my credit file which are defaulted and I need to get rid of one way or another. One of them is MBNA. Credit Card from MBNA - with Aktiv Kapital Current Balance £17xx Default/Delinquent Balance £22xx Default Date 11/2009 Opening Date 03/2007 I need to clear my credit file and really start rebuilding properly. What is the best way to do this and get rid of this & sort it out finally? I have a steady job now and in a better position to sort this out. Any help is greatly appreciated - thank you so much.
  3. Two of them are NatWest. First - NatWest Personal Unsecured Loan, Current Balance £8,xxx Default/Delinquent balance £11,xxx Opened 2008 Default Mid 2011 Date updated 12/2012 Second - NatWest Current account Current Balance £8xx Default/Delinquent balance £9xx Opened 2007 Default Mid 2011 Date Updated 06/2013 ---- I need to clear my credit file and really start rebuilding properly. What is the best way to do this and get rid of these two? I contacted NatWest about 6 months ago before getting my credit file, and they said they had written the debt off. What does that even mean? I am due to be married soon and I really need to get my life on track, I have a steady job now also. Any help is greatly appreciated - thank you so much.
  4. I am going to get a CRA file organised today and take it from there. It does seem like this is a never ending path and there is literally no way to sort my credit history out. Im sure there is a way, it is just finding it
  5. I have not made a payment to the loan company (natwest) for a couple of years I think. I did have an agreement with the CCCS, which finished about 2 years ago because I lost my job. The credit card company is MBNA (£1780), which Acktiv Capital are now looking after, and the other for £440 is HFC Bank, and I am not sure who is looking after that now. I have not made a payment to any of them for about a year I think.
  6. Hello All, Not sure if this is the right forum or subforum, but I will ask away. Today was the day I began to sort through all my debts, I am in a steady job now and can make monthly payments properly and I wanted to get it sorted out. I called up Natwest who I have a £10,000 loan with from 2008, and they said that they have written off the debt in May 2013. What does this mean? Can anyone shed any light on it, or how it will affect my credit rating and whether it will ever be removed? I can't imagine that someone will just write off £10k. Also, I have a couple of other debts (smallish one at £440 and one at about £1700) but they are both with debt collection agencies. Should I send them a CCA? I am not sure where to go with them in how to settle them at the lowest possible amount, but in full settlement. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Many thanks -
  7. Hello all, I am not really sure about this post but I will give it a go! I have not sought help on this matter before as I didn't even know this website existed. If there is anyone out there who could give me a little advice it would be great ! I have done some reading, but it would be great if some people could just explain a little about exactly what to do, and whether its worthwhile etc. I am in major debt, of around 15k-ish I think. Sadly my parents were never good with money and always had things on finance etc - (and paid all the time in full etc. but they had a good business going at the time, until it went wrong). So when I hit 18, I thought finance was completely normal and rinsed everything I could, so I took out a £10k loan about 3 days after my birthday and brought fancy cars and was completely careless. I have now learnt my lesson!!!!! I paid everything fine all the time, until I lost my job. Since then, I have had a nightmare between jobs all the time and its gone wrong, and for the last two years its completely messed up being self employed with no regular income. I really need to get this sorted because it is completely hindering my life, and stopping me from saving up etc. My debts are as follows - Natwest Loan (with wescot credit services - not spoke to these about the debt yet) - £10700 - latest was taken out 04/2008, defaulted on 07/2011 Natwest Overdraft (also with wescot as above) - £950 - defaulted on 08/2011 HFC Hire Purchase - £450 - Defaulted 04/2010 Vodafone (with capquest) - £107 - Defaulted 07/2009 I also have a credit card with MBNA (balance of £1800), which went to experto credite. I have spoken with them on the phone and have an agreement to pay £10 a month now. HOWEVER, this account does not show up on my credit file report from Equifax, how strange? It mentions nothing about a credit card from them at all. Is that normal? I now have a job (employed, with a salary + commission). My partner and I have just got a house (through her parents etc.) and now we have monthly bills to contend with aswell. I have no idea where to go from here, I don't know what all this CCA or SAR is, or whether using them will benefit, or whether I should let some debts go, I don't know! One thing I cannot have on my credit file is a CCJ, insolvency, or becoming bankrupt (the line of work I want to go into won't let me). Is there anything I should be doing, or should start to do ? Dear me =(
