  1. hi many thanks I have gone on dvla and the colour of the car registered under that plate is white, but the car that hit my wife is dark blue, the same make and model car. the police say they will not investigate as the colours are different, surely if its a hit and run then they have to investigate by law, just to see who was drivng and the damage to his car the longer it goes on he will get it repaired. I will find him as he has been seen local on a number of occasions, I have the reg given out to approx. 20 people so its only a matter of time before friends see it. if the police don't want to help then what can the innocent public do, does someone have to die by this moron before they help? I wanted to go down the legal route but hey....
  2. hi many thanks for the reply CraigMcK the damage is minimal, on a small 6" dent which I should get my friend to push out and the paint is ok, I just want this PXXk off the road, the police have been informed as I said above but we don't know the address and the police wont give it as the car is a different colour, is there anyway I can get the address to see if it was the guy driving it, I posted what happened on my local facebook page (just the car and colour and what happened not the reg) and a woman locally pm'ed me and said this was the same car that mounted the path a few weeks ago and nearly knocked her and her baby in a pram over. if its the same person then he needs to be off the road.
  3. sorry the wifes car had the kids in he was on his own
  4. hi yesterday a car was driving like a nutter behind my wifes car with the young kids in it, she slowed down to let him pass and just as she done it he mounted the grass verge on the left and drove into the left front wing causing a dent, he shouted out of the window and drove off. my 16 year old daughter got the make and reg of the car which was a dark blue Vauxhall insignia, when we reported this to the police they said it must have had fake plates on as the car should have been a white Vauxhall insignia. this seems funny as the wife says it was blue and at 1pm in the afternoon I think she can see clearly. they said they cant do anything as its may be the wrong car? could he have changed the colour, it was a 12 plate car also. any help would be great thank you.
  5. But I was not shown any I'd. As the post states I'd must be shown prior to issuing a penalty. The slip I have states it is a penalty notice.
  6. hi mr firstclassx as you know what is what, can you give me a answer to these please I made a mistake by standing/sitting on the arm of a chair in 1st class as the carriage was ram packed, as I had a zone 2-5 monthly pass why wasn't I asked to pay the extra fee for 1st class, but was ordered to pay a £20 penalty. does the guard issuing the ticket get commission for their sales and/or penalties issues? many thanks
  7. a guard is not a constable, only british transport police can arrest or detain you, below is from a solicitor. It's very unlikely that a court would consider either a ticket collector, a guard nor a Revenue Protection Officer to be an officer in the sense intended by the legislation
  8. I find that hard to believe as a policeman cannot even touch you as this would be physical assault, you can only be restrained by the police once you have been read your rights. and the collectors showed no id either
  9. it was a mistake on my behalf, im just saying can they physically stop you leaving the train without even talking to them. and im asking about a £20 fine and extra payment for a mistake as I had a zone 2-5 card, as I heard they get commission for the higher fare, im asking does this happen?
  10. so how can I tell the difference as they didn't show any identification, if they are taking money surely this should be showed? can they physically stop you leaving a train, as this would be assault, and if I said nothing when asked a question what can they do?
  11. hi all, what is the difference between a revenue inspector and a guard issuing a penalty. my monthly travel card has zones 2-5 so surely I should have paid the excess fare by standing in first class and not the £20, the lady didn't once check my card with a reader. how do I know the lady works for the rail company and not just taking my card details she didn't show me any identification. I have heard from someone who works for the railway that these guards will issue you with the highest out of the 2 fines as they are on commission, this surely is illegal? to do such a thing.
  12. hi I have taken on your point but it was 1 mistake I have made, if they said can you move out of 1st class then I would have moved but to issue a penalty for sitting on an arm, next time ill be sleeping on the table if im getting fined. may thanks for your time.
  13. hi can I ask 1 question, where on the train does it say you cannot stand in first class, some have closing internal doors to section you between standard and 1st class which say you cannot travel in this compartment without a 1st class ticket, this but this train only had the stickers on the window outside no internal dividing doors, so where is this displayed saying no standing....
  14. we are not in india are we, if you are pushing the people out of London that's well and good but they need to have a service that can cope first, Southeastern trains are the worst, having more cancellation, delays than anyone else. this need to be addressed first.
  15. how would a guard make an announcement, you cannot hear or understand what they say anyway, every train has a time slot, its the guard closing the doors that can make up or add to the delays on a service and they should be held accountable for the delays.
