  1. Yes you can- well I could with honda- they told me how much the settlement was and he suggested selling it privately and pay the settlement figure that way... I didn't actually go down this road but it is possible and less expensive!
  2. Ok guys an update sorry it's been ages!! Well... he didn't reply to my snotty letter haha so looks like that's an end to that!! If I hear anything else I will let you know Thanks again everyone!
  3. I doubt it will be approved tbh so you may end up just biting the bullet and paying the fine Write a letter to the head/chair of governors requesting this and that's all you can do really...
  4. on a slightly different note - the bank ones make me laugh - you know - the ones where they say that your account has been suspended and it's from a bank that you don't even have an account with!! sad people imho...
  5. agree with ganymede Something similar happened to me. I did not have to deal with asda at all - everything went through my solicitor. Do you have any witnesses? luckily I did so perhaps that made it easier? Also did she go to A and E? if so then there will be a record of her visit Hope you get it sorted!
  6. To be honest with you, I don't know of any company that will give you unlimited for your ipad as I have looked...
  7. I did think that too tbh but wanted to get advice from you guys bacause you are all fab and have helped me out in the past!! We shall see what his next step is eh!
  8. Quotes from the article Rebel posted- "A reviewer would have a complete defence however, as long as he or she can show that what was said was “substantially true”, or that they were “merely expressing an honest opinion based on facts which existed at the time”. It was all true! "it would be necessary for a hotel bringing a claim to prove that the review caused or was likely to cause serious financial loss to the business. " hard after a few days! "it would be sensible for reviewers posting bad reviews to take photographs" - done!
  9. I have just been contacted and basically they have said that if we have posted the truth then there can be no grounds to sue. He cannot prove over the course of a few days that his business has been damaged by our post so - does he have a leg to stand on really?? Thanks guys - I shall keep you all posted!
  10. that was really interesting Rebel thank you! I have just contacted my legal dept of my insurance for advice and am waiting a call back...
  11. oh thanks Ell-enn will have a look see!
  12. I was very tempted Silverfox actually but isn't that opening a can of worms???! We posted, the manager replied and game over in my opinion - he is the one who is taking it further... Everything we said was truthful and we can prove that we have stayed there - we actually told him that this is our first ever review on that site which can be proved (well due to the username I guess). We didn't post it to get anything else from this either!!!
  13. Hello! Thanks for your reply. Well, his letter states that he has been successful in suing someone before and that he would give us 24 hours to think about it - I don't like being threatned tbh and can't see how he can sue us if we have told the truth!! The problem was kind of addressed during the stay but we wanted other people to be aware. We did state that in the review and there are other positive reviews so ours surely won't make much of a difference to him!! We are waiting a reply from our letter which was firm but kind of standing our ground really due to the threat...
  14. Hello, was just wondering if anyone had some advice! We recently stayed in a hotel and posted a review. The owner of the hotel was not happy with the review and is now threatening to sue us. We did not post anything that was untrue so I cannot see how he can... We did reply to his threatening mail stating this so I was just wondering where we stood really. Does anyone have any experience of this? I will post more details if needed but as far as we were concerned, we posted and this matter should have been over! Thanks in advance
