  1. Hi just wondering have you asked them to set up a payment plan with the maximum you can pay a month, in the past Ive missed payments and they have involved debt collectors but spoke with them and set a plan up, might be worth a try, hope it does

    PC World Help

Thanks guys for the replies so far, Dx unfortunately its beyond the 28 days, Cazz sadly no I didnt ask for exchange, as I said I regret not pushing it more and Cazz/Maxx I personally think they should be trained, ive not so much a problem with being sent away, just to Holland bugs me, I think the law needs changing so if a company wants to trade in the UK it must have premises here for customer service/call centre/repair etc. It just seems farcical they employ hundreds if not thousands of technicians countrywide but a: they either not trained or b: if they are but refused to use them and would rather sent tech abroad. Thanks Maxx for explaining what happens if they refuse and I know I must stop with the what ifs, I always think the worst and must stop.

    PC World Help

Hi I bought a Nexus 7 Tablet from PC World on September 12 this year and last friday(Nov 1) less than 2 months it was charging on & off then stopped completely over the weekend so I took it back on Monday to PC World. I didnt have insurance as I couldnt afford it but being less than two months since purchase is not a unreasonable amount of time infact ridiculous that this should happen they should help especially as under the sales of goods act for the first six months the onus is on them, the chap was friendly enough and said it would have to be sent away(which I expected) but I thought somewhere close but no too Holland!!! to Asus HQ I said to RE SOG Act the onus on Retailer and said yes this is us dealing with it, I was shocked but accepted and left though was angry with myself for not pushing it and asking why as the onus is on them, why there own technicians could resolve it. My questions are these, were they right to send to manufactures in Holland and where do I stand if manufactures refuse to repair for whatever reason, surely PC World are legally if not morally responsible Thanks very for listening and would be very grateful for any help/advice
  4. Hi im not even sure if im posting in the right place but I need to ring upton jobcentre in the morning and the only number is the general 0845 number, ive tried sayno0870 but there is no number for upton though they have given me 01603 248701 which is a better general number. I was wondering if anyone a: has a local number for upton (0151 etc) or b: if anyone knows that if I ring the 016 number to jobcentre switchboards wether they will put me through to upton. if anyone could help would be so grateful, thanks
  5. A massive thank you to cerberusalert I got through on that number and have sorted things out, the £12 charge was removed but the £9.95 was interest that the payment plan didnt cover which seems strange but there insisting, so I paid the £24 to get my acc updated, so thankfully im out of arrears, a massive thanks Consumer Action Group
  6. Hi Mike, I did that and it took them 3 days just to email me to tell me to ring them! that said I tweeted them last night and that dept seems more receptive, they emailed me back a few times both last night and this morning, which is impressive for sunday and bank holiday, the claim they have tried the arrears dept but its closed BH and they will query them in the morning, im still gonna try that number again though.
  7. Hi I was just wondering maroon what you meant? Ive just rang that number and its just automated tho I dont know if its because its bank holiday
  8. Thats ok, no probs, no as comet indicated discs were faulty, qnd to get rid and as I said when they put the first new HDD in there was no software to make new ones, I raised the point with comet but again no interest, I agree I think the acer probably would have but I think it was Comet who repaired it, thanks upto now its fine *crosses fingers*
  9. CCMrob if you had bothered to read my post properly, you would have seen that I did and a back up one, both of which FAILED, your spot on about loading windows on a new drive, as i said, their a disgrace
  10. Comet are a joke, I bought a laptop in spring 08, in autumn 09 the hard drive nuked, they told me to do a recovery but the disks didnt work so I took it to comet and they sent it away to there workshop in Birkenhead( I live in Liverpool 10 mins away as was the store I bought it) they replaced the hard drive and passed to the relevant dept to send back to the store, where it sat for almost three weeks:mad2: when eventually did comeback there was no recovery software to make new discs or discovery partition, three months later same again but this time no recovery option, again it was fixed within in days but once again left on a shelf for three weeks awaiting shop delivery, I pleaded with them to do something, I even offered to go and pick it up myself but again steadfast refusal. When I did get it back, to my horror there was nothing on it, no windows and disgustingly a note shoved on top telling me to ring acer on a premium rate number to buy a disc for £50 to restore it, shocking, I rang comet for help only to have the sickening misfortune to get through to the worse most veil arrogant, horrible disgusting customer service rep Richard Thompson I have ever met/spoke who drove me to tears, Id got acer to agree if comet would cover the £50 they would send a disc out(yet more weeks to wait) but this worm refused, to make matters worse he said a supervisor might be able to help but wouldnt put me throught just offered a premium rate number and not even a address, I hung up, went back to the store explained but the again refused to help saying policy had changed and they were not putting windows back on anymore. So with nowhere else to go with them, I went to a local computer repair shop and had to pay £35 pound on a card putting me more into debt to get it reinstalled and shockingly during the repair the discover that one of my memory slots didnt work, so comet had installed a faulty motherboard! but I thought no way was I taking it back for them again, upto now its fine no thanks to Comet That was 2010, I dont know if policy has changed again, but its disgraceful and scandalous that there repairing and sending computers back with nothing on, even worse if your not computer savvy, I am a bit which helped, comet are a disgrace.
  11. Hi I will do, how do I edit my prof? change my avatar, about me etc
  12. Hi maroon thanks for the warm welcome, yes thats exactly what I got, and thank yo so much cerberusalert I shall ring that first thing in the morning, just hope there open on bank holdiays
  13. Hi I desperately need a UK:mad number for Very.co.uk as they have charged me for not paying less than the minimum fee despite me being in a payment plan with them I cant afford the 0845/0844 numbers, I need a local number (0151 etc) to speak to them, I think its disgraceful that companies in the UK are allowed to use the 0845 numbers, their should be a law in place that says that if your operate within the UK that you MUST have a UK number, a UK call centre with clear English speaking people:mad2:
