  1. I paid £800 for this product. I accept the fact that it's twelve months old but even Acer (infoteam) have accepted and agreed that the amount of hardware failures was ridiculous.
  2. Twelve months and a few days (very lucky really) Cheers
  3. Hi, I have been given an authorisation code from Acer to return a faulty laptop to my local Liverpool store. I have had countless hardware problems with this product which has included a return and replacement to the store within the first three days of purchase, and three separate returns to Acer's Plymouth repair centre regarding hardware failures. The problem I have is that I have lost all faith in any Acer products and I don't want a replacement, in fact, I don't want a laptop at all after all the grief over the past twelve months. Can I request a credit note to purchase any other products except a laptop or must I replace the faulty product? I suspect that it may be at the managers discretion but any advice is welcome to prepare me. Many thanks, Davey.
  4. Thank's very much for your reply. The advice given is exactly what I needed to get things moving. Thanks again. Take care, Davey.
  5. Hello, I'm hoping someone can help us out. I have been a social housing tenant (one vision housing, Sefton) for approx one year, and reside in a two bedroom first floor flat with my partner and five month old baby boy. My partner suffered a traumatic labour five months ago and has since suffered from painful back problems caused by an emergency epidural and c-section. Our problem is is that she has problems walking up-and-down the stairs with the baby, and I need advice as to how we approach the Housing association for a possible re-homing. My partner is finding things increasingly difficult as the baby is growing and I am restricted in my assistance as I work long hours. I appreciate that people may consider this as an excuse to be re-homed, but we are happy at the property and have considered purchasing it in the very near future. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Davey.
  6. Hi, I am hoping that someone can help me in my present situation. I am a social housing tenant residing in a lovely two bedroomed property with my partner and two week old baby son. I have contacted the local housing association on numerous occations (before the birth of my child), to express my concerns that cigarette smoke is ingressing into my property from either the flat next door or below. The cigarette smoke ingresses through wall ventilation grills or through the sound-proof large floor boards, and spreads throughout the property on occations. I am concerned that the housing association disregard my concerns and I feel that they have acted appalingly in responding to the health risk issues that i've mentioned. They advised that they would initially send out an inspector approx thirty days after the initial phone call. The inspector attended, had a brief look and explained that he would appoint the associations preferred contractor to 'board over and seal' around an exposed piece of original floorboard to try and prevent the smoke ingress. I waited four weeks with no contact by the building contractor and therefore requested that the same inspector re-visit to assess again. The inspector visited and could not remember his initial visit and advised that he would appoint the builders again. Two weeks later I recieved a visit from the building contractors joiner to assess the works and was advised that the builders office would contact for an appointment for works. I heared nothing, received an unannounced visit from the builder (with no app date and time set) and advised that I could not allow the works as I was leaving for work!. Phew. Anyway, I carried-out the repair works myself without success as the smoke continues to ingress. My partner gave birth to our son, and after expressing our concerns to a health visiter and midwife, they both agreed that this is of a major cause for concern and have both enthusiastically written us a letter recommending that we be re-homed in a suitable property. I am sorry to go on so much but I feel that I must cover the relevant information to hopefully allow someone to help us out. The housing association have been abrupt and unwilling to listen to any of my concerns. I am forever being told that they will reply and call back but never do, and I fear that the customer service staff take my issues as personal insults and simply cannot understand my frustrations. I am not prepared to accept any more propositions for repairs as this is now more of a health issue not just to the baby but to ourselves also. I carry out fire surveys on a regular basis and know through experience that issues regarding smoke ingress are difficult to prevent. I am now deeply concerned for the health and wellbeing of my baby and althought he is not directly in the worst affected room at present, eventually he will have to move to the affected nursery. I require assistance or advice in how I go about dealing with this issue and what chance I stand in being re-homed. I appreciate that some people (especially the housing association) may suspect that this is an excuse to move, but I can assure people that the property has been modernised to a very nice standard and therfore I would request a similar decent property. Please understand that I never intended to and am not selfish enough to move home so soon after the birth of a child. Sorry for going on Can anyone help? Many many thanks. Davey.
  7. Thank you for replying to my post. I am working full time at the moment but now supporting my partner who is receiving maternity pay.
  8. Dear Hallowitch, You have been so kind in the past in helping my partner and myself deal with a paste Equita Bailiff, and your help or advice would be warmly appreciated concerning my present situation. Here goes... My Mother contacted me today to say that an Equita Bailff had visited her property and listed and posted an inventory of my families vehicles which are not registered in my name. I no longer reside at the property and havn't for a number of years - so why they have visited my parents address is a mystery. As you can imagine, my Mum is quite distressed as they've demanded a sum of £525 for unpaid council tax arrears (including almost double the value of original bill) and she is now frightened that they will attempt to claim possessions that do not belong to me and are not registered in my name. My Mum contacted the Bailiff to advise that she has not spoken to me (a little white lie) but the Bailiff insisted that I had personally given him that address on a previous occation. Please respect that she lied to enable me to find the requested sum in short notice. I am currently residing with my girlfriend and two week old baby and I am a named joint tenant who consistently pays my monthly council tax fees. The problem is, I am frightened that the Bailiff may track me down to my current address through the council tax records and I am frightened as my girlfried and baby should not live in fear due to my past negligence in missing two months council tax installments. My main concern is for my partner and new born baby. I intend to pay the full amount but can't find the amount to pay in full. Can the bailiff enter and seize goods from my mums home? Has the bailiff the power to trace me at my new address? Can I in any way request that the council take back the debt? Please help as I am living in fear. Many many thanks, Davey.
  9. Thank you very much for your help, I'll send this letter as soon as possible.
  10. Yeah, how ironic. Ha. I wish you the best of luck. Please keep me informed.
  11. Please help! I have been advised by Equita that a Bailiff is due to attend my parents property for an un-paid council tax bill (£385.00) even though I am not residing at that address. I have contacted Equita explaining that I am prepared to pay back the outstanding balance on a monthly basis and that I apologise for the delay as the letters were sent to my parents home and not my own, but was advised that this was now a bailiff matter only as they had sent me letters advising that they would recieve a court order for action. I have tried to contact the council tax department to resolve the matter but to no avail. I am prepared to start paying but I am frightened to give my new address as my partner is heavily pregnant and I m concerened for her health if I start to recieve visits from these monkeys!! Can they continue to send baliffs to my parents home? Is there any possible way of arranging a monthly payment plan? If they do not contact myself will they pass on the debt details to other debt collecting agencies? Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.s I am aware that it was a silly mistake to previousley fall behind on payments but I genuinley forgot about it. Thanks very much.
