  1. Hi, can anyone offer any advice please? I've been working for this company for over 3 years and disclosed an unspent conviction on my application form, both online and on paper. Earlier this year I had to complete a Disclosure Scotland form and the conviction came back listed. I've had a quick meeting with management but at the time I genuinely thought the conviction had become spent. However, on further investigation, it is still unspent. I've since apologised to managers about my mistake and they said they'd get back to me but have not done so as yet. Does anyone know what the possibilities might be and, if adverse, how I can go about challenging them, please?
  2. Hi, I've just recently received a repayment form for £493 of overpaid Tax Credits. This is the first demand I've received and I was expecting it. However, at this moment in time, although I'm working full time in a low paid job, almost all of my net disposable income goes towards paying off debts to [1] Halifax: Bank Loan; [2] Halifax: Overdrawn current a/c and charges; [3] Legal Services Agency (court costs - I lost) - who have already attached some form of legal charge against my home. Whatever's left over is for food, electricity, council tax, water rates, etc. I'm currently walking to and from work which takes about 3 and 3/4 hours every working day. Hence, I'm thinking that I should [1] write to Tax Credits Office to acknowledge their demand; [2] contact Legal Services Agency and ask them to take a lesser amount so that I can pay the difference to HMRC. So, does anyone have anything they can add, please? All help gratefully received! Britannicus.
  3. Hi, Spud, The person from Morris was a young woman, very presentable, very professional. Not nasty, thankfully! She did say to the judge, "... my instructions are to seek full repossession..." in response to one of his questions, but the judge was having none of it. He was very friendly, seemed very approachable, and decided in my favour. Yippeee!B
  4. Hi, Lea-HTH, I did as you suggested and took my mother with me. (Judge seemed to like her).B
  5. Well, went prepared, thanks to CAG and caggers.Saw the duty officer (I think from the CAB) and we arranged that I should pay £271 a month. This is in addition to SMI.Judge agreed. Expressly followed Norgan with the words "... following Norgan ...". So, my folks get to keep their grand and pay over almost £30 a month less! Magic!Other side (Halifax/Band of Scotland) wanted full repossession. Judge unimpressed by their arguments (thankfully, they DID impress me!)And, he wished me good luck!! So, I get to live another day!B
  6. Hi, I s anyone able to help me, please? If I need to prepare a statement can I base it one found elsewhere on CAG? B
  7. Hi, Lea-HTH, Thanks for your advice, too. I hadn't thought of asking someone to come with me but I'll give them a call later and see if they'd be willing. I definitely don't want anything but an adjournment. Just about the only thing I have left is the residual equity in the property. To lose that will mean a one-way ticket to bankruptcy! Warmly,B
  8. Hi, Spud, Thanks for the advice - "To be forewarned is to be forearmed" - I'll be certain to remain calm under fire!B
  9. Hi, Ell-enn, I've now managed to ring the court office. I've been told that someone from the Citizens Advice Bureau should be there tomorrow to help me. (I haven't arranged anything with them).Warmly,B
  10. =================================================OK, will do!It might take me a bit, though. I didn't bring my mobile (doh) and I'll have to go home. I'll give them a call as soon as I get there and then come back to you.I appreciate your help!!B
  11. ========================Erm, well, sadly, as yet, it isn't. I've had every intention of selling it quickly - via one of those quick-sale estate agents - but, as yet, I haven't made any approach to any of them - the news report that several unnamed were under investigation by the OFT sort of put me off a bit.B
