  1. its not a one off issue with RBS - i know a few people who have had debits cancelled and payments made early. I even had to get another account created to fix the first account a year ago. I stated that to the guy on the phone about who owns churchill and he said yes but they arent the same. Any ideas on how to get to a manager ? each number is based on going through customer service
  2. Didnt receive that letter, either from the RBS or Churchill, because i have a visa (UKBA) my paperwork has been held for a year so I couldnt change banks (all the documents needed were being held). Otherwise I would have been out of the RBS months ago with the last set of issues of setting up a direct debit. So Spoke to Churchill and they will allow me to have another insurance policy, but I would now have to pay for the full year - even though i have had direct debit payments for 4 years with no issues. They really want to hold onto their clients, not. Really disappointed in Churchill, proved from phone calls and payments in the past if there was any issues i made sure that I was up to date with everything. Not sure now even if i want to continue a policy with them at all.
  3. I have been driving from the age of 16 in Australia, moved to the Uk 4 years ago. Had an international drivers license for a year and a full UK one for the last 3. Had a Churchill account until just recently when it was cancelled due to money coming out of the account on the wrong date and the RBS cancelling the direct debit without my knowledge. Have had no contact from RBS in concern to the cancelled direct debit or the funds not being withdrawn. Had no contact from Churchill to say the account was being closed, allowing me time to make the payment to stop the account being closed. Now Im just about buggered because I dont have the years on my license to get insurance elsewhere and also the issue with the account being cancelled without my knowledge. I cant seem to find anyone willing to insure me now. Really has put me in a bind as i was already limited by the fact im on a visa in the UK which seems to go against me on insurance (and everything else) - if someone can suggest a car insurance company that may insure me can you please let me know. I have made a email complaint to Churchill - havent heard anything back and not sure of the 0800 numbers - thanks
  4. I was with Churchill for a number of years, till this week when they cancelled my account, with little or no documentation. What they are saying they sent I didnt receive - didnt even get a bounced direct debit letter from my bank saying the payment didnt happen. Really quite angry with the fact I can be a great customer with no claims for so long and they just cut me off without letting me know.
  5. didnt know who they were - so now I am informed and I did let her know in no uncertain terms that that phone call will be included in the information given to the ombudsman
  6. got a lovely phone call from them today - had 15 missed calls from them - they are rude as is 3 itself. Tried to explain had no service from 3 since sept and had taken them to the ombudsman and thats where it should still be. Cant believe that they have rung that many times over christmas - warning USE 3 at your own risk
  7. Hi, after having a very recent (this week) conversation with a local Manager of Brighthouse, shes told me that people from the store ringing about money owed, they can only leave one message per day - they can ring up to 6 times a day. Well I have more than once had 6 messages in one day from one person from brighthouse. Take notes of times and dates and phone messages of all calls made, they can loose their job if found to be harrasing you. This is from the store manager herself. Bully boy tactics is all I can say they do - threats to come and pick up a laptop they have in their hands because its been in for repair for 7 weeks.
  8. Hi might be a stupid question, but if BrightHouse (the trading name for Caversham Finance Ltd) and Caversham Insurance (Malta) Ltd, are subtly enforcing the purchase of insurance (DLC and OSC) that isnt needed - due to home contents and household insurance etc being on the purchasers current home and contents are they then misselling insurance ? or even suggesting that you must take out their DLC to take the product home, isnt that therefore "forced" misselling as well, as you must have the insurance before you take the hire purchase out at the time you sign the agreement (and what happens if you get home and contents after you have signed the hire purchase, from what I have seen you cant have the DLC taken off the original purchase, you have to sign a new agreement ?) , and although the current ruling covers banks and building societys, just asking as I dont know the rules of the UK as Im Australian and I know the rules of hire purchase in Australia. Hope this isnt a stupid question and can I have some clarity please
  9. hi does anyone have a recent copy of the terms and conditions in concern to Brighthouse's terms and conditions on hire purchase thanks, cant seem to find it on their website (not that I expect to ) thanks Donna
