  1. Hi all, sent 2 SARs weeks ago to the halifax, to reclaim PPI on my loan and mortgage, and to also reclaim penelty charges. Well received a letter back saying they cant process it as it has........(come to their attention that my signature does not match theirs on the database, and can I go to my local branch with ID to update and verify my signature) The SARs I sent were joint ones with my partner, we both signed the SARs but put crosses through, so it could not be copied. Yet they only need mine. The reason for that is they collared my partner while she was in bank and rushing, and told her to sign something as they needed to update and were telling all the customers to do it..........(yeah right). They were kind enough to send back both postal orders however lol So any suggestions guys what I can do...............without them getting my signature Thanks.
  2. Well got a letter back from Blemain saying they dont accept cash payments direct, and that includes postal orders. Oh and they have sent me no paperwork back that I requested with my SAR........... but they have kept my £10 for good measure it would seem!!!
  3. Hi Figaro, I am just waiting for papers back at the mo. I couldnt send them off as soon as I'd hoped, anyway I will keep you updated.
  4. Recieved a text from nintendo this morning, saying they have received the console. Now just received another text saying progress is on hold and to ring them. Apparently the console has water contamination, I'm really finding this hard to believe as my son barely played with it, and I expressed my doubt to the person I was speaking with. Anyway the cost to fix the problem is £50.50. The warranty doesn't cover accidental damage it says. Can anyone share their views if they do believe nintendo to be 1 of the decent companies left you can trust, because I really begrudge paying this as I really do find it hard to believe. thanks.
  5. Hi I bought my son a DSI from toys r us in preston on 12/11/11. This was a present for his birthday 24th dec. Anyway it worked for about 1 month if that then packed in, kept freezing and just not working. So for the past 5 months its not been used. I have FINALLY just found my receipt, so my question is..... if I return it to the store will I get a replacement?? as I don't really want to send off to a manufacture and have to wait more, I just want it kept simple. I've heard a bit about a 6 month rule, and from the day of purchase 12/11/11 to today 10/12/12, would it still be classed as in the 6 months period before the 12th of this month.???. Like I said I just want a simple swap, I dont want to trvel all the way to the store to be turned away. Any help gratefully received guys thanks.
  6. Hi Well just to let everyone know, after various e-mails, of kind of sounding like we knew what we were doing, she was offered £20, but we refused this and they then offered the 2nd £20. She wasn't really expecting to be offered anything so decided to hold out, especially as they had made 2 offers and she received a final offer for the full amount plus the deposits. )))
  7. Hi I've been speaking to my mum about PPI, and she said she has paid this in the past on both a mortgage and a credit card. (she was told on one of them it was like/or kind of a death policy, and would be very beneficial). However I think they where both applied round about 20 years ago, plus its been years since she's had these accounts...........Is it poss for her to still make a claim???. Also she doesn't think she can remember either account number on the mortgage or CC, plus she's moved twice since. She was with halifax for both, so is there a way or letter she could send to get this information?? Thanks
  8. Hi I forgot to ask, when I receive the SAR info, do I only claim to when the PPI was cancelled on the loan and the mortgage? Thanks
  9. Hi ims21, No not at the moment, I will have to send off a SAR to be sure of dates and totals. Do you think they are likely to payout as both were defaulted on and also not paid off yet?(both PPI and TMP ahve stopped on them though now because of this). Thanks
  10. BTW, When we took out our mortgage, we were also given insurance TMP- total mortgage protection. We never had a choice in this, or told we could shop around, just that we had to have it........is that correct with it being a mortgage or is that mis-sold aswell??. This also stopped about 2/3 years ago as we fell behind with payments on the mortgage,(had it for about 6 years i think), so we just got a letter 1 day saying it was cancelled. Thanks
  11. HI, Me and my partner took out a loan with the halifax a few years ago, and were sold PPI. I dont think the lady specifically said that our loan would be refused if we didnt take PPI, but it was definately implied, however she did say we were more likely to be accepted for the loan if we did.(we actually had good credit at the time). I know we had initially said no, especially not really knowing what it meant, but obviously we wanted to get accepted so agreed. I think a few years later poss 1/2 I got a call from the bank regarding the loan (well i presume it was for that loan, we had 2) asking how getting the loan went and were we happy? obviously not knowing about mis-selling back then, we just thought it was all the norm and said yes. The thing is I want to know is could we claim on this as we defaulted on the loan after a few years I think, and I think the PPI stopped when the debt got passed to a DCA. I mean it might not even be worth claiming as I said we fell behind after poss 2/3 if that, and with the loan not fully paid off not sure if its even poss. I am about to start repaying this loan when I set up a payment plan, but will probably get all my papers just to check, but i'm pretty sure the PPI stopped a long time ago. As we couldnt keep up with repayments. Thanks
  12. Hi Ford, well I was made redundant about 1.5 years ago,( thankfully not for too long) but I'm pretty sure the charges carried on. I've got a better paid job now, and slowly trying to catch up with everything, I even almost had my house repossessed, it was a very bad time, especially trying to catch up on 1 bill then missing another. I really wish I had known about that. Come to think of it with my mortgage too I dont think even when a financial advisor visited twice about my mortgage arrears that was never mentioned (unless they dont do it on a mortgage).
