  1. They only sent it standard parcels so no tracking (if they sent them but i now doubt it), i had a phonecall today from trading standards saying under companies house the business was dissolved on the 1st May 2012 so i emailed the company who are obviously still trading and deny they are a kaput company and trading standards are lying aswell as companies house! I offered to go up today to collect the covers they said they don't allow visitors on the premises, so i said stick them in a taxi and i'll pay (as i'm only 8 miles away) they said they wouldn't do that so i said send them same day courier and i'd pay again but they refused. I suppose on the good side they can't sue me leaving a negative review on a company that technically no longer exists!
  2. Hi i was hoping someone could help, i purchased online some sofa covers 2 months ago from a company that makes them to order, i purchased from the clearance part of the site. After 2 months i got an email to say they had been sent via Royal Mail standard parcels 3-5 days, 3 weeks later i was still waiting and i informed the company of that. After a few days of hearing nothing i emailed them saying enough was enough and i wanted a refund, they replied i'd have to wait until they heard off royal mail and as they were 'clearance items' i wasn't entitled to a refund anyway and i'd only get a credit note. After i mouthed off a bit via email they said they would replace the covers but i wasn't prepared to wait another 2months for them to be made so i declined and stated i wanted my money back to which they refused and said they could make the covers priority but never said in what timescale and if it takes them 2months to make normally i imagine their idea of priority wasn't the same as mine. I spoke to trading standards who said regardless if they were clearance items or not i was entitled to a refund or a replacement (but as stated i didn't want replacements) and to send a standard letter giving them 7 days to reimburse me under breach of contract. I sent the letter recorded and that same day i knew they'd got the letter i got an email (suprise suprise) from the company saying that Royal mail had tried to deliver the parcel and got no response so sent it back! So i went into my local sorting office that afternoon and they went through all their delivery sheets for that week and there was no record and besides the fact i had no card and somebody was home all that week waiting in for the darn parcel!! I replied to that fact telling them i had been to the sorting office and i was now getting pretty peeved with them for messing me about and having to take time out from my own job to try and sort this out and i was willing to go to court ect if i didn't get my refund ( i truly believe the covers were either never made and certainly never sent!) They are absolutely adamant they will not refund and because they were clearance items that i'm only allowed replacements but on their own terms and conditions yes it states replacements if faulty but the fact is i've never ever had them! Being completely fed up i left a review for their company stating the above and now i've had an email saying its slanderous/libel blah blah and if i don't remove the review they'll take me to court (but its the truth and i have all the emails from them to prove it!) Can anyone advise on the next step its not as if they were expensive under £70 and i paid via visa debit. Also i found this in the distance selling regs which i sent to the company and yet they are still saying no to a refund! 3.36 Where goods are lost in transit from you to the consumer you will need to either send new goods or offer the consumer a full refund, including delivery charges. See paragraph 3.20 for more information.
  3. My car isn't even expensive infact I know it won't cover the debt either. Its an old S reg fiat worth more to me than them as its reliable for my small dog grooming business.
  4. Thank you wonky donkey i'm unsure what a levy is? On the letter it says its a notice of distress from an order of court on the 27th July and they have seized, distrained or impounded on the premises the goods specified below in the inventory (which is the car details). The car hasn't been taken though nor clamped or anything else? and my husband has 6 days to contact them to arrange payment and i remove the good to defect the distress i will be liable for prsecution. Does that sound about right? The costs are: Sum O/S and costs= £90 bailiffs fee= £75 attendance and removal cost=£200
  5. Can anyone help? i don't think i'll get any sleep tonight and i don't know if i should ring the company in the morning if i can't get hold of my husband to explain the situation.
  6. I wonder if anyone can help, my husband and i seperated over 3yrs ago although we are still on friendly terms for the sake of our daughter. Earlier this year i crashed my car and was without a vehicle and when my daughter went into hospital my husband kindly gave me his car, this is where the trouble has arose. A few weeks later and my old car was wrote off my husband said i could keep his car as he didn't need it as he had other arrangements with a work friend and he reamended the insurance on it to add myself on as a named driver. He also changed the address on the car to my address but he was still his name on the log book as when i did a quote for insurance it was sky high and it was better for him to carry me on the existing insurance and the documents come to me so i could tax it. (it made logical sense to me then and it was my idea) Prior to him giving me the car he had apparently been stopped for having no MOT certificate (it had expired by 3 weeks totally his fault) and the fine has come here but what letters have come for him at my address i have not opened, told him off and left it at that and he mentioned he owed a fine that he was going to pay. When i got home tonight the above group have called to collect on this debt and left a letter addressed to my husband to say they will remove the car and to call them asap. I've tried to contact my husband to no avail does anyone know what i can do? i'm going to put the car into my name now asap because technically i'm the owner? i don't have an address for my husband apart from the fact hes staying in a B&B as hes a contractor and thats what he does and i only see him every few months when he comes to see our daughter. Can i get something in writing off my husband to state he doesn't live at my address nor has he ever done? i'm really worried as i've never been in debt and never had anything like this and i don't know what to do? I'm self employed and i need the car for work desperately but not being in my name i can't prove its mine can i? Many thanks..(sorry its so long i didn't want to miss anything out)
