  1. thanks Andy, would there be any benefit in me going into the University to protest (in a calm) way, as a continued paying student surely they have a responsibility?
  2. so up until now I have a huge student debt and a forthcoming ccj.... what an accomplishment!
  3. well got round to ringing them and the only thing they will accept is payment in full! I cannot afford that so ccj it is
  4. right I will ring them and try try try and be pleasant, professional and calm!
  5. oh yes hang on there is a address and phone number its central recoveries bromsgrove
  6. thanks, and went there yesterday and they said it had nothing to do with them! it was with control account, even though there is nothing on form to suggest this. Will I still get a ccj if I admit to claim? (prob stupid question!).
  7. Andy the claimant is the university I am still at. The same University who have threatened to stop all my university access if I refuse to pay including graduating and in there words completion of my course. I don't think I can defend realistically.... I am however almost very angry! thanks for your advice
  8. its from Northampton county court and had date of service stamp 31st October
  9. having trouble with picture so just thought id detail the particulars of claim the claimant claims £540 in respect of overpayment of bursary made by the claimant to the defendant, details of which have been provided to the defendant as per the following: debt issues date 8/2/13 Due date 10/3/13 amount £540 frustrating thing is I offered to go into university as I am there full time to discuss, but the finance man refused! I would love to contest but have limited knowledge and not much time, also cant afford a ccj on top of nearly 30k of student debt from my desire to be a teacher!
  10. many thanks and it has date of service 31st October a slight update... I went to university finance today to ask how do I fill this in if I am a student with no income? they told me they had never seen this type of form and was from control account even though there is nothing about control account on it!!??
  11. Hello Last year I was paid a bursary of £500 from university. 3 weeks later they asked for it back and said they had paid it in error. I am a student with a wife! who has a job. They told me as they had learnt my wifes salary (40000) I wasn't eligible. however this was my last year at university and I had recived bursarys every year without any problems. I explained the money was already gone and I was unable to pay. Anyway to cut a long story short via control account, who I ignored (consumer action reading and advice), And also some threatening emails from university, I have now received a claim form for the full amount. Due to still being at university (teacher training), and being threatened by them they will in effect ban me from carrying out my studies I am keen to pay the money back. However, I still cannot afford the whole amount at once.... What can I do? is it wise to visit the university and speak to someone? or is it too legal now?? Thanks in advance....
  12. oh sorry but recycled the letter already....
  13. anyway just an update... got a letter this morning 'notice of intention to instruct solicitors, to issue summons'! from TNC am I right to continue to ignore, think the answer is yes! The most pathetic thing about this letter is it is riddled with spelling mistakes, I think that annoys me just as much as these stupid letters they keep sending!!
  14. thanks mike I will have a look and draft a letter later today, we have two other accounts with them so it madness. All that keeps going round in my head is there tv advert 'the helpful bank' !!!
  15. Hi, when the cheque was issued the account was at its limit of 100 o/d and had been like this for 2 years. It was a 'dormant' account that we had forgotten about. I stupidly in a rush picked up the cheque book and wrote a £4 cheque for a school club, which opened the natwest chrges floodgate!
