  1. apparently the primary shaft bearings on the gear box wear and cause end float of the shaft these are tapered roller bearings this job shouldn’t really be cost £1500 quid and while your thinking never by another ford think vw as well. i just had clutch replaced at my local garage on my galaxy who couldn’t bleed it up,they replaced master cylinder purchased a vacuum bleeder at fords and vw advice. And because of my impending holiday and 2 staff being at a funeral i had to go and sort it myself. A good tip here for anyone struggling to bleed a clutch or about to fit one fill a small bucket with brake fluid and charge the cylinder 1st by compressing the piston while it is submerges take out of bucket lightly tap it with a spanner to encourage air bubbles to rise and back in bucket repeat until air bubbles stop rising in the bucket of fluid then fit to gear box worked first attempt for me you just need a large amount of brake fluid
