  1. Alrighty, thanks. Something I'll have to sort out Monday morning and get paid up. No knowledge of the warning though, not to say it didn't come though.
  2. Not seen it. Was a business account for an off-site premises, and had been on leave. Came back to find a worried social worker trying to calm down two adults with severe learning difficulties who had received the visit. Awaiting sight of the warrant myself, as would be my section responsible for payments.
  3. The grants are paid based on the time the student was in attendance, and are meant to cover the full academic year, which is 1st September to the 31st August. A student is only entitled to grant payments up until the last date of attendance, so afetr the pro-rata an overpayment of £600 does sound about right. This is covered within Paragraph 38 of The Education (Student Support) Regulations 2009, and was also written into the contracts she signed with the SLC. If she opts to return to education, she will unfortunately be ineligible for any financial support until the overpayment is cleared. The SLC have also been stepping up their legal action of late.
  4. Can someone please provide some information as to whether it is a requirement for a utility company to confirm the date the warrant application was going before a court? Just trying to get to the bottom of something for someone and cannot find the information. My thoughts were that there should have been a summons issued and that it couldn't just go before mags.
  5. CCJ may get set aside if you apply for it, based on not receiving paperwork. However, fee loan entitlement goes on the date of last attendance, not the date at which the university withdraw the student. With that in mind, could be that they were not eligible, as criteria for eligibility for a fee loan is that they are in attendance 3 months after the first day of the academic year.
