Hi guys,
Statements received late (5/8/06), they're lucky I was on holiday!
Not as much as I expected to claim on both accounts; one actually clears the overdraft ha ha....
Preliminary letter sent today.

Hi all,
'scuse my ignorance, but why do we need the manual intervention info. bit, isn't the statements enough? Would they have charged for this intervention?
many thanks

Hi there,
been browsing for a while today. Waiting for bank statements. Your comment about size of statements made me laugh out loud!!!!

my first letter was exactly the same, I thought the wording 'out of order accounts' meant it is a closed account. Is this true. I've posted a similar question on my link, then browsed around and found yours. Sorry for repetition.
Good luck.

Oh, I see.
This is going to get complicated. Barclays 'terminated' both our accounts due, to hubby's redundancy and lack of income for a short time. This had a snowball effect where lots of charges were incurred whilst negotiations took place with other companies; DDs & SOs were renegotiated etc...
So there's a section of the letter from Peter Townsend that states:
'furthermore in the context of managing day to day transactions arising from out of order accounts, the bank does not hold the info. you requesed in a form that would be covered by the DPA' he also said the statements will be supplied 'shortly'
I'm tempted to wait a couple of weeks to see what happens.

Hi Barracad,
Thanks for that.
We have two accounts, my husbands personal and the joint one.
DPA letter sent 19/6/06 in the end. (skint due to bank charges....)
Standard Reply received 22/6/06 (with returned postal orders) stating:
...will issue statements free...schedule of charges turned aside.....manual intervention not covered under DPA as is not 'personal data' this is in no way an admission to no such manual intervention has taken place...
To date still awaiting statements.
I take it this is the standard blurbbb....
Question: Do I give them 40 working days or incl. weekends?
Will definitely be contributing to site on completion.

Hi,
Well done, and congrats. Did they threaten to close your account at any stage?

Myself and hubby always moan about how we get ripped off for charges and fees on our bank account - but have never done anything about it. Now we've had enough and are about to start fighting back. We have three kids to support - and as far as we're concerned, that's money that could've been put to good use!
DPA letter typed tonight and ready to send tomorrow! We also have a bank loan. Will they try and offset any refund due against that?
New claim started
in Halifax Bank and Bank of Scotland

Hi,
Thought I'd join you guys. Starting claim against halifax today on behalf of hubby's personal account.
This is our 4th claim against these institutions. Hope I'm not undertaking too much! Just want to get it sorted and out the way. Wiil have to keep a close eye on the diary 'me thinks'...
