  1. Thank you! I have given 28 days notice this morning... took pot luck I could do it. They have not done epc, so no epc included in the marketing, so guess they are breaking ST law? Is my contract null and void if this is the case? thanks again.
  2. Our house is on the market, the estate agents are useless, 4 viewings in almost eight weeks! we have to give 28 days notice but are tied in for 12 weeks, week 8 today, can I give my 28 days notice today, or do I have to wait until the 12 weeks are up then give notice? Also they said they would pay for the epc, which I am sure is required by law before house is marketed (?) this they haven't done yet..... are they in breach of contract? thanks folks!!

  4. My son had an accident while working, he drives a lorry, he was on the motorway and was involved in an accident involving 3 other cars. Accident was not his fault, he has whiplash and back pain, and cant work/drive at the moment. He is not getting any pay, I would have thought that he would be on normal pay as accident at work. Does any one know the law? thank you.

  13. I have read that the turbo failure is due to the 3rd injector leaking, a carbon build up from the leaking injector in the oil, then blocks filters, and there are several in the tdci engine, just needs one, (usually dpf) to block for turbo failure. this the link to the Honest John website http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=91541#m1055461
  14. was only advised to drive at 3000 revs for 20 mins, didnt do it, sounded extreme. but i regulally done 50/60 miles hour for 4/5 miles. Havent read the handbook never had a problomatic car! Car had 95000 when i bought it, 98 000 when the turbo went the first time, 820 then turbo went again.
  15. Yes dpf was 'regenerated' after first failure, according to their bill took them 0.55 hr and cost £55 +vat. I have been told to drive at 3000 revs for about 20 mns to 'regenerate' it your self.= by mechanic (my usual guy) who diagnosed the intial problem. Bought car for £3780 Before i relised my rights with soga I bought a new turbo £365 When it first failed and had no response frm trader went and bought an old car for £700. To swap insurances from focus to astra and back again cost£45 each time. To get car back from garage £40 and their diagnostic charge £165 I have run out of spare money!
  16. No other issues before first failure, no oil lights engine management lght no smoke nothing. went out to pick up son half way there went into limp mode, by the time i got to son (about 1 mile) a horendous rattle from the engine. Got it home the mechanic put computor on and dpf blocked. It is a known fault in the engine, ford recomend a new engine. I allowed the trader to get it fixed to givr him a chance I told him it was an inherant fault, if he is going tho replace turbo all oil pipes need changing infact its a 5 to 6 hour job, on the invoice he gave me for the job he had done 1.7 hours to change turbo oil feed pipe new filter and oil, did not flush the engine ( which one ford garage told to do, the other he rang said new engine)and replace ALL oli pipes. just a bad job done. 820 miles later turbo starts to rattle again so pulled over and called aa who took it back to repair garage.( who are on the same site as trader who i bought car from) they said the oil pump had failed, repair would in excess of £300. I have the car at home now, cost me £40 to get it home, and £165 for them to tell me what was supposedly wrong. Have now resarted court claim. Have a look at the Honest John forum there is loads on there about this fault.
  17. My son woked for kf some years ago, haned g=his notice in as got told to tell oap owner of old fiesta, that she needed brakes doing and wheel allignment, to the tune of £250!! all she went in for was a tyre. AA have taken back to garage what to do next ,do itake back car after 2nd repair or demand money back! Have lost all faith in car and garage! What do i do next?? regards Jill

  20. Hi, almost a year ago, we decided to rent out a room as money was tight, double room £85 week furnished, and included tea and coffee. Fred (not real name) come and viewed, liked the room, he said he would be here monday to friday, so 4 nights, so i said to him as he was only here 4 nigghts i would do him an evening meal for those 4 evenings. Fred moved in, after abou t3 months he was starting to stay over the weekend and having a meal on sunday (roast dinner, my fault as asked if he would like one the first weekend, after that it seemed to be expected!) now he hardly goes home. Sunday he tells us that he is moving out this thursday (1/3/12) and wants 3 weeks rent back, as he paid it in last week (bank transfer). can he do this? what are my legal rights? What i feel i should do is not return his rent as notice wasnt reasnable, and as he paid monthly it should have been a months notice, and all the ''extras'' he's had (he was also eating cakes and using our marmalade, jam etc also taking our teabags to work). if he wants to stay the rest of the month thats up to him. opinions please
  21. Hi Guys, (and gals) I bought a focus 1.6 TDI on 13th october 2011 3 months later turbo goes, you all know the story, my usual mechanic wont touch it, nor will an independent ford mechanic, ford mechanic said to take it back to dealers i bought it from, phoned consumer agency, so i can go 'armed', i do a have case. Goods not of satisfactory quality and not fit for purpose, (1979 sale of goods act) have to put it in writing. will let you know outcome.
  22. Hi, Bankfodder, the story was on the one show last night (thursday 23/6) thepolice I believe are very close to an arrest if they havent done so already.
  23. Hi Bank fodder, I am one of Giddy's 7! Lukily one of theother seven who scans ebay looking for adds that may be scams, found me, and alerted me, ihadent paidany money over to the [problematic], and was able to refund every body, some werent happy as my feedback shows! Ialso got ebay fee'srefunded so not out of pocket, I found job in jobcentre as well, the job i applied for originated from milton keynes, and they were trading as swift-tech ltd. I still have all the emails if required, and documents sent via email. I have tried telling the police (hampshirein my case) they told me to go to action fraud website which is pretty useless. Have spoken to news of the world, no joy. and the one show, nothing from them yet either. I dont mind talking to any one, andgiving info over, but dont want my name etc used as these people have our addresses, work history etc. the info that the ''7'' have mustered lookslike thescammers are in the london area, can narrow that down for you, privatly. hope this helps. ,
