  1. I have been away on holiday, not been here much...hence the lack of posting. It will be soon..........
  2. And to add to DX comment, have you done a CCA request?
  3. eerm, DX, they are a debt purchase company. Ensure you keep all the relevant proof that your payments have reached them. I bet they are having a bad month and are looking for a bit more money so they can but their next tranche of debt. Think, if they could get an extra pound from each of their paying customers how much richer that would make them Keep to your original payments as that is what you previously agreed - dont pay more than you can afford, also request everything in writing. Dont validate who you are when they phone you
  4. I like your way of thinking here.......
  5. if they do phone you, impact are known not to verify DPA correctly - something to look out for if you decide to answer.
  6. Surely an incorrect DOB will render this unenforcable - that is disgraceful from the salesperson - also a bit naughty from you I would assume that an incorrect date of birth means that it is not you? Also if you check your report, check that this is on there. If it is not then I am sure you can do something on this. It will be interesting to see what some of the more experienced members say........
  7. Then surely the DOB on their file will differ to yours???????????????????????????????????/
  8. DX Are you sure? I think that is equifax, I was sure Experian was as as I stated. maybe I am going mad
  9. Do you know the start date of these contracts? If it was before you moved out, they would have sent you monthly statements surely? CCA does not apply to mobile phone contracts as stated above.
  10. In that case I beleive at the moment it is just threats trying to frighten you into paying. I assumed as much as Hillsden mostly purchase bank debt - but wanted to make sure - may have been a new aquisition. I would suggest waiting for others to comment though - it has been a while since I dealt with DLC
  11. If you pay back less than the outstanding balance as a settlement then it will mark your credit file as 'settled' if you pay it all back, it will mark as 'satisfied' - well thats for Experian anyway. They both reflect much better than nothing however 'satisfied' will carry more weight when making a lending decision towards you. I hope that has answered your question. As per DX though, I would make steops to see if they are entitled to your hard earned cash and you could do a CCA request
  12. If you do this, then it will link you. If you already have existing commitments at your new address such as a mobile phone contract / bank account, you will probably already be linked. Aside from the CCJ's have you checked the enforcability of these 'debts'? You may want to consider a CCA request to each.
  13. CCJ's should reflect on your credit report - go to Experian or equifax and request this online. I beleive the cost is minimal - sometimes free
  14. I agree with Nicklea here. I think it best to do what is necessary at the time rather than the kitchen sink
  15. I have two accounts with HFO. One that there will be a thread on, the other I won back in early 2010, Mr. T and Mr. C and Mr. A were most perturbed! I think I know what I am doing with this bunch. Checked out your HFO threads and they were great. Anyway, lets not digress from this topic.
  16. DonkeyB I have no love for DCA's. hence the reason I am here !!!!! maybe I dont hate them as much as others. As this is a forum, i thought it would be a place where people can share how they have dealt with their problems. I have merely shared this! However I do welcome your comments, I am here to learn how to deal with debt too! I have called up many and got the result I wanted, I have had disputes and dealt with things such as this for friends and if the call is done properly - it has been dealt with correctly - touch wood.
  17. I am not sure that Ruthbridge purchase debts - I know they service many old debts owned by cabot - it may be one of these?
  18. It is so sad that many people come here due to DCA's greed rather than deal with disputes. There is absolutely no need for you to pay more than YOU can afford!
  19. All they are trying to do is make more money out of you quicker. maybe they are having a bad month!! I love Freds / SRJ and all their associates.
  20. Following this thread with interest
  21. Panther, I fully agree with you regarding disputes but this is a clearcut case of mistaken identity.
  22. No...Not HFO...I know some people that work for the CRA's - from when I worked in the bank. OMG...dont associate me with HFO :0
  23. DonkeyB - I bow down to your wisdom. your posts have always been constructive and informative - I have a lot to learn from you. The beauty of this forum is we can disagree without getting into slagging matches - had that experience before. I agree with your sentiments and that is the reason I have not paid. Different strokes for different folkes though. She may want to pay. My other half paid a debt that they did not have to just because it made her feel better about herself. I pay for a taxi on the way home instead of paying next to nothing and taking a night bus - same principle. If she wants to contend then it appears that with you and 'the gang' she will be in very safe hands. My thread will start soon. I know it wont be too late - they are writing to my old address (the letters are passed to me) - although they have my mobile number.
  24. Their incompetance is definately worth a mention...... I know several people that work for them and because the three companies monopolise the indurstry - complaining is not taken too seriously
