  1. I have 3 work phones with vodafone and 1 additional phone for my girlfriend. My bills are paid via direct debit each month so to be honest i do not really check them. Since taking out the contracts in 2006 myself and my girlfriends phone have been on their friends and family tariff meaning we get free calls to each other as long as they do not last longer then 60 minutes. I upgraded our phones again in 2008 to the same tariff and again in March this year. However. When i upgraded the phones in March this year i was told that my phone and my girlfriends phone were not on the friends and family tariff meaning that between 2008-2011 we had been charged for all calls or they had taken up my free minutes. I was told that when the last phone was upgraded a different number was placed on the friends and family. I asked for a recording of the upgrade as i remember asking for the exact same deals, as i have done with all phones. The problem is vodafone only keep recordings for 6 months. They gave me a credit of £75 as a gesture but clearly told me that i couldn't prove their mistake and it was a gesture of good will. I have since ordered my statements and am going through them to find the charges and will forward them my findings but what i want to know is can i charge them for the 'free' minutes as this should not have been accounted for on the calls. Also can i charge for my time in going through the bills. I work as a personal trainer and charge clients £65 for 45 minute sessions and the final question is how do i take it to court if they do not refund me what i am owed. Thanks in advance for your help.
  2. Hi, I am sorry to jump on your thread but i have a similar problem and have been trying to get copies of my statements from Welcome Finance. I have sent off 2 SAR requests and both times they have sent documents back with a letter saying statements will follow after. I rang their head office and have it documented with who i spoke to, what time, date etc (it was 1 month ago) asking for copies of my statements and explaining that i had sent to SAR letters off and i was told they would take 'around 2 weeks'...still no statements. Is there anything else i can do to get these or dispute the account.. Thank you (sorry again for jumping on).
  3. Have you got any updates on your case? I am going through my GMAC fee's and charges now but when reading the forum's i am getting a lot of mixed messages as to whether you can/can't reclaim them back....
  4. Hi, I sent of SAR in Feb this year and got all the details back from Welcome but no statements - they said they would send these separately. Nothing arrived.... So i sent another SAR in May and got the same information again and the letter also said (again) the statements would arrive separately... Still received nothing to this date. What do i need to do next to get these statements? Can i put my account on hold until they send them? I am just over 4k in arrears and the account is defaulted. I offered them a settlement letter of just over 2.200 but didn't get a response. Sorry to jump in on your thread...
  5. Hi Geezey I spoke to my local branch of Welcome yesterday and wanted to speak to them about a settlement ( i owe just under 4100 in arrears which is the total debt). I was wanting to offer them about 50% but got told by the office that they were not accepting settlements anymore....Is this the case or do you think it is worth offering them a figure... Really want to get rid of this debt!! Thank you
  6. Hi 'Crocdoc' I didn't have PPI on the account. I have all the details from the SAR but am still waiting for the bank statements to see the charges. I wanted to speak to them to see what they would expect then make my offer. Most people seem to be suggesting around 50% of the final balance but with what i was told from the head office that they are not accepting offers is it worth it?
  7. Hi I am hoping you will be able to help me or shed some light for me. I have a car loan with welcome finance which is in arrears and the agreement finished last year. Because of this all the balance is classed as arrears I rang my local Welcome Finance today to try and see if they would accept a settlement figure. The current balance on the account is 4'042.83 When i spoke to the guy he told me welcome are no longer accepting settlement offers and the whole balance would have to be paid in full to clear the account. I am currently paying £300 per month but want to get rid of the whole thing in one go as its killing me every month to have to pay them.... I know it is my fault for getting the account in to arrears but i really don't want to be paying this amount for the next 15 months!!! Is it worth writing to their head office offering them a settlement and if so do i offer them the 50% or would there be any better options. Thanks in Advance.
  8. Hi I was hoping someone would be able to help with this...has anyone got any ideas or recommendations who i should see (except CAB)... Thanks
  9. The documents i have are signed 7/7/06 but i need to find out why my first payment date wasn't until 8th November 06
  10. The crash was on the 2nd of January 11 and the car was officially written on 11th Feb 2011.... I have looked at the welcome letter from them and it is dated 31st July 2006 but it says my first payment will be 8th November 2011. Thank you
  11. HI I took a loan out with welcome finance back in November 2006. The load was for 48 months payments of 284.62. I moved house, changed banks and missed about a years worth of payments as i didn't re set up the direct debit. I have sent an SAR request and received it on the 10th March 2011 but with no statements. They said the statements would be sent separately...still waiting. Although i spoke to them in the week and 'Greg' said he would re order them... My problem is i had a crash last year and the car was a Cat C write off. I got paid out by the insurance company and paid that payment to Welcome. I then tried to claim the GAP insurance but it said it would not pay arrears on the account. There are currently about 5k on the account. What i don't understand is that surely GAP should have paid out the payments from January 2010-November 2010 when my original agreement should have ended. Is this right? I know the terms of the GAP says it does not pay arrears but there was still a balance on the account. I am awaiting the statements to try and claim back the charges and am still paying then 300 per month but this is not even touching the amount owed...most is swallowed in interest. I have also noticed on the agreement that they have charged me 42% interest on the loan amount then at the bottom under my final figure on the agreement it says 'Rate of interest per annum (on credit) 20% - so in effect i am getting charged 60% on the debt???? Is that right? I would love some help on this and whether it is worth going to a solicitor to see what can be done...i can't afford to settle and the 300p/m is nearly as much as my mortgage!! Thanks in advance
