  2. Noticed a default recorded for £1109 on my credit file. Phoned them up to try and find out what its from etc etc as I have no recollection of this account and getting nowhere as i dont have an account number or phone number and they cant search for me via postcode as no account showing I had dealing with vodafone in past as some of you will know and im banned from the stores (no fault of my own) so not sure what to do now

  5. The job was with a very popular worldwide car insurance firm. Regulated by the fsa. There is once ccj on my credit report that i didnt even now about till friday as when they rang to withdraw offer i got access to my credit report online. Can i request a subject access report from the potential employer to see exactly what showed up on there credit search. Also they offered job 4 days after second interview (had 1st interview 2 weeks ago) Should they not have done checks before making the offer????
  6. If you are offered employment verbally and via letter and a terms of employment contract, and no where does it say provisional offer or subject to checks, Can an employer then withdraw there offer and say there not taking application any further BECAUSE OF UNSATISFACTORY CREDIT HISTORY???
  7. The agent has been dismissed for several breaches of comapny policy's yet provident are still demanding full payment
  8. Provident are now reinvestigating as new evidence has come to light this weekend. The agent indulged in conversation with me on facebook and has seriously contradicted everything provident have said to defend her. How long would you say is a reasonable amount of time to allow provident to reinvestigate bearing in mind a final response has already been issued??
  9. I must advise that this is our final response to this matter, and If you remain unhappy you have the right to refer this matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service. This must be done within six months from the date of this letter.
  10. Hi guys, Looking for advice on where to go with these loan sharks, not sure if i posted in correct forum but hope admin will move my thread if not correct forum. Right in jan 2010 me and my partner became Customers of these sharks, we got rather friendly with the agent (big mistake) In march 2010 we were issued a further loan and our payment books were retained by agent so she could update with new loans. In October these books had still not been returned after asking several times so i conatcted the regional office and requested they were brought to me as a matter of urgency and told them i would retain payment until i had received the books. They were posted discreetly through my door at 9.30pm on a monday night. Upon investigation i found that the books had serious discrepences. We paid £60 a week every week without fail. yet there were several missing payments on both accounts. (we also had greenwood and they were paid weekly on time and the greenwood book reflected this) So I contacted the area manager the next morning and explained my concers she came to my house that afternoon and admitted she was not happy with the books and statements and the reflection of my provient account on greenwood. The area manager retained my books as part of her investigation and issued a receipt for them which i still have. She reffered the matter to field security who visited me in my propety the following friday, we had a long discussion for 2 hours and he went on hi way to interview the agent. When we were issued with new loans we were told that we had to pay off other loans first somethng called early ressetlment. Over the course of jan 2010- oct 2010, me and my partner must have done about 7 of these forms with amounts ranging from £46 - £167. None of these early payments had been credited to my accounts so she had also pocketed that money. My let down is i did not ask for recipets to prove these transactions. providents defence is its not up to us to issue receipts its up to you to request them. So i had several payments of £60 a week missing and several Early Settlements missing, Cash my provident agent had taken from me but not received by provident. Provident dug very deep into my personal info and discovered the name i had used to obtain the loans was infact my middlename and not my surname. This is perfectally legal as i am known by my middle name by all my creditors and utility suppliers and also i dont use my surname for personal reasons. Anyways provident though they had me for fraud as they found or so they thought that i had given a false name. The name i gave them is my middle name and is on my birth certificate. anyways provident decided that due to me not having receipts to prove payments being made that no theft had occured and in fact i had commited fraud and they involved the police. Upon disussion with the police i was told no criminal offence had been commited on my side and that this was the company trying to defend themselves and that i should pursue a civil case as the circumstancial evidence is in my favour e.g 1) no payment books from march till october 2) books beig posted discreetly at 9.30pm 3) payments made to other creditors on time and in full 4) neither me or my partner have a criminal record. 5) the fact that the agent in fact has previous convictions for theft. (provident do not crb there staff as there self emplyed agents. I have complained to the CCA who regulates provident and there responce was we are happy with the way provident have dealt with your case and we are aware there is a police investigation for fraud. Provident managed to twist there arm with the fraud thing which has since proven untrue. Like i told police if this was fraud i would not have gave my correct date of birth or my national insurance number or would i have paid in full for 9 months. Provident have now told me that as a result of police investigation being completed i have 7 days to pay the full outstanding balance. My biggest issue is it my partner and my word against theres and there a huge company, I am adamant that until they produce me with a statement reflecting my true balance i will not make paymets. From what info i have the agent has stolen anything between £700 and £1000 from us and the balance is £1456. When they consulted with police they stopped the greenwood agent coming to my house and she has not been here since november so i also need to know where i stand with that, i signed a home collected loan aggrement and they withdrew there home collected service as they thought i was fraudulant. Provident have issued me with a final responce which is 4 February 2011 Dear Mr ******* Further to your recent telephone conversation with S***** S****, regarding your account with us. I understand you remain unhappy and are still of the opinion that your agent has stolen money from you. You have indicated that until this matter is resolved you will cease making payments to your account. As Sharon explained to you, this matter has been referred to our field security department who have looked into the allegations once again. I must advise you that the outcome of their investigations have remained the same, they have reiterated that they have found no evidence to suggest that the agent has misappropriated any monies from your accounts. I appreciate that you will remain unhappy with this outcome and would suggest that you take any evidence you may have to the Police for them to investigate. Should they wish to contact us as part of any investigation that they undertake, we will of course be happy to correspond with them. In order to make payments as the full balance needs to be paid within 7 days to avoid further action, please contact our solicitors CK Edrupt & Co on 0800 9166442. Due to the breakdown in the relationship between yourself and the local office, your accounts with Provident and our sister company Greenwood have been transferred to them to help facilitate the repayment of the accounts. I must advise that this is our final response to this matter, and If you remain unhappy you have the right to refer this matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service.   11. Hi guys, this refers to an account opened in 2009. Basically i signed up in store for a laptop and took out both insurances all payments were maintaied and up to date then about a month after havng product i went on a train woth laptop and forgot/lost it on train and departed train without it. I informed Brighthouse immediatly who told me i was " lying ****" and they would contact police for "obtaining good by deception" I conacted the British transport police who reviewed cctv and seen me boarding with laptop but leaving without and they followed the train and seen another male walking off with my laptop a few stops later on journey. British transport police issued me with a crime number which i provided to Brighthouse. I was getting knocks on my door every day and harrasing phonecalls for about 2 months as store said i was still liable and had to pay, so my question was why was I paying insurance?? At point of sale the advisor told me as it was a laptop it was covered away from home same applies to a mobile of bought from them apparently. Its now 2011 and out of the blue this has been brought up again and i am having letters demanding full payment? Can anyone tell me where i stand legally?? In 2009 i tried to complain to customer realtions and was told that it had to be dealt with by store manager and he was nothing but a bully, also there staff used to come into my place of employment to intimidate me and on one occasion a female member of there staff said in front of all the staff in my store "when you coming to see us to pay for your laptop" My Responce was are you licenced to discuss accounts in public and she quickly left?

Yes forgot to say guys, the customer service director linda did not only liase with me by telephone but also visited me at home when the 2 replacement and 2 goodwill products were delivered she ensured all were fitted correctly and in working order although all products were brand new. I do hope for all the other cag members that bayv will continue to monitor this site and be as promt as they have with me to step in and resolve issues. After waiting over 2 months and problems after problems occuring all was sorted within 48hours after bayv commented on this thread.
  13. Quick update guys within 48 hours of linda bayv picking up this thread. I had a new tumble dryer delivered and a new washing machine, Linda was very disappointed that things cant escalated to the stage they were at and admitted the company could have acted a lot better and managment should have intercepted earlier and as a gesture of goodwill i received a black beko microwave to match the tumble, washing machne and fridge freezer and also given a hoover free of charge. I would definatly Reccomend contacting bayv through here like i did.

Update Linda the customer service director at bayv is a great contact if you have been in same situation as me and your issues are falling on deaf ears then i would reccomend emailing linda and discussing the issues. She is well mannered and very sympatetic no bull**** with her she thourough had a detailed telephone call with her today for at least 20 mins and i now feel that my issues have been addressed and being dealt with in an appropriate manner. Bayv Linda is an asset to your company, shame not all your staff were like her.

Thanks i have emailed linda, today i was ment to have a new washing machne delivered and a dryer but guess what i have not as you dont have them in stock its just a complete joke one thing after another and to make things worse the regional manager who was dealing with me has gone on holidays this week and now i am left in a lurch as i dont have any1 to contact apart from the director Mr Webb who is declining my calls. Getting seriously wound up by this company now, Took out a bed with them in march 2010, within 4 months the bed was replaced 3 times as it was breaking due to cheap materials used to construct the bed. So when it broke the 4th time I told them I dont want a bed and had the product replaced for a fridge freezer back in august 2010. That was that or so i thought. (read on as im writing this based on when it happened) In October 2010 I ordered a tumble dryer and washing machine to match the fridge freezer these were delivered to me and delivery was ment to include install and i argued black and blue with delivery men that they had to install items. In the end they did and they snapped the tap on the water pipe that feeds the washing machine didnt tell me about thi i found out 2 weeks ago (see below) When i put the washing machine on its first wash it was loud and dancing round my kitchen i thought this is strange and later discovered after a phonecall to bayv that the delivery drivers had not removed the transport pins lol ( i didnt know about them) Anyways the washining machine was replaced 2 days later. In November the dryer packed in basically wont produce enough heat to dry clothes (still not working 2 months later although i am awaiting a replacement). The beko engineer came out in nov and apparently repaired the dryer! Guess What it still didnt work, up until last week i had raised a further 4 service calls since november with regards to this and noone had been out to fix the issue. Last Monday my agent called to collect payment to which i replied when you fix my dryer i will pay i had not put much money in meter but had the cash stored away to pay him. He assured me he would get someone out so i said once they been i will pay you, he phoned office and they tried to say as account was in arrears they couldnt book a service call so i told him take the goods then, the office quickly changed there minds and chased the beko engineer. On the tuesday morning i woke up to a flooded kitchen the washing machine door rim was knackered and was letting water out of door when cycle was on a wash, so i thought ill turn the pipe off on wall so pulled out the washing machine to discover the switch had snapped last people to touch it were bayv delivery team. So i had to turn all my water off to stop the washer leaking as it was filling up with water and eaking everywhere even when it was switched off. I phoned agent and office from 10am -5.30 am when the regional manager got in contact with me and arranged to come to my house that evening, He arrived and seen the leak on washing machine and offered to call an out of hours plumber to come and fix the switch so i could have water on overnight. Or he said if i left it off overnight he would ensure a replacement washing machine was brought to me asap the next day and they would replace the dryer i had logged 5 calls at this time and not once had they been back out and he had seen the extent of the flood i will put pics up, took me 8 hours to clean up, he knew i wernt happy and with everything else that had happened. i had a loan washing machine the next day! Upon speaking to office i discovered when they replaced the bed they done a staright exchange for the fridge freezer carried on the origninal contarct from the bed! This seems ok on the front as it was an exchange, but the fridge was £250 cheper than the bed so i had a refund of the amount and intrest etc etc. One thing after another i tell you Well today comes and there no sign of my replacemnt washing machine or dryer yes i got my loan washing machine but my beko one i much more advanced than this loan one its very basic to say the least and i still have a dryer rhat dont work. I have been told today that they will be delivered by thursday. Well this afternoon there was a knock on the door from another company who offer same services as buy as you view, i answered and he addressed me by name i was like who are you and he said i understand your a buy as you view customer and you got a few items with them. Yes i said he knew my dob aswell as he commented i dont look my age as im a young looking 20 year old get asked for id everywhere i go. Well he offered to supply me with the same products i got with buy as you view at a cheaper cost and told me if i phone bayv and tell them i want to cancel they will come collect good and refund all monies paid. I knew this was dodgy but let him carry on and told him im not makng any decision now and id get back to him after speaking with bayv as i told him im not going to belive you a random who turned up at my door i want to check this ia factual first. He left promto when he realised he was not going to get me to sign anything. After he left it clicked how the f*** does he know my name, the fact im a bayv customer, What products ive got and how much i pay???? So i phoned my agent who said " there poaching they been folloeing the boys round" bull**** i said he knew all my details Within ten minutes the regional manager was in contact with me and it was discovered the man who knocked my door was in fact an ex bayv employee who know works for HOMEBUY!!!!! What a joke of a company the regional manager has reffered my file to the director due to all the issues and there ex employee as HE HAS STOLEN MY INFORMATION!!!!! So at moment I have a loan washing machine, a dryer that doesnt work, up until a few days ago i was paying £250 to much for a fridge freezer, I have had a flood due to faulty products not even owned 6 months, and i have had my identity incriminated by them. And 5 service calls have been ignored. Not to mention a bed that was made for cardboard that kept breaking!! This is just a joke and I couldnt make it up if i tried. Any advice on this situation would be appreciated guys as i am at my wits end. Whats next????
  18. thanks sillygirl, with that approach i will continue to incur intrest and charges on some loans where as if i can get all lenders to accept the repayment plans then charges and intrest will be frozen and i will not have to pay more than what my debt is now. Sillygirl can you give me any advice on prime payday as there are being really awakward and just want some advice, sorry for going off topic
  19. i have 9 payday loan companies to deal with so I consider £20 a month reasonable based on my income and outgoings. obviously companies i have larger debts with have been offered more. consumer direct pointed me in direction of ico and they have responded to my complaint within 2 hours and have said thry have launched a formal investigation into this also the ico advised that i contact the oft and have this documented which i have done as they issue there licence to trade
  20. This bunch of legalised loan sharks are to be avoided at all costs if you wish to keep your finances discreet. On sat a collections agent phoned me for a loan of £100 TOTAL repayable £130.refused a proposed payment plan of £20 per month. He got quite intimidating we will sent bailiffs, we will trash your credit file etc etc I terminated call by saying please liase with me in writing for evidential purposes. 15 mins later the agent phoned again and without asking who he was speaking to demanded payment, told a third party who they were, what loan i had, when i had it and my arrears situation. Once the agent finished the rant they were told this is not **** and he hung up. then when i found out i phoned up seven times asking to speak to manager an was answered by same agent who phoned me and he kept hanging up on me. I have raised a complaint this am with the ico and the oft so hopefully something will get done about these legalised loan sharks. Anyone else had negative dealings with this lot? or any further advice would be appreciated
  21. Stop right there! Your telling me you took out a loan with toothfairy for £300 and they are now demanding £984. If thats right i would send tem an email something along the lines of With regards to the email i received today from you demanding an arrangment by 10 am tomorrow i have taken some legal advice and i have decided that i will not increase my offer of £10 a month unless you can reduce my balance to a reasonable amount the original loan and 1 months intrest ( nothing more, you may have to keep fighting) if you are not prepared to do this then i would appreciate if you could file a claim through the county courts so that a judge can decide weather or not the £684 worth of charges on my account are legal and justified. Tell them you want to go to court, i cant see toothfairy taking you to court and in the end they will give in as long as you stick to your guns. If toothfairy do agree to drop the amount to £300 and 1 months interest i would try and pay it over 6 months nothing more. so it would be about £60 a month. Also put in you email that you are aware that NorthernDebt Recovery are based in same building as toothfairy finance and they are there inhouse debt collectors! very sketchy i know! Have you requested a breakdown of charges of the fools???? just to pre warn you cash genie and capital finance one are horrible to deal with so beware just stick to your guns and dont let them pressure you. Also Quickquid will not accept any payment plan unless it 3 months or under so your best waititng till they pass the debt to debt collection agency mcenzie hall and they will accept anything reasonable. Make sure you email toothfairy asap asking for break down of charges, stating you only prepared to pay original loan and 1 months intrest if they dont agree then tell them well take me to court as id like to see you justify you hideous charges to a judge
  22. Im going through same issues as you! Any chance you can list all your 10 creditors may help us to advise you on who to deal with first and what there like to deal with. Also with regards to toothfairy do you have any money in your account tonight could you make a token payment to them tomorrow of like £20 - £30 that shows your facing up to the debt and trying to pay it and possibly just to avoid extra costs from bailiffs could you not up your offer by £5-£10 a month. From reading on here toothfairy are hard to deal with but i would try and make a token payment as if it did go to court that would be in your favour. Also be worth reporting toothfairy to the office of fair trading as they have had warning before and the more complaints against them the better. attatch a copy of the email with your complaint, Hope this helps, If you do make a payment to toothfairy tomorrow do it via bank transfer DO NOT give them card details.
  23. When i took them out i had 2 incomes coming in as my partner was woring but due to circumstnces beyond our control and the economic climate he has now lost his job so is currently looking for work, he has had 3 interviews this week so we can only hope.
  24. Just worked it out the total value of loans taken was £1810 And now after intrest and charges i owe £2660.69 plus i going to get hit with more charges on the 27th when i default on the rest of them
