  1. answer call the insurance company and speak to the underwritter and he will make a consetion for you so you pay less if you have a convinsing arguemetn, e.g drive as much, similar time, similar distance etc...
  2. dont know exactly what the sounds are as I cant hear them, I'm assuming the squeeking from the wheels would be brake pads, the banging noise when turning seems like its the CV joint, and the whinning noise when doing a full lock maybe not enough power steering fluid or a belt. If I was you I would go back to the dealer and tell them to have it checked by a mechanic, you should be covered under the Sales of Goods Acts, someone can advise if you are or not.
  3. money grabbing rule. I have read the act am I right in thinking that you will get a fixed penalty for not having insurance or will you also get points etc?
  4. Don't know how they don't have accidents. I now drive with a camera in my car and no longer slow down for idiots who change lanes making me hit the curb and saying i speeded up etc. I have ladies thinking they own the road. Been hit from the side by over 6 ladies and only 2 man, but 2 men hit my car when I wasn't in them. 1 said she hurd me hit the horn but she had priority, dont see how when im in my lane on a dual carriageway 2 came accross 4 lanes and said it was not her car and it was a new car 3 lady was in left lane on a big island, and instead of going off next exit delibratly hit my car, when asked she said she can do it in the highway code and in the left lane you can go all the way round the island. 4 lady moved out of a parked space and said I should have let her go as she had priority 5 I was driving and a lady hit the wing mirror, said it was her fella's car. loads more, dont know how they say they are good drivers. The new thing that has been alleged by insurance is that men are targeting vunrable women and old peole even when they havent done anything wrong. I got CCTV to prove otherwise. Regards TK
  5. check your water level, oil and take it to a competant machanic, it could be anything.
  6. Hi please send us pictures of the hub, and also a picture on the underside of the hub. check if the wishbone fits into the hib in the currant position. regards TK
  7. it seems likly that the Police wont do anything even if the person doesnt have a witness. the reason is that the criminal courts need to be certain, adn also you need to know someone in the force. It will be down to the insurance to fight it,
  8. Would you like to know the truth? can you handle the truth? If you can prove that the speed camera's are not accurate then you will therefore have proven that all previous tickets and future tickets are infact invalid. If you do prove that then nobody in the future can get a speeding ticket and the industry will not be happy. How are they suppose to get the speeding drivers with speed camera's that are not correct? You cannot win unless you have a diffrent escuse in my opinion, because the technology is "correct" and working and you cannot prove its not. While you are waiting for the court date you can in the meantime request "by method of disclosure the calibration data and last calibration check date before and after the alleged speeding offence", this may give you something to argue, and also its free as they have to disclose doc's to you. Regards TK
  9. Hi, There is a 3 month time period when the MOT tester can be questioned about his work. As the car has been repaired now, if you have a second invoice for the repairs done, you will have a case and not much can be done. What you can do. You can go back to the garage and tell the MOT tester (not the receptionist) that he missed something and that you will tell VOSA for overcharging (making you pay twice for brake pads) unless you are refunded, and that you will also let VOSA know that he missed the brakes which became faulty in 2 weeks. and the proof that you have is the invoice for a service and brake change. He should pay you because he will get some points for not noticing a fault. Too many points and they cant work There has been a senario of a MOT tester who was willing to pay the buyer of the car £500 as he was going to loose his job because VOSA got involved. Personally I would have accepted the £500 and told the MOT tester to fix the car.
  10. I think its more a Invation of Privacy issue. they recorded and collated data without your permission. They can keep it in your car if they don't intend on using it against you and only to recover your car. Normally insurance companies will have the tracker listed in the Terms and conditions.
  11. You need to upload the terms and conditions at least, if you dont have them request them from the third party, a copy of the contract you signed by way of disclosure.
  12. Try this, you can tell them that you want storage insurance on the car, it means that your car will be parked in a secure gargage and you jsut want it insured in the unlikly event of fire or thef, you will have to pay the admin fee but should save you some bob. I dont know if you dont want to pay the £30 cancellation fee, if this is the case it seems you will loose your bonus and if you dont give them there money they will refuse to release any bonuses they have, they cannot do anything illegal as they can then be prosecuted for it. or if you dont want to cancel the policy and loose 1 years bonus. Usually insurance companies are not that bothered if you dont pay them if you havent made a claim. In the past I stopped direct debits and got a letter, i called them and said I cant afford it, they then sent a payment reminder then cancelled my insurance. I am not legally qualified so dont take my advise at face value, my response is something I would do and legal advise should be obtained before doing anything I say
  13. Im just wondering if anyone stopped him or was he never stopped and drove home. If he wasnt stopped it has to proved who was driving.
  14. there are rules for using it tho, supposed to have linked brakes to your car, but we know that when you stop that will stop. and the lights need to be working on the back with your number plate. I dont know if its law but when I was using the trailer police stopped me and said that it needs break lights so people know your stopping and a reg will be helpfull.

    DVLA

Hi Iv got a senario, I sent some docs to DVLA along with copy bank statements. They sent my docs to someone else and when I called to say I havent received the copy bank statements back I was told that they are shreaded. I then got a call from a random person who said he received the forms with the bank statements and if I want them back, I advised him to shred them.. I then called DVLA to be told that they have improved services and that was a 1 off. and after filling the forms correctly the second time they sent me back the docs less the copy bank statements and someone elses docs with a £6 postal order. My friend then later did a request and his bank statements were sent back to him.
