  1. Thanks DX we can only find the original registration confirmation email. But it has just occurred to me that for TFL to have set up automatic payment on the 12th, they must have our business account debit card details already. So they set it up the day after we went to London? Surely there must be some sort of disclosure procedures so that we can see and prove when the automatic payment details were submitted. That would have been six months before they processed it. Spooky how that happened to be the day after we went there eh?
  2. Hi all, I have a problem with a ULEZ charge fine from TFL. Back in October we registered our work vehicle for the ULEZ charge as our vehicle isn’t compliant. Not a problem I thought. When we got confirmation that the vehicle had been registered with TFL we applied for auto payment so that we could just travel in and out of the zone without having to keep making individual payments. So far so good. But here’s where we went wrong, we assumed that this was all set up now. on the 11th of April we had to go to Fulham for work and thought that the money would be debited from my business account automatically. The website said this would be on the 28th of each month. Today, the 23rd we got a fine for non payment with 14 days to pay from the 19th! We went on the website to try to find out what was happening to find that TFL only set up the auto payment facility for our vehicle on the 12th of April. One day after we travelled up to London. I think that this is very unfair. The problem is the my wife didn’t keep any of the emails that she received after setting it all up. I know, I know, foolhardy at best. But I think that TFL are not treating us fairly and I’m not sure how to deal with this really. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  3. Excellent thank you. Do you think I should report him to the Police now?
  4. Well. The good news is that Barclays are confident that they can recover the money. Free Ads have been fantastic and actually sent someone over the the Isle of Wight to go to the address given. They are speaking to Action Fraud as well to give them information on adverts that they have found on other sites for the same item (amounts others). The only issue I have now is, do I make an allegation of theft directly to the police? I guess that this would be "obtaining money by deception".
  5. I don't think that this is them. The name of the person i dealt with was Phillip R Torrance. They were in Sandown on the Isle of Wight as well. Didn't know I could do that
  6. Hi Everyone, its been a while since I posted on here (maybe that's a good thing). Last week I purchased an outboard motor online from a company called Solent Boat Sales on the Isle of Wight. They had a good website and seemed very efficient at the time. They made an appointment to come and deliver the motor, which was arranged via the same email address that the invoice came from (info@solent-boat-sales.co.uk). The appointment time came and went with no one showing up, and no contact from them. I tried to call them, but the message just said "Solent boat sales is currently unavailable". I tried to call the mobile number that I had spoken to the vendor on, and it said that the phone was switched off. This has been the case for the last three days now, and my emails are going unanswered. I am worried that I have been the victim of an elaborate fraud after paying by bank transfer. Can anyone offer me some advice as to what my next move should be please?
  7. Thanks for the reply. I seem to remember that there was a requirement to have PPI on the load. Do you think its worth looking into?
  8. A quick update: After sending the Conc 7 letter, which was signed for and received by Robinson Way, I have now received a letter from Hoist Finance saying: We refer to your recent communication in which you made a complaint regarding the above account. Please be advised that our investigations are still ongoing and we will be in a position to issue a response to you once our enquiries are complete, no more than four weeks time from now. Should I be expecting them to try some sneaky trick or can I ignore this. I don't remember ever making a 'complaint' so I'm a little concerned about this.
  9. Does this mean that I should relax a bit, or expect more incoming?
  10. Good news (I think). Although I sent the CONC 7 letter on Saturday (which was signed for by "Alexander" yesterday morning (Monday), I received a letter from Robinson Way yesterday saying: "We acknowledge your recent communication and write to inform you that the account to which you're referring is now closed on our files." However, it also says: "We will pass any relevant documentation/information that you have sent on to our client to deal with accordingly. For your future reference, our client can be contacted at the following address: HFUKH1L (Ex Welcome Finance Limited) Quays Reach Carolina Way Salford M50 2ZY" This makes me suspicious even though it is their own address. I am worried that they are going to try something else.
  11. No it wasn't DX, but I have just sent one that will be delivered to Robinson Way on Monday and it is 'signed for' so I can track it as well.
  12. Oh, okay. I'll send a second letter to Robinson Way today "signed for", and see what happens. What should I do if Resolvecall do contact me please?
  13. Thank you for your advice anyway Bank Fodder. Very helpful. I will send the letters out today.
  14. Thank you. Is this the correct address for resolvecall? The letter is not vary clear as I guess they want me to phone them. Resolvecall 2nd Floor Spectrum House 55 Blythswood Street Glasgow G2 7AT
  15. Hi All, Its been a while since I have had to post on here, but you have all been so helpful in the past and an old debt from 2006 has reared its ugly head again. The original debt was a £3000 unsecured loan that I took out with Welcome Finance in 2003. In 2006, the debt was re-written to lower my payments due to difficulties our family were having because of illness. I have checked the last statement that I have for this debt, and the last payment, or acknowledgement of the debt was on 29th May 2008. Since then, out of desperation I have asked for a copy of the CCA, which never materialised and it has been through several debt collectors. I have just checked my credit file and although I can see everything that I have now, there is no mention of this debt at all. My problem is that we moved house back in May, and all of a sudden, Robinson Way started to write to me saying that their 'reconnection team' wanted me to get in touch. I sent them a statute barred letter and heard nothing for a while. Now Resovecall have written to me giving me seven days to call them or a doorstep collector will call to help me to reconnect with Robinson Way. I am thinking that I should send Robinson Way a second statute barred letter as well as a doorstep visit letter to Resovecall. Any help here would be much appreciated. Thank you.
  16. You think I should email him and complain?
  17. Hi DX, thank you for your very swift reply. They owe us a refund of £90 which I don't think we'll get back.
  18. Four weeks ago, we secured a new home in an area where Virgin Media don't offer any services. This is a shame because we have enjoyed their service for the past 11 years. We let them know straight away that we would no longer require their services and they told us that they would send us three bags with cable plugs so that we could cap the cables and return the two set top boxes and router that we have. This took two weeks and when the bags turned up there was one bag big enough for the router and one cap. We let them know instantly and they said that this was a common problem and they would send the correct bags. Today they still hadn't turned up and we're moving on Friday (today is Tuesday). Their attitude is that we will just have to order the bags again so we can cap the cables and return the boxes. We have explained that we won't be here, but have been told that if we don't do this properly they will charge us £350 for the equipment. My question is that if we have given them four weeks notice, and they haven't provided the facilities to terminate our contract properly, can they charge us? I have to say that even when we used social media to contact them, they seemed to ignore the fact that we have to leave the property on a certain date and just kept giving us a link to order the bags an caps.
