  1. In response to your message, I've also received a short letter to say my comments have been noted but the banks final repsonse has been issued. They are not enetering into any furthur correspondance regarding the points I have raised..... This was after my LBA was sent to them. Does this mean the end of the line ? Or do I have any options as to my next step ? Any help would be great. Thanks Katie
  2. Hi, It looks like my next step is to send the LBA template which I will send tomorrow. The see what happens after that ! Katie ps I'm reclaiming £3046 in bank charges since 1999
  3. Many thanks for that. I'll take a look right now. Katie
  4. Hi, I am in hope that someone can advise my next step. Basically, I sent the DPA request and received my statements within the 40 day limit dating back 6 years. I then sent the letter to Lloyds asking for it back including the spreadsheet of charges. I received the standard letter saying 'i'm sorry you're not happy.....'. I was then waiting for the 14 days to exceed, when today I have received a personal letter as below :- " Thanks for getting in touch with us...... Like any business, we do make a charge for some of our extra services..... You've mentioned the new guidelines from the OFT on credit card charges. We don't agree with the OFT's thinking on this and we're still talking it through with them. But the important point is that the guidelines only concern 'default' charges. The fees we charge for going over an overdraft limit and for returned payments are not any kind of default penalty. They are fixed standard prices for the service we provide in these situations. So according to our Legal Experts, the OFTS's guidelines on credit card default charges do not in any way apply. I do hope you can see that we make our charging system as fair as possible and I cannot agree to cancel your charges..... " Now firstly, I didnt mention anything about any credit cards ( I am requesting charges back for o/d charges and returned dd etc. Secondly, what reply do I send back to this ? Any help would be much appreciated. Katie Ps Love this site.
  5. Thanks for your comments. I did get turned down for credit a few times (once for a storecard which was very embarrassing) although I'm not sure how I would prove that. Amyway, I think I should write to them again and see what happens. Many thanks
  6. I wondered if theres any compensation I could receive due to the following :- My mortgage lender (Abbey) thoughtfully put a default on my equifax credit report by mistake !! Therefore, everytime I have applied for credit (4 times) I have been refused. I thought this was due to me moving home and not having an established credit rating. Anyway, I wrote to Abbey who sent me a letter to say they have amended the Credit Reoprt and apologise but I wondered if there was anything I could squeeze out of them for the embarrassment ? Or should I just be grateful, my credit report has been amended? Thanks
  7. Great information, thanks ! I'm going to fax them today and see what happens..... Will keep you posted Thanks again
  8. Hi, Thanks for that. I do remember now that they were part of Bank of Scotland. I've been trying to find out how I can contact them, I've found Capital Bank Motor plc and Capital Bank Marine ??! Does anyone know of a central Capital Bank Head Office address I can write to ? Many thanks for your help.
  9. Hi Everyone I am looking into claiming against Capitol Bank who don't seem to be around anymore. Does anyone know if they changed hands,so to speak ? I had an account/overdraft/loan/credit card with them a number of years ago which resulted in me getting way into debt. I believe the solicitors they used were Geoffrey Parker Bourne. Any info would be great. Thanks.
  10. Many thanks for that. The only other thing is, I closed that account (or they did) some years ago so I have no revord of the account number. Would this be a problem ?
  11. Hi, I would like to know if there a claim to be made on incidents that occured 10 years ago ? I was about 18/19 at the time and suffered defaults and 3 ccjs through YB and Jeremy Sutcliffe god knows what they amounted to. Where would I get this information and could I make a claim against them ? Many thanks for any info.
