  1. yes,it seems they are beginning to break under the weight.we kept complaining in writing and even used recorded delivery.our account was 21.9 now its zero percent as santander say "based on your complaint"they now state company policy is reducing account to original rate from start of account and refunding increases of interest so keep at em
  2. For the last 3 months my interest rate has been reduced to zero per cent. They stated when I phoned them that they hasd looked at my payments and decided to reduce it from the high rate o zero. I have now cotacted them in writing twice to ask them a.Are they accepting responsibility and accepting that what they were doing was wrong b.From what date does the 0% come into effect Tehy have not answered yet, needless to say....will keep you updated.
  3. On this months statement from santander re flexiloan i have been charged 0% interest instead of the 20% anyone else got something similar? i e mailed them to advise me why but no response as yet thnx
  4. sorry but they have been less than communicative with me. they did state that it would not raise the apr any more, big deal. I am awar that a person was successful by using a national newspaper financial guru jessica gorst williams however have been unable to get any info on the ins and outs of it.
  5. Im still no further on with Cahoot. i SOMETIMES WONDER IF IT WOULD BE BETTER TO STOP PAYING MY MONTHLY PAYMENT TO THEM UNTIL I RECIEVE A SOMETHING POSITIVE BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT RESPOND TO MY REQUEST TO REDUCE THE APR ,ITS AS IF I AM NOT ASKING THEM THE QUESTIONS
  6. Hi,My flexiloan started in 2002 with a 7% interest rate. Having never defaulted, having been a good customer my rates increased at various times to the current 20% I wrote during these periods of increases and when they decided to reply it was to say that it was in line with similar flexible loans and that I was not at fault. Anyway I recived a breakdown of all payments and interest charged however they will not reduce the APR and I contacted the Fsa as they are a credit provider. The fsa said the cab may be of assistance as they cannot comment or intervene in individual cases but that they will keep it on file if there are more complaints about this issue and the excessive apr charges. So I dont know where to go from here as CAHOOTseem to be able to change the apr to there benefit at will. Thanks
  7. Hi,I have been following your thread.I have exhausted all avenues with Santander. They have sent me statements etc but accepted no responsibilty and I am still paying over 20% interest on this flexiloan. Is there anything further I can do,as I am aware that the ombudsman may not be a useful tool. Many thanks
  8. I have been turned down flat with Santander accepting no responibility whatsoever. There has indeed been a success via a reporter with a national newspaper. I pose the question if everybody has the same interest rate applied across the board then there may be grounds for discrimination.(i.e. if a person has the same blanket rate and is succesful in reducing etc why is that not applied across the board). F.S.A.IS MY NEXT STEP
  9. yes,I do believe people power should be an option here as the big banks are once again trying to shaft the consumer. If enough "on Hold"letters are forwarded to the ombudsman for investigation then perhaps there may be positive results. I wonder what there reaction would be if I decided to put my repayments on hold awaiting the outcome of their issue with Fos?
  10. Sorry another question.I am continuing to pay my repayments per month however the amount of the debt is not reducing by much as the interest charge is so high.Do I still continue to pay the minimum amount each month.
  11. As I am pursuing this issue with Cahoot can someone advise what CCA is an abbreviation for? I am really miffed with them as they are slow in responding to any correspondence.
  12. I suggest: Customer Service Team Cahoot FlexiLoan Santander + address Good luck
  13. Hi I have contacted Cahoot re the excessive apr etc and have asked them for all transactions, interest applied and a request to reuduce the apr to the initialrate. awaiting response
  14. Many thanks. I have asked them to look at my issue. They have sent me an acknowledgement after waiting 3 weeks to state that they are looking at it.
  15. Hi, I`m on the start of a journey to try and get a refund of interest etc on my Cahoot Flexible Loan. I have read on this site that many people, not just myself have been hit with massive hikes in APR. The flexible loan is no longer available,is not viewable online and Cahoot has now been taken over by Santander and they have advised me that the Flexible Loan is a Variable Rate Loan, which indicates that they can hike rates whenever they want to. My Flexible Loan started at 9%. I have never missed payments to the account,I have been a propercustomer and I feel I have been treated very unfairly as my APR is now 22.9% Can anyone advise me where I can start? Many thanks:confused:
