  1. HELP! Just read a reply b y oneofakind regarding sticking to the timetable. I have sent LBA to Barclays and got a reply only yesterday. They say they need to "collate" more information. Assuring me that they want to resolve complaint, and that if I feel the urge I can call them on 0845........ Does sticking strictly to the 14days matter so much. I'm filling in my N1 today in the hope of sending it today. How would 15 days give them a chance to wriggle out?
  2. Sent the LBA on 24th April 2007. Ammended the first line to say 'I am very disappointed that you have failed to respond to my letter of 4th april 07 by refunding the charges.' Put it in because they did actually respond to my prelim letter, but usual sorry can't help you line, cos we ain't done nothing wrong.
  3. Hi again. I have sent off the LBA, combining both my accounts in the one letter. Made a mistake with the date of my original letter but I'm correcting it with another LBA tomorrow.? My reply came from a Leicester address, when I sent it to Churchill Place London. Why is claiming contractual int.such a grey area? The charges on my 1 barclays account wipes both of my o/d's out completely!
  4. Thanks Kimmy01 It's easy to get confused. Still, it sounds a sthough she had a tough time. Luckily, I didn't have to deal with DPA issues as I had all of my statements.
  5. Thanks for that Rooster UK. I feel totally overwhelmed by everything, but reassured that I will find lots of like-minded souls for support and advice (without predjudice!) Will keep this thread informed of my progress, as and when/if it happens.
  6. Trying to post this message as a new thread. Sent out my prelim letter on 05/4/07. No reply as yet, but then again tomorrow is Sataurday! Just read about Hells Bells, and I'm totally gutted for her.
  7. Evening everyone. I've been reading alot of threads and have decided to go for it. I sent by prelim letter on 05/4/07 by recorded delivery. Not heard anything yet. I am rather nervous as I have read that this organisation can get nasty and I'm always expecting the worst. Are they still answering letters?
  8. Thanks lively lad for that. Just thought there was something I was misisng in that letter. I closed my account with them in 2003 but kept ALL of my statements. What stage are you at?
  9. Evening all. I've just got my first response from A&L and I'm wondering if anyone else has received a letter with a similar flavour: 'The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has commented that they consider the level of late payment fees to be unfair, however, they were actually referring to late payment fees for credit card payments, which are quite distinct from a bank's fees on current accounts.' I shall now send off my LBA and see what kind of response I get. Will keep you all updated and will be seeking advice in the future. Is it normal forA&L to go to court stage for £242.50? Either way, I'm still prepared to take this all the way. TTFN (ta ta for now) PS. Have I managed to start a new thread? If not, sorry moderators, will try and conquor this technology stuff
  10. Dear all, I have been perusing the websitefor a while now and all the information is invaluable. Thanks for that. Just starting out my claim against Barclays. I have taken the simple spreadsheet, and listed all the charges. Sending preliminary letter 2morrow. I have all my statements. Also who is best contact to send initial letter to. Is it to the Branch Manager at my local branch, or some other address? Does it matter? Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
  11. Absolutely incredible! Would not have believed it had I not seen it! Just have to claim now!
  12. Hello all, I'm just finding my way around this thing as I'm new to technology etc... Like everyone, I'm hoping to get some if not all of the bank charges returned. To those in the process.. good luck.
