  1. Hi Anyone can give me the true details as to how much someone can borrow on the budgeting loan? On the DWP it states up to £700 yet I am sure I read £2000! Also can you only claim if in receipt of JSA. I have two job interviews coming up and want to borrow to cover for the Housing Benefit as the Council will take months to sort my new claim if I get job and don't want to be in arrears. Also if I am working and paid back the loan ASAP and to borrow a small amount to start a business could I do this or will I not be able as deemed working.? Both jobs are part time. I will take only one job!
  2. Hi Blag What is your new Jsa agreement? Have you been mandated to spend 35 hours a week job searching/preparing for work? I didn't think the new 35 hours had come into effect yet?

  4. Next election is at the latest 2015 so the UC won't be fully rolled out by then. Any bets on Labour continuing with the UC or just tinkering with it?
  5. Howe will the commitment work if one works in a PAYE job 16 hours and has a self employed business as well which could take up the rest of the hours up to 36 per week?
  6. The UJm does not record all your application! I applied for a job in Preston and double checked the app history noticing my application hadn't recorded. So had to note down on UJM the error and on my paper jobsearch.
  7. well - that was that! I went to my exit review, along with 20 to 25 other people ,my provider had failed to find work for during the 2 years on the scheme. there where 3 members of staff trying to get us to sign up to yet another scheme, 'to identify our current opportunities, weaknesses and problems, in order to come up with a programme to combat them'. I asked them if that was what the Workfare scheme should have done in the past 2 years, to which they ummed and arred. Hijacking the meeting, I said I was not interested, and if the sales pitch was it, could I leave, as I was under the impression it was an exit review. one of the staff checked with the office, and said that all we had to do for the exit review was put our names, date of birth, phone numbers and email addresses on an individual piece of paper, and we could leave.... I and around 15 others who had brought our own pens did, and left after claiming out travel expenses. So! my exit review was not a review, it was a sales pitch for them to get you to sign up to yet another 12 month 'free' course, funded by the councils, which duplicated what they should have done on the work programme... apart from providing them with job seeker activities. the sales people, and those in the office had no idea what is after the work programme. a couple of other participants said it was a 1 to 1 under a DWP advisor, instead of the 20 second normal signing activity, every 2 weeks, but I wait with baited breath.. anything cannot be as bad as the work programme, as even if I start it again, I know more now than I did in the beginning, so can stand up for my rights... Hi Cubert, The chap I used to see for the signing at the JCP changed he was great, the new chap I've had for the last three signings grills me and goes through my jobsearch will a fine toothed comb. My signing I wish was less than a minute-it's now 10 mins minimum! Due to finish WP 4th July.
  8. No mention of exit interviews yet. I have to take my business plan and set up costs tomorrow to my advisor meeting-only weird thing is on the IngeusWorks (or not!) site my advisor has changed. I've emailed him the new advisor twice today and onFriday but no reply.
  9. Bakatcha Will you keep us posted on what the JCP with be demanding of you when you go back. I finish on July 4th at Ingeus and going off what has been written on the web I am worried about the demands. I do everything I can to find a job. My areas of experience have died a death, retail, estate agency and merchandising. I have some admin experience but when up against experienced ex civil service applicants my CV just can't compete!
  10. Anyone experienced this. I just logged on to the Ingeus works jobsite to find my advisor name had changed! I've not been informed of my change of advisor and my lady advisor emailed to change my appointment on Wednesday from tomorrow to Tuesday due wanting to take some leave (long weekend). I've emailed the new advisor on the Ingeus website and as yet no response. Now left wondering will my appointment be on Tuesday. I'm due to finish on the 4th July with Ingeus.
  11. I was planning to vote Labour next General Election, maybe not now. I was a life long Liberal voter and still shake my head in disbelief as to how they sold their soul when they got into bed with Satan.
  12. I wonder if any of the returnees to the job centre have any reports to give? I'm due to finish on 4th July so would be interested to hear what the JCP are subjecting the WP returnees to. Much written in the papers.
  13. Hi San_d I used to work in Specsavers for four years in the 90's , I'm sure the guidlines haven't changed a great deal. From memory I recall existing patients trying to book appointments only to find we couldn't book them in before the 24 months. With broken frames we could replace on a NHS for for children only. Things could have changed since . The two year period starts with the eyetest, however if an NHS frame form isn't redeemed it may complicate matters. The Frame voucher/form is valid for the two year period.
  14. Thanks Flumps, tried to open your email on this site and it's logging me out.. Grrrr
  15. It's going to be like New York Grand Central Station. There isn't enough staff to cope!
  16. To be honest I'm not that bothered, I do my searches I can be checked that I applied. If they offer help I'll take it. Never had any issue with the advisors, they've all been decent to me.
  17. Somewhere you wrote some were not WP attendees? So just wondered how they escaped the WP.
  18. How was yoou notified? I am not signing on till a week thursday which will be five weeks before my finish date with Ingeus. How on earth have the ones who were non WP attendees escaped the two sentence?
  19. I don't understand why would Pertemps be including non WP claiments at Pertemps offices?
  20. Anyone due to finish with Ingeus next month?
  21. I think each provider has cart blanche to deliver the programme which ever way they see fit obviously within the perametres of the guidlines. I have emailed Flumps to check if he'she have heard anything. There's a few on the Ingeus thread who are due to finish next month and not read anything like what you have had to endure.
  22. I'm with Ingeus and not had any meetings. I have a new advisor who I wish I had been given, she is a no nonsense woman and is helping me with a new business venture.
  23. Jay are you with Ingeus? Or another WP provider? I wonder if Flumps could help on further information?
  24. PS I finsih in 5/6 weeks so you will find out from one of us the first intake ! Won't have to wait long!
