  1. Heheh, I'll try that... Many thanks for your help
  2. Thank you, results of the searches are nothing registered.... shame it's cost me money to show what we already knew mind....
  3. No, lived here for twenty years, no reference numbers at all on the paperwork...
  4. My partner has today received a letter from Wilkin Chapman notifying of a 'Notice Of Change of Solicitor' regarding an unpaid judgement/order obtaied on 5th July 2012, for £1365.16 and wanting to agree payment terms for this debt... . They have given us 7 days notice of applying for an Attachment Of Earnings with the court and a whole raft of forms to fill in and return to them regarding her personal financial inforrmation We have no idea of what this 'debt' is, who it is from or anything about a court order back in July 2012, there is no mention of which court this order was issued from either.... Help!
  5. Thanks everyone, just sharpening my knives to do battle....
  6. Thanks for the quick reply, I'll not ring them. No idea what debt they're supposedly chasing me for, just got a reference number that means nothing at all.... Ah well, thought life had been too peaceful just lately...
  7. Got to work this evening to find a message from one of the girls in the office to say Capquest have been ringing my employer to tell them to get me to ring them - are they allowed to do this, my employer isn't impressed with me because they are ringing him? I don't know what this is about other than they left him with a 'case number' and a telephone number telling me to ring them.. . Need to know what line to take with them when I call them Many thanks.
  8. I've been working for my present company for about 14 months and am weekly paid. except for the last 2 weeks none of us have received any wages, according to our employer he has cash flow difficulties. We were told we were to be paid yesterday, but our wages never appeared. Like everyone, I have bills to pay, rent and council tax to pay and food to buy, none of which i can currently do.... Meanwhile, I have to keep working not knowing when or even if I'm going to get paid. Needless to say, I cannot carry on very long like this, after the end of this week I'll not even be able to afford the fuel to dive to work. How do I stand on just walking out on the company and signing on, is this likely to be regarded as deliberately leaving the job, or what other options do I have? The company concerned is a very small limited company which apparently has always had a reputation of living beyond it's means.... Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.
  9. Update - the bailiff who said he'd be back at 5pm tonight never showed so it looks like the vulnerable letter has worked.... now to sort out paying the council and not the bailiff, but that can wait until tomorrow... Many thanks for your help.
  10. I picked up a template regarding vulnerable person elsewhere on the forums and that has duly been sent by recorded delivery. bailiffs have just been on and are ignoring the comments about a vulnerable person and giving us until Friday to raise the money when they will return.... Told us to get a loan to cover the amount outstanding or borrow it off our family or neighbours.... Bruddy cheek!
  11. I can see you but sadly I'm not qualified to answer any questions about anything - I'm sure someone will get back to you as soon as they can - the people on here are pretty good, but very busy!
  12. Thanks - I'm working on the vulnerable person approach at the moment; I'm out of work at the moment and my wife is the full time carer of her disabled mother who lives with us and who is quite naturally upset with things.
  13. Been in contact with the bailiff - he was suprisingly polite and agreed if the car wasn't ours he'd not be taking up, but that he'd do a DVLA check on it to confirm ownership....
  14. Not been able to get hold of the bailiff yet - the two phone numbers they left rang without answering when we tried this afternoon, but I'm sending the letter off tomorrow to both the bailiff and the council so I will include the details about that too. Many thanks, will keep you informed of the outcome.
  15. Hi, had a visit from bailiffs today whilst we were out after an outstanding council tax bill which after charges is now just over £300. Sending off the letter in the morning to the bailiffs as described elsewhere in the forum offering them a monthly payment. Problem is, there was a vehicle parked outside our house when they called and they have popped a notice of seizure through our letterbox saying they will be seizing that vehicle in two days time to be sold off to cover our debt. This vehicle isn't our and the owner of the car is to put it mildly furious about it. As a community carer the car is her lifeline and she cannot afford any problems with bailiffs trying to collect it. The car is normally parked in our village and she fears the bailiffs might tour round the village looking for it... Your thoughts please...
  16. Thank you. Information passed back to her. Much appreciated.
  17. This is a cry for help from my sister in law.... Her car was insured with Sheilas Wheels and suffered a damaged front end when someone reversed into her (small hole in the bumper). She claimed off her insurance who took her car away for repair. 4 days later they told her it was too costly to repair her car so they were scrapping it and sending her a cheque for £600. She had some very heated discussions with SW who eventually agreed not to scrap her car, cancel the claim and she would get her car repaired privately. Which she did for approx £250... In this last week, SW have been bombarding her with texts saying she has to give them the car, that they have issued her with a cheque for £600 and to send the keys back to them in an envelope they are sending her, and as far as they are concerned the car is now scrap. She is now happily insured with another company and has spent virtually every day in the past week trying to argue her case with Sheilas Wheels, but no-one is prepared to change their stance at the insurance company. Your views and advice on this would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
