Required new lenses for my specticles, my optican sent them to their suplier to fit new lenses £220, yes very expensive. I have been informed that their supplier has broken the bridge support and cannot get a replacement, I have been asked to go and select a new pair of frames, but, only being given a goodwill gesture from my optican of £50.00. My optican reminded me that, all frames are sent at owners risk, surely their supplier has a duty of care and would they have some form of insurance against accidental damage. How should I proceed. Hi, we received an invoive from the above for a licence, the period of the licence runs from August 2009 to July 31 st 2010. They also retrospectively charged us the period 2008-2009 because we had been in business more than 12 months. Are PPL allowed to invoice you for the period 2008-9 despite the fact that they never issued and invoice for that period and we genuinly were not aware of the need for this Licence, we already have the PRS licence, and like many more thousands of small shops this PPl came out of the blue. Comments please.

My daughter bought a dress from French Connection, when she took this to be cleaned, they declined as the symbol was an( F in a circle.) The owner said that this chemical had been banned. The description of the chemical says" articles cleanable in Hydrocarbons (white sprit) and solvent113,using normal dry cleaning techniques. Would my daughter have the right to have a refund for this dress?. Kind Regards

You should contact acas, they will be able to help you, my gut instinct is that the sacking was unfair and as this was an unreklated incident to the previous one, I think you have a case.

Re PRS. Licence, I don't know if any of you have been approached by another company PPL asking for money for playing music. We have never been approached by these people directly so I assume that PRS have passed on our details. We currently have a licence for playing local radio, we are a very small beauty salon and only have one work station, but we just received an invoice from PPL for £130.00 to cover 2 years fee. I have duly sent the invoice back after speaking to Trading standards. We only play local radio and we assumed that the PRS would cover this, comments appreciated !!!!!!!!!.
