  1. Ok update and advice time, the escalation was i answered a call the person on the other end wouldn't provide me with any info and i refused to give then any as i do not know who they are! they agreed it was a stalemate and i said well i suggest instead of going round in circles you send me information in the post as to why your contacting me and asking for personal information. 2 days later i got a letter asking me to call! i thought as they had given me no information and it was a litle quick i'd wait for them to send more info. i've just got in from work and there is a letter dated 4th of jan (today is the 12th!) dear ..... welcome to Cabot the cabot financial group has recently bought the account you held with egg and we're now responsible for answering your quiries and reciving payments. According to our records you currently owe ...... Please contact us soon as possible to discuss the options for repaying your account. choice of payments....... contact us......load of numbers they have given account details i.e. acc no and amount oweing and i've not confirmed who i am! i've not heard from Egg to tell me this has been transferred to cabot. in fact i've not heard from egg since 2006 when i had a little disagreement with the individual who called my mobile. Somehow, despite not having a card on the account for 2 years, the balance went over the credit limit while all minimum payments had been made for the 2 years without a card on the account! i stated I'd not pay till they came back to me and they never did) i now understand that they signed me up for PPI without my knowledge and this was taken off the card monthly after minimum payment was made hence the balance growing without my knowledge. I dont feel this way of working things out is right or fair as it is an increasing debt trap, also i do not recall agreeing to the PPI and feel sure due to the lack of communication on behalf of Egg that something is not quite right. what is my best course of action here? i.e. ignore, wait, send letter / e-mail, ask for copy of the original CCA???? I have no idea what to do so please help and be as informative as possible. Many thanks Maxruda
  2. update cabot are religiously phoning 1-3 times a day from a variety of numbers, still not been able to pick up. new movement from another that could be connected, I received a text from iQor regarding a 'personal business matter' Does this mean after just one month cabot have given up and sold it on? anyone got any useful tips or advice regarding cabot and iQor together?
  3. oh and the original 2 part same envelope letter from 'egg' and 'cabot' was returned in the post 'not at this address' as i've not lived there for 8 or so years.
  4. quick update, cabot have now stopped leaving messages and are now calling once or twice daily from two numbers. can someone tell me if it is advisable to answer these calls or call them back?
  5. they have left a message. "Mr. Wilson would like a call back about a personal financial matter" I wonder if he wants to borrow some money?!?! I would hazard a guess that I'm best answering and letting them know my current address and that I only wish to communicate in written form?
  6. storing notes now. this could become useful to me. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/legal-issues/188093-egg-credit-agreements-what.html
  7. many thanks exasperated. I think they have tried to call me just missed a call from 08003289911. time to get papered up! Then request one from them with this letter, you are going to need it to enable anyone to help you. Send it recorded delivery (cost £1.14p) and keep the receipt. 8. as a beginner here was told i needed to start a new thread so here goes anyone feeling super helpful? there are references to a two part letter from cabot but also from egg in the same envelope, sounds just a little wrong to me! hello I'm about to go down this path it would appear and as a complete novice would appreciate instructions and help. firstly a question: If the last contact you had from egg was in 2006 (had a little disagreement with the individual who called my mobile. Somehow, despite not having a card on the account for 2 years, the balance went over the credit limit while all minimum payments had been made for the 2 years without a card on the account! i stated I'd not pay till they came back to me and they never did) and the cabot letter has been sent to an address you haven't lived at for over 8 years, does the address the CCA was taken from have to be concerned as that is where cabot sent the letter not to another more current address that Egg had on file. (which i no longer reside at) or is it as simple as returning the letters to cabot in the post marked 'not at this address'? and wait for cabot to track me down through electoral roll etc? The owner of the property the CCA was first taken at is concerned about the credit file on his property. Also please do let me know my best course of action. Is there anyone who has a simple contractual or procedural route to minimising the settlement or negating it all together? I need help, please, I've not done this before and it looks like a veritable minefield to meander through!
  9. many thanks will do. having moved house 6 times in 8 years finding the original cca will no doubt be the tricky bit thats if i have kept it. again many thanks new thread coming
