  1. Well all at the same stage, I am waiting too... Claim was ackowledge on the 18th July 2006... and they 'intent do defend' so just playing the waiting game. From what Ive seen on this forum they is it common that they send you an offering letter or do they just silently put the money in the bank... However, I dont want to keep my hopes up either in the hope that they would pay up as nothing great ever happens to me!!!! Knowing my luck they do turn up in court!!!!
  2. Thank you Michael Browne =) I did think that but just wanted to make sure
  3. I got a letter yesterday offering me £1300 tempting but if theyre willing to offer me that amount im sure they can afford to pay me the whole moolah! 28 days to wait.... does it really take that long? Also got a letter today saying theyre intending to defend... :-| do I need to worry??
  4. Halifax has given me 2 offers of payment 1st - £407 ( I accepted as initial payment but not full payment) 2nd - £1300 Do I write to them again and refuse ( I was going to anyway) ? Or shall I just wait until the court date? Thanks
  5. Good luck Ive just sent my claim last week so fingers crossed theyll pay up. Keep us updated
  6. Ahhhh... great, thanks a lot for that
  7. I need help please... The first letter that I received from Halifax offered me a "goodwill gesture" of £407 which I accepted as preliminary payment, but also told them that I will still carry on with the claim for the full amount. I gave them 14 days to respond, which they failed to do. So last on Thurs I filed the claim. However just 5 mins ago I received a letter from them that they are willing to offer me £1300 as a full and final settlement. Does this mean that they are not going to pay the £407 I accepted as a "good will gesture"? Im confoosed! :?
  8. Hi all, Just curious, a mate of mine told me yesterday that he read somewhere that the Banks are stamping out on these claims so apparently they are bringing out a new law soon, so we cant claim unlawful bank charges anymore. Is this true??? Cheers!
  9. Well I've sent off a Subject Access Request requesting the statements from 99 onwards to the Edinburgh address.. lets see how it goes..
  10. Thank you for your replies, I have made a new total for money owed to me, Ive sent the LBA today, Im giving them 7 days to reply, lets see how it goes. :?
  11. Hi, I'm about to send in an LBA to halifax. I have just received a letter from them offering a partial payment of 420 against my original claim of £2040 However, I made a mistake in my original claim amount as it only goes back to 2003, I have a feeling there will be much more. Can I request additional charges to be added to my total claim in the LBA ? Or should I forget it now since I already stated the amount £2040 in my preliminary letter. Thanks all.
  12. Thank you so much for your advice I actually thought about that so I will do that now and see what they say this time. I was actually even thinking about threatening to cancell my subscription maybe thatll give them a kick up the backside and actually do something about this problem
  13. Hi all Can anyone please give me some advice about a service that I have ordered from Sky and have not recieved. On the 20th of April 2006 I phoned up and placed an order for Sky Multiroom, I was given an istallation date (as they do) and the following day I received my Sky Card and letter to confirm the transaction. So I took the day off on the 20th to wait for an engineer, no one called me and as the day progressed the engineer didnt turn up. So I rang Sky and told them what happened. They told me that they cant understand, as it said on their systems that the installation has been completed (when obviously it has not! As the card has NOT been activated). So they said they are really sorry and they would refund me and give me 2 months free subcription, and inform me that to re-order again. So about 2 weeks later May 4 2005, again I rang and paid £49.00 for multi room, was given an istallation date.. etc. Took the day off again... and guess what?! NO BODY turned up, so seething I rang them again and asked for an explanation, I was on hold for about 40 minutes while some incompetent fool was trying to sort out the problem. NO one can give me a plausable explanation. They just told me that the work has been completed and surprise surprise they dont know why its happened. They are aware that there is a fault, but they said they will phone me ASAP when they have rang the engineers and see what has happened. I even said that "Are you sure you are going to ring me back??" their response was YES within 45 minutes! And guess what, I am still waiting. I rang again about 2 days later and again I am going round in circles. I am on hold forever and they cant tell me why it has happened! So I have written a complaint letter addressed to the Customer Care Manager expressing my dissatisfaction and have given a time frame of when to reply. About a week. So far I have not recieved a phoncall or a letter. They still have my £49.00, to tell you the truth, I do not want a refund, I just want the service that I have ordered. I am really peed off now and I dont know what to do. Can anyone please advice me of who to contact and what to do about this situation Thanks a lot
