  1. As Lowlife continue to refuse to send a letter, only a confirmation after I have made payment I have given up on the F&F. Instead Lowell have agreed a one pound per month repayment plan for the next six months. I did speak to O2 but as the debt is assigned they were not interested and referred me to Lowlife. I would like to thank everyone for there advice much appreciated
  2. I should add that Lowell sent what I take to be a notice of assignment dated 10th Jan this year.
  3. The contract started in 2009 and then I upgraded in 2011, soon after that I ended up on the dole, the contract went pear shaped. I have a letter from O2 dated10/01/13 in which they say the account was closed on 13/04/12, it then says on 21/12/12 we transferred your account to Lowell financial a debt purchasing company. Between April and October/November 2012 the account was with Wetcloths.
  4. The amount involved is 270 something and some odd pence, it was with Wescot then sold to Lowlife, I offered to make an F&F to get them off my case. The original creditor is O2 they wrote to me to say quote "We have terminated your agreement" that was more than 18 months ago. Is it possible the contract is dodgy hence no action except threatograms?
  5. Hi guys, Lowell recently agreed a full and final settlement on an old mobile account, however they will not send a F&F letter only a "confirmation" after payment has been received. Not only that but in order to get the confirmation they want debit card details. I explained I will not hand over debit card details until I have the F&F letter, the operator banged about the confirmation - we went round in circles. At the end of the call (Yeah I know bad start Jack) the operator told me as there is no arrangement in place on the system they are unable to stop calls, text messages and threat o grams. Any advice on how I proceed will be much appreciated.
  6. When you took the Payday loan did the company not ask for your bank details? If yes then will the loan company pass them on anyway>
  7. It occurs to me they dont force a two year contract on you, at the time of taking the contract you sign. If it were unlawful I dont think the networks would get away with continuing to offer 2 year contracts. Further as I understand it there is a 14 day cooling off period on any contract where you can take back the handset and provided you have not run up charges terminate the contract without cost.
  8. T-Mobile (Everything Everywhere) will probably sell the debt, I had a bill from them £800+ there were the usual threats then the debt was sold to Crapquest at which point the amount owing dropped by several hundered pounds.
  9. You will probably find that once the network have recovered the cost of the mobile handsets supplied as part of the contract/s it will only be a matter of months until they sell the remainder of the debt at which point the amount owing will drop sharply. I speak from experience in 09 I had an orange contract that went belly up, Moorcrap claimed £800+ after months of threatograms and nusiance calls the debt was sold to Crapquest there first letter stated the amount owing was less than £70. I promptly came to a Full and final arrangement with Crapquest paying just £40 they even sent a letter confirming the F&F
  10. I bet the DCA do not accept your £75 fee and as to Statutory 8% APR as I understand it only a County Court can add Statutory interest to a debt. Though I am open to correction on both points
  11. Has Philips undergone some kind of brain transplant, I spoke to them recently on the phone - yeah I know bad start Jack but needs must. I could not believe how polite the operator/person was, on previous occaisions they have been less than helpful, rude and even hung up on me during conversations.
  12. Hotc25 says the last payment was about 2years ago - What happened to the Provident agent did they give up trying to collect the debt, I only ask as Wescot assign debts to the Provident for collection. This happened to me Wescot had been on my case for some time then assigned it to Provi, thanx to this website I knew the debt was approaching SB status and did not sign the new agreement.
