  1. Credit hire hater I feel your pain as im dealing with the same AMC at the moment. When they contacted me after my accident they said to me it was their risk taking me on as long as I was telling the truth. How long ago did it happen? A data recording of your 1st telephone conversation ? You could ask for everything that they hold on file for you (again someone on here could advise on this better than myself) Is there any way you could get a copy of the footage (maybe someone on here could advise on that)
  2. @unclebulgaria67 it was a referral from dealer to accident exchange
  3. What kind of car did you buy, whats the fault and I take it was a dealer.
  4. Thanks for replying Ganymede & T.C Its wasn't until I took delivery of the hire car I realised that it was on credit hire. I have the rental agreement from the hire company which shows the daily amount although I don't seem to have any paperwork from the AMC regarding the car hire. Thanks Guys for your advice
  5. Sorry thought I had supplied sufficient information in my first post !! Thanks for trying anyway.
  6. 3rd party insurers are disputing the amount of the hire cost. When I asked the total amount they would not tell me and kept stressing I must sign the document and return. So they must have somehow inflated the cost.
  7. the letter is from the accident management company saying that their bill has not been paid by 3rd party insurer. I assume that the management company has paid the hire company. Thanks
  8. Had a think over the letter and although it states that they will not request payment of any legal costs, i have a feeling that they could still hit me with a bill for the hire car. I have the rental agreement here and my signature is not on it. They have also stated that the hire charges are £59 per day for 14 days.
  9. Had a bump in 2011 and as a last resort had to go through an accident management company. My car was taken away and I was given a hire car for 2 weeks. The management company called around 6 months ago and advised that the third pary insurer had admitted responsibility so I thought it was all sorted although I now have received a letter advising that their car hire bill has not been paid. They also state that "Our panel of solicitors or our company will not request payment of any legal costs from you, as long as you do not fail to co-operate" I have to fill a Form of authority and also include my Solicitors contact details. Should I be worried or cautious ? Thanks
  10. We have a 0% all in one halifax credit card and would like to buy a car with it Went to a dealer and they accept cards although there is a fee which is fine but we have seen a similar car which is being sold private and wondering if it is possible to transfer from the card to their bank? if that is possible how do I prove its a purchase to get the 0% thanks
  11. Had a ccj against me in 2007 for a very small amount that I didnt owe anyway, checked my credit file in 2008 with equifax it did have the ccj recorded. I paid the amount and deal with it later and I added a notice of correction and left it at that. I checked last week with equifax and there is no sign of the ccj or any notice of correction. All my previous addresses are listed as well as the voters roll check Would all the credit agencies have all the same info? Definately not a moan, just scratching my head!
  12. We have had our mortgage with Halifax for 12 years and was having a look through all of our documents and the wife and i got talking. The way im looking at it is that my wife gets paid through work anyway. My wife works for the nhs and gets 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay on sickness and i am self employed. Our jobs havent changed since taking out the mortgage. The payments are made up of this: Mortgage repayment cover £50.42 Life cover £16.37 Critical Illness cover £48.15 Total Payment £ 114.94 Basically looking for advice as a bit off our monthly payment would be nice if we are paying for cover we dont need. Thanks
  13. My mother is a council tennant (Scotland) and reprted a damp problem 12 weeks ago. No one from the council knew where the damp was coming from and was guess work as to where the damp was coming from. I called out a builder (friend) who lifted the floor and was able to tell us exactly what the problem was, so we spoke to the council and weeks later they sent out a worker to break up a screed and install a damp proof membrane and re-screed. .........But the council worker basically broke up the screed and put a new one down without a membrane. An inspector came out to the house and agreed that the repair was not done properly and that it would be re-done. They were supposed to start on friday but never turned up, no-one on monday either and no one today so we got the builder to rip it all up again and do it properly this afternoon. We took pictures of the whole process and plan to claim to the council as this is now on the 12th week since reporting it plus the fire had to be removed as well so been without a fire also ( although she does also have central heating) With a quick search on the web it states that a repair can be done using a contractor on the councils list, but the worker they sent in the first place was a sub contractor. Our builder has stated that he would price the job at £260. Main thing is that its fixed but I know the council will not budge. Does anyone know how else to handle this. I also plan to complain to the ombudsman (for local authority councils) Thanks
  14. Domestic & General warranty. Had to have the machine reset and it works again, so fingers crossed it doesnt go again. Thanks for the comments.
  15. Called the warranty people and just as i thought they need an invoice before they will cover. So will just have to pay someone to repair. Cheers
  16. We bought a washer dryer from a relative who had only purchased it 4 months ago. He doesnt know where the machine was bought as his other half had purchased it and was probably bought on her card. (They split up and not on talking terms) The machine now has a fault. So no receipt, although the warranty registration card was blank and we registered our details online. Am i right in thinking that because we bought second hand the warranty is void?
  17. I will in the morning, just thought id see if anyone here had any advice first as i dont want to lose the 4 years no claims i built up just because i took a year out of driving.
  18. Thnks for that. Its the gap between last years renewal and the insurance ive just taken out that they are asking about. Had a look on the web and it states a covering letter about the gap will be needed.
  19. Got new car Insurance cover but there is a gap of 1 year from my renewal and commencement of new insurance and the insurer wants to know if ive been insured elsewhere and the reason for the gap. The only reason i have is that i didnt have a car during that time. Will i have to start from scratch?
  20. Thanks. Dont know who the building society was but im digging as deep as i can. The reason im not willing to let go is for a number of reasons. One being that the estate agent was previously sacked by another company for a similar thing. (Reported in the local paper as selling properties to her partner and selling them on months later making huge profits)........PLus you find loads more stuff on facebook!! Thats going to be her downfall .
  21. Last year we submitted an offer on a repossessed house but our offer was not put forward. The house was sold to a landlord nearly £10,000 less than we offered (Checked zoopla) It has now come to light that 3 other couples also made offers on the same house at the same time as us but their offers were not put forward either. I have asked the estate agents for the solicitors name and address who dealt with the offers but they have said they will not give me their name due to the data protection act ! Without this information im stuck! Thanx
  22. thanx for that. Thought there would be something like that.
  23. Hopefully this is the correct section. Would the freedom of information act apply for information on a neighbour based on the ground that he has spent time in prison, and want to know if he is a risk to anyone in the street. We are in Scotland.
  24. Got a letter from her insurers stating that they wont admit liability as she will not reply to any of their letters. But they want my insurers details to pass onto the Claims and Underwriting Exchange register. Looks like im going to get shafted again as long as she ignores their letters.
