  1. Ok cheers. So if I send copies as proof of value in 1991 would this support my claim. There are 13 houses in my street and half of them also have proof of their house values in 1991/ 1993.
  2. Hello, We applied for for an alteration to our council tax banding and received a letter stating that this was unsuccessful as the proposal was not made within the time period. Letter stated We can only accept your proposal as valid if : 1. If you were the council taxpayer on 1 April 93 you had until 30 November 1993 to make a proposal or 2. If you became the council taxpayer of an existing property after 31 May 1993 you had 6 months from date you became the taxpayer 3. If you became the council taxpayer as a new property you had 6 months from the date of issue of the notice of banding to make a proposal 4. Where an appeal decision which is a relevant decision has been made, a proposal may be lodged within 6 months of that decision We moved into our property in 2007. We found a valuation certificate dated May 1991 for £51000 as well as title deeds Our property is a band E although due to the price value in 1991 The Nationwide website states it should be a band D All my neighbours are the same band E Is there any way to appeal their decision as I have read successful stories (and some not) as it seems that the 6 months time limit would be missed by a large majority of people, or am I missing something. Thanks
  3. Thanks folks for replies. They are Just waiting on a reply from the FOS to see if they cover this. Thanks
  4. Yep the council have stated that they are the client so not possible to communicate with the insurer. According to their letter they have reached deadlock so not budging. My mother in law has asked the council to repair the damage although they refused and said their insurers would deal with it. The shortfall is £2500 and not £500. The council offered £2000 but the cheapest quote is £4550. The reason I thought the financial Ombudsman would get involved was because there was an Insurance Issue . £2500 is alot of money to make up especially when not their fault. Thanks
  5. The council have stated that this was their insurance companies final offer. Two offers have been made although £2500 less than 3 private quotes obtained. A huge shortfall. They also stated in the letter that the LGO would not be able to negotiate on the price and would only look at whether the correct procedures were followed.
  6. Hi, the council caused collapse of a wall while working on another property. The council have claimed through their insurance after admitting liability. They have made two offers which were declined and they have given their final response. I was thinking that because this was through their insurance and a financial matter then the fos would get involved, although unsure because it was a local authority ? Thanks
  7. I have emailed to Ombudsman Service and waiting on a reply from them so thought i would post on here in the meantime as I know they are busy. Can anyone tell me if the Financial Ombudsman Service will get involved with a Local Authority Council ? It is regarding a Liability claim to a building that my in laws made against them to which they admit liability. The issue is with the amount they have offered which is £2500 less than quotes obtained from 3 different builders. They have given their final offer. Any help would be great. Thanks
  8. Great. Many thanks for your help from the start.
  9. Thanks fkofilee, what are the parts that show a drop out ? Just so that I can understand what they sent. Do you also know why they would only supply 2019 ? Thanks again
  10. I have received a SAR from plusnet but just cant make any of the info out. I have contacted them to see if they can put it into laymans terms although they have said this is the info requested. I also asked for specific dates although they have said they only have 2019 on file. Can anyone tell me what this info is that they have sent. Thanks
  11. We are in the process of changing from them anyway but i suggested that we we were paying £35 a month for speeds of 35mbps with guaranteed speeds of 17 but only getting upto 15 nd sometimes 5
  12. Ive said to them that we've had nothing but issues with speeds and times where we have not had any internet. They have replied saying that tests carried out matched the speeds estimated which were 35mbps. When the internet goes slow i always screenshot the test speed so that i have a log. i must have at least 30 tests that range from 5 - 15,bps. They know im clueless with this so told them just to put it into email form. They must be peeing themselves laughing at me lol

  21. The old bloke has been dead a couple of years. He told me himself that he refused them entry to the street. A few neighbours did contact virgin to try and get the cables in the street but they said it would cost too much money. There are only 10 houses in the street so we couldnt pay for that ourselves either. IAs you have picked up i know nothing about this type of technology, and i only use the internet for ebay, youtube etc.. I have 2 kids who have started online gaming and they were moaning about stuff. Thats when I decided to contact Plusnet
  22. Pretty good. There is a mobile mast roughly 300 yards from us. I noticed you mentioned vodaphone. I've done a quick search and they have guaranteed min 25mbps speed and the price is £15 cheaper than we are paying at the moment with no set up fees etc..
  23. Dont know who we are going with yet, going to have a look online tonight. I run a small business so going to have a look at business deals as well. The reasons we left were mainly because of the way we were spoken to. They were not very helpful with regards to the replacement router , and then when we got transferred to the cancellation department they were willing to wave the charge so why not just do that in the first place. I know thats standard practice so you dont leave with any company but that really irritates me. Then theres the speeds that they have admitted were below their estimated speeds. Yes its business and all about making money but we have been customers for years and our full family also have our mobiles with them as well.
  24. Update: Engineer came out and showed us the distance from the cabinet to our home and the speeds that we were given were not achievable, There is a problem with the router as well and plusnet wanted £106 to replace because we were out of contract. Their attitude over the phone was shocking and the guy was very sharp and cutting. We usually found them to be very helpful so sounds as though this guy has had a bad day So we cancelled
  25. update: Tried with new micro filter and still no difference in the speeds. Called plusnet and they sent this although looks like there was interference in the line which i never picked up
