  3. Hi Tosh1 sorry to hear about your redundancy. There are lots of people who are in the same boat as you. Have sent a cca request to Lewis or CL yet I don't think that Lewis or CL are allowed to take a debt over if there is dispute on there.
  4. ive started paying for items using cash instead of plastic as well as trying to buy british, and using small local shops instead of huge supermarkets.

  6. just seen the panorama programme on iplayer. didn't mention that you need a ccj first before a charging order. didn't mention the harrasment from dca's didn't mention excessive charges also found a petetion and just singed it Petition to: Stop banks from being allowed to place charge orders on unsecured loans. | Number10.gov.uk
  7. I've done some research on this and I read somewhere that 1, Charging orders are still being placed on the debter even when the debter is keeping up with payments on the ccj! 2, Some creditors are selling off the debt to dca's even when payments are being made on a regular basis. The dca's then demand full payment and when payment cannit be made go straight for a charging order. On one occaision someone brought a £1000.00 sofa, failed to keep payments because they lost their job. the creditor got a ccj. While the debter was making payments which were regular. the creditor sold the debt to a dca and the dca demended payment within 7 days and went straght for a charging order and got it. The amount owed was now £15000. Yes fifteen thousand. They carried on adding interest. Some DCA's are specializing in this and go and try to buy this kind of debt just so that a charging order can be placed with interest. As far as I'm concerned, an unsecured loan is an unsecured loan. You pay a higher rate of interest for that.
  8. Just emailed David Camreron. I wish this was reported yesterday.

  14. Petition to: Control the use of Charging Orders as a means by which lenders are routinely securing unsecured debts against peoples property. | Number10.gov.uk
  15. Hi EVERYONE I would like to draw everyones attention to a petition that you should all sign. Basically some of the dca's, credit card firms, banks, building societies and other financial institions are hoping for new legislation. This is for everyone who has taken out a unsecured loan, unsecured credit card and other unsecured loans and are experiencing difficuties making payment. A charging order is a when a financial instition issue an (only after a ccj has been placed) charging order via a court and can take the payment of the loan from the equity from your home. This really means that the unsecured loan now becomes secured against your property. The financial institions are currently issuing more charging then ever. I urge you to click on the link below and sign the petition - Please feel free to anyone who knows more about this subject or can explain this better to add to this thread. Thank you
  16. dont sign anything and dont discuss anything over the phone
