  1. I have 3 x payday loans. Wonga UkLoanstore QuickQuid My 3 month plan to pay them back was severly affected by my wifes maternity being cut 3 x months short. This meant having to re-arrange the repayments of 800, 1050 and 1300. First thing I did was to let them all know in advance, cancel my debit card and any recurring payments or continous payment authority, (CPA's). http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17870704 If you cancel your debit card details then these companies will still attack your account and take whatever they whenever they want. This means cancelling the recurring payment or continuous payment authority. Despite the OFT and the FSA TELLING the banks since 2009 that if a customer wishes to cancel any transaction from their account the banks were sending the customer to the payday loan company or retailer to do this . THIS IS WRONG. Payday loan companies, The AA, Gym memerships etc all use these CPA's to ransack our account despite us changing or cancelling the card details. I have even opened up a savings account online to enable me to swipe my wages out to the savers account then back in as I need it to cover my DD's during this time to ensure they do not still swipe my money. If you INSTRUCT your bank to cancel any recurring payments they NEED to do it. I also would suggest to e-mail these payday loan companies and tell them to cancel these CPA's too. Read this link above. UkLoanstore - I emailed 3 weeks before the payment was due. they were very accommodating and agreed to split the debt over 6 months and reduce the 800 to just over 600 for "letting them know early and being a good customer". This will involve me calling them to pay the 6 x 100.00 by debit card. infotls@ukloanstore.co.uk Wonga - I have been advised on this site to wait until the payment is due and default on the repayment to then re-arrange a longer term repayment plan OR around 3 days prior to the amount being due. My payment is due on 4th march. I have e-mailed them (12/2/2013) explaining the situation and instructing them to cancel any CPA on the account. I have a feeling they may contact me and advise to wait until the repayment date has passed before they offer 6 months plus repayment. I will post what the outcome is.collections@wonga.com QuickQuid - I e-mailed them expaling the situation. They sent an e-mail saying they are sorry to hear that and they would be happy to help me in "my time of need". To action this I was to enter into LiveChat on their website. As the loan is not overdue I was advised they can only split it into 4 x a payments. I was told that if I need it longer I need to wait until the day after the loan is due then speak to the collections department. At this point I thanked them for thir time, told them that I would be doing this and told them to remove my work telephone number from their contacts. I received an e-mail the next day saying my contact number,(work) was listed as non contact. I e-mailed them today INSTRUCTING them to cancel any CPA/recurring payments between us and explained that I will be defaulting to enable me to pay the loan back over at least 10 months. support@quickquid.com I will post the outcome but it seems that the FSA and the OFT have ensured that these payday loan companies have got their act together in relation to repayments arrangements. I have looked at a lot of posts to get this info and some of it may be incorrect so to the more experienced members please feel free to add to this. I will post the relies as I get them. It seems however that the banks are slow to understand that they have to do what the customer says
  2. when should this be done? I owe them money on 4/3/2013. Do I contact them now or 3 days before or after the repayment date? confused .com

  4. this CPA or recurring payment is scary. The FSA have told the banks that if someone requests to cancel a transaction at the bank then this MUST be completed and therefore if any further transactions are taken from the account then this would be an unauthorised transaction. The banks are frequently telling the customers to contact the retailer or payday loan company to cancel this CPA or recurring payment. The direct debot scheme offers more protection than the Continuous Payment authority. This is why even when we cancel our debot card and have no direct debot set up they can just take as much as they want whenever they want. I am going to call the bank of scotland today to cancel these CPA's and to test their knowledge on this and then I will cancel my debit card. I will then contact Wonga and QQ to request that any recurring payment/continous payment authority is cancelled immediately.
  5. what is the cpa that needs cancelled - what does this abbreviation stand for?
  6. if you go onto their live chat and if your account is in arrears, (one day over re-payment date) they have a legal obligation to offer you a longer payment plan and freeze the interest. 4 x month is offered if your account is not late yet. as you have defaulted you can arrange payments to suit you. change your debit card details and account details if possible>
  7. QQ will allow the amount to be split into 4 x payment pre default and more the day after the amount is due after you speak to collections dept
  8. the information on this post is very useful as I plan to default on my quick quid loan this month as my circumstances have changed a lot. I have asked them not to contact my work> i hope it works. I have e-mailed them now asking for an instalment plan but if they refuse do I just default on it and use the live chat and ask for collections?
  9. I would be happy for them to continue the collections process so long as they did not contact me at work. Cancel debit cards, change bank details and let the collections team come back and beg you for the 50.00 per month
  10. Great advice, What is the e-mail method of contact? Is this on the homepage? Mine is due on 4/3/2013 so I contact them on the 1st?
  11. My circumstances have changed in our household income is being drastically reduced and my 3 x month payback plan is now null and void. I now plan to 1 - contact wonga, quickquid and ukloanstore. 2 - cancel my debit card 3- ask the bank to change my sort code and account number 4 - hope they do not call my work as everyone will know my business. I have seen on other forums that quickquid are relentless at this. I wish to keep all comms to e-mail. what is the best course of action and what template to use for no phone calls?
  12. if you successfully negotiate a repayment plan with these companies do they : call your work? slap a default on your credit file? JB
  13. Hi, I am About to Voluntary Terminate my finance agreement after paying over half. The Car has developed serious faults. According to BVRLA 's fair wear and tear guidelines and Customer services Mechanical aspects of the car are not checked merely exterior and interior appearance of the car. The rep is due to collect the car early next month. I thought the rep was going to put the car on the back of a transporter but it turns out the rep is to drive the car away. Upon startup/driving away the rep will see that there are faults. Question: Can I just give all documents/v5/mot/service history, then let the rep inspect the vehicle and get the paperwork? Has anyone VT'd a car with mechanical faults before?
  14. Santander, Black horse and other Car Finance suppliers prefer to accept finance from reputable dealers preferably with large turnover. This is just what they do. If they accept 50-200 applications in one day from Car Supermarkets, they are more likely to accept customers with less favourable credit due to the amount of applications. Also at large car supermarkets the customer is more likely to accept 10-15% APR as opposed to the smaller retailer.
  15. Hi guys, I have a POOR score with Equifax, ( to which they are still to explain) and a Good score with Experian. I would like advice from anyone that has been accepted with Available Car, Car People and Eddie Wright car supermarkets with less than great credit ratings. They have some good cars at good prices at the moment. I am aware they charge higher than normal but after driving a 4.2 V8 money pit for the last 2 years, I have to get a car on finance before I can resolve the Equifax issue( currently with the ICO). Ideally I would love to go with a car finance company that only searches Experian to get a more favourable rate. Please anyone with a car on finance from any of these companies post their experiences, findings.
  16. Well after having the car back a few weeks the sqeaking from the suspension has gotten louder and the back of the car sits lower at one side. I am very concerned about the issues. If these cars are "jacked" up incorrectly it can affect the ride height sensors. I think they have botched these because my OSR tyre is under tha arch. What should I do now? Call Elephant and ask them to send it to a "real" repair centre?
  17. The X-type AWD was the most reliable and best handling car I have owned. Combined with the cheap service parts it is a good car. I have owned BMW 3 and 5 series, Jaguars XJ and other prestige marques but the X-type is the best. The chassis is the only thing Ford mondeo. If you look at jaguarforum.co.uk under the XF category you will see what I mean. The XF is a RWD show pony. The X-type is a powerful, reliable and handles well in the snow and wet unlike the rest of the Jaguar range. I have rented cars many times from AC and dual control learner cars. When you returned the car you are to return it with the same amount of fuel in it as when you took it away. I put fuel in the Astra before taking it back so it was not on the red line. This is not just good service but just good manners. The fuel tank was not removed. I had to take the car 25 miles to Paisley twice then they drove the car to Glasgow and back and used up all my fuel. This all happened because they did not carry out the repairs to a satisfactory standard. Bad manners and downright rude, especially after they got £2k of business.
  18. It is Arnold Clark that are being picky. They got over £2k worth of work. If I get a hire car from them it is returned with the same amount of fuel as when it is taken away. This is their rule. This is another shocking example of the customer service from AC. The XF has been plagued with electrical issues and bad build quality. Exactly the issues I am trying to get away from. Not a good idea. The XF is RWD too. The X-type 2.5 Sport I owned for 3 years from 2005 til 2008 was reliable and cheap to maintain and service. The X-type 3.0 Sport 2007 is AWD. Another reason why it makes sense. AC are intolerable as Repairers and sales people. AVOID.
  19. The car had to go to Jaguar in Glasgow from Paisley because of the mistakes from Arnold Clark. They used up all my fuel then refused to give me it back. If I took a courtesy car from them they would expect the same fuel in it when it was returned. They fixed the issues to do with the accident to a high standard finally but this customer service issue has annoyed me greatly. I will be speaking to elephant to get my £25 of fuel back. Imagine having to ask for it! The bodyshop manager was an idiot saying they were out of pocket having to send it to Jaguar- THIS WAS THEIR FAULT
  20. well after turning up to get my car I had enough fuel in my Jaguar to get to the petrol station if I was lucky. I had a quarter tank in it when I left it with them. The bodyshop manager refused to give me my fuel. The reason? I brought the courtesy car back on the monday after being called on the saturday to say the car was ready. They "could" have charged me for not bringing the car back within 24 hrs. This is shocking and I will be getting my money from Elephant and complaining about him.
  21. It has been at Jaguar for 12 days. It is them that have been "working through" the error codes on the dash. I have been informed that the bodywork has been repaired and finished to a high standard. The headlight has been reinstalled too. I was informed by Elephant that the two rear drive shafts are worn and this is causing errors on the dash which cannot be cleared until they are replaced. This will not be done under insurance as they are worn. They have founds "dozens" of error codes which have been cleared and fixed. I am now waiting to view the report, inspect the car then test drive it. I am only keeping this car for 6 months until my finance ends then I am getting rid of it. Going back to BMW or Lower model X-type which I had previously, (much more reliable)
  22. Gareth at Quality and complaints at Elephant called me nearly 3 weeks into the cars 2nd trip to the garage and told me that Jaguar have nearly finished doing "all the diagnostics". I called Arnold Clark today and they advised that "the Abs sensors are all GONE as is the rear driveshafts". I am confused as I was under the impression the car was there to be fixed not just to be told what was wrong. I called Gareth at Elephant but he is off til tomorrow. I know that the bodywork issues and headlight problems have all been repaired. I need to express my concern that the car is still not fixed and why there are limitations being put on the repair. Have Elephant given the go-ahead for repairs or not? Are they going to start arguing with me about "WEAR AND TEAR" or are they going to do their job and return the car to me in the condition it was before the accident? HMMMMMmmm
  23. The car has been with Arnold Clark for 10 days! They have now sent it to Jaguar because the errors were not resolved by doing the repairs again. I will keep you posted.
  24. I am worried that after diagnostics they come back and say all these parts etc need replaced. This of course would be a blatant lie given they they just happened during repair and it MUST be sensors/earth studs etc. It is a dilemma. I will just let them work at it and then speak to Elephant after they present their findings.
