    Off we go!

Welcome, and well done. Don't expect anything like loyalty from banks. All they are interested in is profits
  2. Nothing any bank does surprises me. All they are interested in is huge bonuses for senior management and dividends for shareholders. It almost makes me feel like singing the 'Red Flag'
  3. You cannot go wrong if you file against your local branch.
  4. Welcome. Would suggest you spend a couple of days reading around the FAQs and the forum. Time well spent.
  5. You obviously have not read the FAQs. Please do so. And around the forum - all the answers you want and others you didn't think you need are there.
  6. Haley can you keep your posts in one thread please - its impossible to follow otherwise.
  7. Haley, your post would also suggest that you have not done enough reading of FAQs and the forum. Please do so, so that you are fully prepared.
  8. 28 days from date of service. I'll bet they will cave in before you enter the Courtroom
  9. You set the timetable - keep to it. Banks want delay to drag your claim out in the hope that you'll give up. Which bank are you with, so that we can keep your posts in the relevant forum.
  10. I think that they don't know where to turn to justify the charges. In their solicitors' letter to me they did not try to justify by saying their had been manual intervention but that the fees had been laid down in my contract with the bank and therefore must be paid. Nonsense obviously, as they would not go to court. I see charges rising again, as a result of the fees of teams of solicitors trying to find a valid defence and 'loans' to political parties to gain influence.
  11. Lloyds have not as yet defended a claim in court. However, you must prepare yourself for that eventuality! It's been said before - this is not a get rich quick scheme, you have to put work in understanding the principles and law involved, but there's no reason why you should not succeed.

They haven't been to court yet, but you never know! Keep waching the forum, there are a few cases going on. In my case they acknowledged the claim, made an offer which I refused, paid up, downgraded my account and won't give me a debit card. However my parachute account does!
  13. Have completed poll. I know there have been other results and I'll try to chase up some people to post.
  14. Bonuses and shareholders.
  15. Claim settled in full. Account downgraded. No debit Card. Will keep account open - all major transactions in parachute account in future.
  16. You all must thank Bankfodder and Dave for the site. They pay for it. The ethos is that the site is free and open to all(except Banks!). They have asked for contributions to buy law books. These are very expensive and have to be bought year after year as the law changes (statute, case and common). If enough is raised, they will also be able to subscribe expensive on-line research facilities. If you want to help, and can afford it, please make a donation, however small. See: We'd like to buy some law books in the General forum
  17. Might not be an idea to sever the claim now? 1st claim for D/Ds, second later for ODs or something on those lines?

    First Steps

They do. Your local branch staff probably only have authority to remove one charge
  19. Their offer is conditional. You should reject it and then follow with the letter before action. However, it's your money and your decision.
