  9. MoneyClaim now shows that Nationwide have acknowlegded the claim as of 16th August, and that they have 28 days from the intial date to file a defence or pay up. The intial date was 8th August, so that gives them to 5th September. Can someone just confirm I am fine to wait until that date, because I did receive a letter from MoneyClaim with Charles Bacons name on it. Im pretty sure the note states that they intend to the defend the claim, but from what I gather thats standard practice for them. Just wondering when i'll get my money now?
  10. Then why is he's email given? If he's not the right person to be emailing? Any if your reading Charles, get to work on my moneyclaim, I did warn you and now your gonna have to fork out court fee's. Totally unecessary, can't wait for you to close my accounts aswell. Fantastic!
  11. Just checked MoneyClaim: My Claim has been issued, says the defendent has 14 days to respond. It also as another option to "default" or something else, whats this mean? and should I be doing anything with it?
  12. Well I think they are just making themselves more work, people who are using this forum are not going to back down, and they are prepared to go all the way. Do think he is smoked or unsmoked? I do love a good BLT.
  13. I have written a few emails to him, and although I get "read" receipts he never replies. One email I sent was asking for the refunds, and telling him that if it comes to it I would be filing a claim in the small claims court. I explained that if this happend then I would be claiming interest and the court fee's meaning that Nationwide would be losing more money. I thought this seemed pretty fair, but obvisiously he doesnt care or maybe he likes the court action. Which is pretty stupid in my opinion, I was saying that "you owe me £410.50 in charges, I will accept a refund of £400 to settle it quickly and amicably" but he didnt reply, so now im claiming for £450 odd plus court fees. MoneyClaim must be raking it in with the amount of claims going through them at the moment!
  14. Hi, It seems that Natiowide make you go through the whole process i.e Prelim (14 days) and then LBA (14 days) and finally MoneyClaim. Its a long process, but just ignore any letters from Nationwide saying they are referring your complaint to another department and have 8 weeks to do so. Stick to the 14 day deadlines and if they haven't paid up, go straight to MoneyClaim. I have today filed the moneyclaim and I am hoping that they will be refunding the money by the end of the month.
  15. Your best bet would be to apply to one bank at a time, as each time a credit check is made on you it leaves a mark that can affect your credit score. I am going to be in the same position whereby i have a £1400 overdraft that I am currently oweing £800 on, its going to be hard to repay that once Nationwide close the account, but thats what Its got to be. Hopefullyt the £450 i get back from them will go someway to helping.
  16. Dolly, I used to work for Nationwide and up until i left in Oct 03, there system was ancient compared to what you would expect a leading bank to be. So if the system is still the same, I would think that it would be possible to open another account with them after they close the accounts.
  17. Have just completed my MoneyClaim online, paid the £50 fee, so now Nationwide owe me £410.50 in charges, £35.29 in interest and £50 in court fees. I know I said I would be filing it on 10th August, but i was getting bored, I have give Nationwide plenty of time anyway(more than the 28 days) and there not going to refund me, so its time for the showdown. Anyone know how long it should be before I get my money now?
  18. Thanks Dolly, I can't wait to FRY Mr Charles, and soon i'll be bringing home the BACON.

Was just reading the sexy girls post and felt some sypathy for her, LOL. Although she was annoyed and vented her anger that no one replied to her post within 7 hours, she was shot down by the mods. (rightfully so) But I was checking she was alright as I like to help ladies in need.

    ATM Charges

The only cash machines that do this are the ones in Pubs, Clubs or Petrol stations etc. You cannot claim on this because by withdrawing the money you are authorising the machine to charge you. These type of machines are hired out and I would immagine the shops or garages receive money in order to have the machine in their shop, meaning the charges they charge are the hiring companies income. The main bank ATMS don't charge you as they are provided for use by themselves. I try my best not to use the ones that charge and will only do so if I need money and theres not another one around for miles.
  21. I love you too. My statements took about 2 weeks, but that was in May, I suspect they are more busy now as the sites growing by the day meaning more people are requesting them.

Hello darling, Hows tricks, seems everyones being a meany to you, but just so you know Im here for you babe.
  23. Got my statements back in a nice binder, Total amount owed just shy of £400. Sent Prelim bout 4 weeks ago, and I admit i've been slacking with deadlines, but my LBA would have got to them yesterday (27th July) Which means I will be filing the money claim on 10th August should they not pay up. I have had replies from them saying they have up to 8 weeks to investigate etc, that I have just laughed at. They seem to keep mentioning the Financial Ombudsman but if they realised I am not making a complaint, I am just asking for my money back. Just wanted to ask if people are still getting joy with Nationwide, and does Charles Bacon ever reply to emails? I get read reports but no reply.
  24. Looks like you got your statements back before me, i've been waiting since 10th May. Im waiting for a similar delivery.................. Hurry up Nationwide.
