  1. I'll look after the last post while everyone watches I'm a Z-Lister...
  2. **sneaking in... taking a quick look...** Nope.. I'm safe... IT'S MINE!!! ALL MINE... MWAHAHAHA!!!!
  3. I see what you're saying Slick Still, I do, at least, feeling like I'm gaining more control over the account now that Barclays can't take anymore of these extortionate fees. By the end of Feb, my account should be back within the agreed overdraft limit and thanks to the temporary overdraft increase arranged by the Collections dept, I won't be incurring fees for being over my limit. Have to be grateful for small mercies at the moment! I'll keep the thread updated when I hear more. Thanks for the advice so far!
  4. Hi Slick I have been considering opening another account elsewhere. With all the grief I've had off them, I think I'll be ditching them anyway once my account is back out of the red. As with the charges, I'll have to have a close look and my statements, because as I said, I opted out of the reserve on 5th, yet they're charging me up to the 9th. I opted out over the phone, and had a letter confirming this. I am very much looking forward to claiming all these charges - I might actually be able to afford to take my son on holiday next year!
  5. Oh, and must visit opticians... nearly out of lens solution.
  6. Ooh, now it's getting nasty! Must remember to buy cornflakes tomorrow...
  7. Received an e-mail from my new pal at head office this afternoon, re £154 for 7 reserve charges:- I have liaised with our Collections department who have informed me that when a plan is agreed, any charges must be brought forward and included in the plan so the arrangement does not fail. They are not refunded or cleared. Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but having spoken to quite a nice chap in Collections, who assures me that even though this charge takes me £15 over the temp limit I've agreed to, it will not cause the agreement to fail. So I'm feeling much calmer now than I have done all day! He just said that they ask for the £15 to be paid back ASAP. I told him I could do that next week. I do think I need to see about opening an account elsewhere though.
  8. So here is the situation at the moment. On 5th November, I contacted customer services to removed the reserve facility from my account. I also requested that they waive the charges for this month and due to me being in some finacial difficulty, refund some if not all of the charges previously applied. The gentleman on the phone said her could not do this, but gave me a different number to call, saying that they would be able to help. It turned out that the number he had given me was for a credit counselling service - not what I had asked for. I called back and spoke to a different gentleman, who then gave me another number to call - this one was for their collections dept who couldnt help me as they had no record of my account as their systems updated overnight. Anyway, I contacted them the next day to see if they could help with refunding/waiving my charges. They could not, but could arrange a repayment plan to bring my account back into order. Again, not what I'd originally asked for, but agreed all the same, since it was an issue that needed to be addressed. I was finally given the number for customer relations, which is what I should have been given in the first place! Spoke to some guy, who was as about as helpful as a brolly in a huricane. He told me that the charges had been correctly applied and there would be no refund. Having read a thread in the Bear Garden about CEO e-mail addresses, I got the e-mail of the CEO at Barclays and wrote to him. The next morning, I received a reply from someone in his office, asking me to provide my details, which I did. I thought I might finally be getting somewhere. However, I received a phone call from a very nice lady at head office, who told me that while the test case was going on, they would not be making any refunds of reserve charges. Even though the reserve fees are excluded from the complaints handling waiver, Barclays have decided to review the impact of the House of Lords judgment on the reserve usage fees before responding to my complaint. (This was confirmed in a letter that I have received today). But it doesn't stop there. As I posted last night, I checked my account online and found 7 reserve fees amounting to £154 for the period between 21st Oct and 9th November  I duly bashed out another e-mail to the lady I have been dealing with, who replied this morning to say she would look into it. Sorry for the long post, but I thought I'd better give the fuller picture of what's going on. Needless to say, I'm feeling sick with worry and have shed more tears than this lot is worth over it. I just hope the nice lady at head office can give me some better news, although I'm not holding my breath. Its Friday 13th too. Thanks for reading.
  9. Hi Slick, thanks for the reply. I have already opted out of the reserve - I did this on Thursday 5th November.
  10. Nah... not the last post post. Fairwell & goodnight!
  11. Oh, I should add that I have just tried calling customer services, but conveniently enough, they are experiencing technical difficulties
