  1. A man comes home from work, looking dejected, and his wife asks "What happened to you?" "Leave me alone," says he, "I've had a bad day." "I want to know why you are so miserable," says she. "Okay," says he, "my boss walked in whilst I was humping the bacon slicer, and fired me" "Oh my god," says she, "what happened to the bacon slicer?" "Oh, she got fired as well..."
  2. It looks like it was a good weekend, and the Eden project looks like a lovely place to visit. I might think about it when I get my holidays in August.
  3. That just about sums it all up - they make a big issue of earning interest on your current account, but the reality is that they are still ripping us off.
  4. That was fast - my statements turned up today in four separate envelopes. Next step is to start calculating what they owe me...if I need help with the spreadsheets can anyone advise me as and when?
  5. Hampstead Heath is not too much of a trip from Wimbledon - I might just make it on the Sunday.
  6. After reading around this seems like the preferred action - that you will accept their offer as partial settlement of your claim, but you will continue with the claim until they have settled to your complete satisfaction. It seems that you also need to let them know that the claim is now also accumulating interest at 8%, as well as having your court costs added on top. Good luck.
  7. Thanks for that - I do everything for her, she just has to agree to it, by signing the letters and acknowledging my assistance to the judge?
  8. Hi, me again, with a quick question: I have a friend who is very short sighted, so much so that she has problems using a PC, reading and writing letters. What are the rules, if any, that would allow me to act on her behalf, because I think she would find the process both tiring and daunting if she were to take on the bank herself. Thanks.
  9. Hi, I spent a couple of days reading round, and it seems that statements are not enough - they don't give you any notes or other information that might be relevant. Best advice seems to be to do this the slow but sure way.
  10. Data protection letter sent yesterday afternoon - fingers crossed:
  11. Thanks guys - I'll have a look around and then start my own thread. Jen.
  12. Hi, After watching Whistleblower last month, and also after a couple of my friends got their charges back, I'm going to be taking on HSBC. I've had charges since my student days, so it would be good to get my money back. I'll have a read round for a couple of days, then if I need any help will it be okay to just ask? Jen.
