  4. CHARLEY, Thanks for the info. The 14 days is up on monday. The LBA was sent on the 21st, they responded to me on the 23rd to tell me that they will let me know how this complaint is going in 4 weeks. On monday (14th day) I shall issue court proceedings along with a letter and a copy of the court agreement. Does this sound like im heading down the right path? 8. hey guys, had some brilliant feedback from trading standards today!! take a look at my forum: citi loan [problem].......!!! I'm buzzing........lol
  9. well some good news!!!! Trading standards have come back to me today. I have been by them to contact Citi to ask for the following.. the exact detailed breakdown of the calculations. to ask which method has been used to calculate: rule of 78 or the ariel(the new way) and a full S.A.R. To my suprise, this is all calculated at the trading standards by a computer programme sent to them by the OFT. And yes!! They have stung me on the final settlement figures....in fact if they have used the rule of 78, then i owe them nothing!! better still if they have used the ariel (new way) they owe me!!!!!!! I need to find out the exact method from them first before the exact calculations have been finalised... will keep you all informed.
  10. Hiya folks!! Any of you guys know an answer to this? I'm paying £327.00 per month on a loan. Basically I cannot afford this any longer. Am I able to make lower payments if I cant afford this anylonger? Id be gratefull of any help!! thanks
  11. Hayley, me, you and others have taken these loans with insurances that we did not realy want. To a degree it is your fault, and mine and anyone else who has taken them without reading the small print. Wer'e you told that if you did not take this insurance then you would not get the loan? I was, along with many others. If you read my forum I have had some great advice from others, you need to read as many forums regarding the ppi's and citifinancial as possible. You will get loads of brilliant information off here, its just a matter of digging and reading. You are not alone on this one!! Lets keep each other informed of any progress we get. I'm at the moment trying to study the "rule of 78" which is an early settlement punishment!! let us know when you have any info!! chin up!!
  12. Yes, this is the letter above is the response from them!! It makes no sense to me at all.....
  13. response received today from citi!! I'm sorry to hear you have had difficulty in understanding the details of your loan and insurance agreements. However having reviewed your 6 accounts, I am unable to accept your claim that the insurance policies were mis-sold to you. With regards to your allegation that you did not request or require the PPI insurance on your loans or need this cover, and you were advises that the insurance was compulsory, I would advise that there were no evidence to indicate that the insurances were mis-sold. The loan documentation clearly states that the insurance was optional and you also signed a declaration stating that you understood the terms. Copies are enclosed for you reference. Furthermore, with regard to the most recent loans written on **/**/** an insurance analysis form was completed in order to assess your inssurance needs. These forms were completed by the branch employee based on information supplied by you, and signed to confirm accuracy. Having reviewed the two forms you signed, I can confirm that they both support the insurances that you were sold. I enclose copies of these forms for your convenience. In the circumstances therefore there is no evidence to substantiate your allegations of misselling of insurance. Regarding to your request for details of insurance rebated to you, the account documantation contains the following information in respect of each loan. This then shows Rebates, but nothing else on all agreements. It does not tell me exactly how these calculations have been made!!!!!!!!!!! then: Turning your complaint about the application of the "Rule of 78" to your redemption figures. There are a number of methods of calculating redemption figures including those where a statutory rebate is provided. One of those formulae is called the "Rule of 78". For loans written prior to 31st may 2005, the rule of 78 calculation is allowed under the regulations, though (as you correctly put in your letter) the new regulations do not act retrospactively. Account ******* has not yet been redeemed but I can confirm that the appropriate acturial will be applied in accordance with the current regulations. I realise that this is not the outcome you were hoping for, and if you are unhappy with the handling of you complaint, you may refer to the finance and leasing association (FLA). Signed MR.R.Sole......!! As I said, these agreements are in the hands of the Trading Standards. Can any of you reccomend further steps??? Thanks all.
  14. these have been hand delivered to the trading standards today. he tells me that they will go through these agreements with a fine tooth combe ! If i am correct with my calculations, and are proven citi to be wrong, what will happen? will i have to take this to court, or do the trading standards have other ways? also am i realy able to make them an offer of a more comfortable payment? Can they refuse? will this black-list me for ever and a day? This is not secured so i do beleive that my home is safe. can any you guys help with this?
  15. THANKS BOTH!! these have been forwarded to the trading standards today.!! im expecting a call from a guy there this afternoon. will keep you informed. thanks again
  16. Just one more question!! If things dont work out for me (WHICH THEY WILL) !! What would happen if i could no longer afford to pay these installments any longer? They would possibly send me to a collections agency right??...and then what?
  17. Twill, The LBA. Where did you get that from ? I'd be interested to see that myself??!!
  18. Hiy Guys.. Twill, I am also in your situation..Look at the "citi loan [problem]" forum.
  19. You are right Caro.. I do have the attn of the press, and to be honest I think I might be relying on them too much!! Well, as you can see from previous replies I have given Citi 14 days to back to me, which Is today but they have not responded!! They asked me for £30.00 to get the breakdown of the calculated loans, but as advised this should be no more than £10.00, but they were not too keen on that....£30.00 or nothing! I know that I have been mis-sold the PPi's, I also beleive that I have been stung with some hefty Final settlement Charges, But surely If I have only ever borrowed £9,900 a £21,000 Penalty is a bit hefty surely?! Caro, you are right what you said to me. I realy have had a good look at the forum's, and so far I think that I have done everything I can do up to now. I'm just so worried that things are not going to go my way and I'm going to be Paying this unnecessary lump of money for the next 5 years.. Thanks Guys, I'm very lucky to have 3 mod's with me on this, and I realy do apprheciate your Support..thankyou!
  20. well citi still have not responded to me. The 14 days are up tomorrow! GMTV have also contacted me today, I have posted them my agreements. Somebody please come back to me!! I'm feeling alone again on this...Martin,Caro, gizmo..........
  21. help!! i requested my statements 51 days ago. I received 3 years worth on the 17th april. sinse this time i have heard nothing!! I have called them 9 times only to be told they will send an urgent e-mail to the right department. I have sent 3 fax's over to the head of banking(with no reply) I have also sent a letter from off the forum telling them that I shall report them to the OFT and the ombudsman. But nothing in return!! i'm now realy wound up with em!! I dont want to carry on being passed pillow to post, i want to go straight to court and get some action. is this possible?? please can somebody please advise me if there is a way round this, if so what do i do??
  22. Hiya Gizmo! No further up-date from citi yet!! Nothing in todays post anyway! Any future correspondence i'll keep you informed! Thanks again, It's good to know I have somebody!!
  23. hayley, we will....!! thanks caro for your help!! have a great sunday both!
  24. I have had some advisor look at my agreements!! look at this as an actuall breakdown!!.. overall i have borrowed £9.942.63. in total so far I have paid them back £12.963.54. thats £3020.91 over my actuall sum i borrowed. I still owe them £18,005.35 !!!! so with the £12.963.54 that I have paid + £18.005.35 comes to a total of £30.968.89....I only borrowed £9.942.63 !! which means £21.026.26 goes to them!!! twenty one thousand pounds!!!!!!!!! What a bunch of (edit)!!!
