  1. Martin Old CAG friend are you still out there? Rebecca
  2. Hi Unclebulgaria (by the way I loved the wombles and wish they were still around). I thought the same but I am going to paste some information from the comparison sites so you can see why I am worried. "You or any other person living in the home have never had insurance refused, withdrawn or had insurance subject to special terms or extra precautions imposed" Do you know Uncle where I could get a definate clarity in wording about this before rushing ahead to take my cheapest quote? One of the other compare insurer's specifically asked the question of cancelled policy and had a drop down box and I was able to chose unpaid policy, this then out of 150 ish insure left me with 2 that would insure me at 10 times the price I used to pay.?? Any advice is greatly appreciate. xxxxxx Bex
  3. Hi I wonder if you can help? I had house contents insurance out with the Post Office and it was a happy relationship. In a nutshell, I got very ill for about 9 weeks, was bed bound unable to do anything and unbeknown to me my DD's didnt go through as I had taken my eye off the ball. (usually if one account is running low I top it up from another) This I was unable to do due to being so ill. Because my DD's didnt go through the Post Office cancelled my policy. Today the minute I opened my letters regarding this, I called them to ask them to continue my policy and would pay any shortfall. Basically they said they couldnt do that and re took all of my details, now including cancellation and they came up with they couldnt insure me again I have been online and done all the usual compare sites and I am left with 4 quotes of companies that will insure me, out of hundreds and all of them are ridiculous prices. Am i going to have to declare cancellation of policy to every insurer now for ever and a day and if this was home insurance, would it affect my car insurance. Cant believe all of this is happening becasue I have been ill. Hope someone can help Thanks:-D
  4. Hi Guys... I had an account with BCard 97 - 03. Account closed as I had defaulted on it. I had a theraputic shreading session after and have no knoweldge of my account number. I submitted my SAR 28th April and have recieved a response basically saying that there are unable to trace any information. I have not moved, changed my name or my birthday to my knowlege and I thought that they had to legally keep my information for a least 6 years anyway. Any suggestions please?? Thanks Bextar
  5. Hi wondering if anyone can help. I sent the SAR to BCard on 28th April as standard with the £10 cheque. Today I have recieved a letter stating that "they are unable to trace any information relating to an account in my name with the details i have supplied. If the account has been closed it is possible that the information has been deleted from our systems and therefore will not be available. If you have any more information that you can supply, ie change of address change of name etc please send for the attention of the above." Well I dont have any account numbers, i shreaded everything, I have not moved or changed my name. But it was passed on to a default company and cant recall who they were? I know the account dates were 97 - 03 as it is on my credit report. What should I do next? Thanks for reading.
  6. Thanks paintball, thanks Doo, I will carry on regardless then. He must have been refering to they will only offer you that amount but didnt tell me they will settle if the threat of court looms. Obviously he missed that bit out. Please keep posting with your situations it really helps to know their tactics!! And Lynn what happened with you? Bextar
  7. Hi Lynn I have been reading your thread with interest... and wondered where you had got with it now?? I too have submitted my LBA to Capital one and have just been told on the phone that there is NO WAY they will offer any more than the difference between the old charge £20 and the new £12. That they will happily refund the £8 x how ever many charges.. Did they try this on you lynn? Or anyone? Thanks
  8. Hi As discussed before, exactly the same thing happened to me, i came from Money expert site and had done the interest straight away. Proceed as you would have with the claim, just when it comes to court make sure your claim is 100% up to date and correct. Good luck. Bextar
  9. Hi alanmac You went off the chat room just before I posted this to the room. Thought you might find it interesting as the bank didnt attend court. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/announcement.php?f=84&a=84 Hope this helps. Bextar
  10. Thanks Sea, Appreciate your help and others, will keep it updated about what happens next. Bextar

  12. Hi all, I sent Citi Financial a SAR and I have only got back 1.5 yrs of transactions back from them. When it should be 5. How can I word the letter to them asking for it in full? Thankyou
  13. Well.... What I have done now is to send a rejection letter for the £550 and also call them to tell them I had sent it. My N1 has become now a simple process as it is for the whole amount as I asked them to remove the £550 form my acount as I am taking them to court for the full amount. So now it is wait time until I get all my forms etc back from court.
  14. Thanks Matty, Sea and LIVELY Really helpful. Bex:D
