  2. Hi John, thanks fo reply,i will now start the long haul against first trust and try to retrieve my hard earned cash.its looks as by other posts it wont be easy.can you please advise as to the next step should a send template as below http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/bank-templates-library/671-2-letter-preliminary-approach.html many thanks
  3. Hi All, hope someone can help me from here..got my charges back from first trust last week and from 2002 to last year when i closed the account they amount to £2544 Just to add at this point this was a buisness account.some of the fees were for £11 up to 25/9/02 then changed to £12, on the 8/9/03 they changed again to £13.most of the charges are referral charges with a few letter charges.i have noticed quite a few times when they have charged me this referral fee up to 4 days in a row making that £52 a week in some cases other times 2 to 3 referral charges a week.does anyone know if these charges are deemed fair enough because i have read that others were charged £38 and if not what is my next step.also has a test case ever been heard yet and does anyone know the outcome...many thanks......
  4. hi everyone, i've been reading the posts on first trust with interest,i had a buisness account with them which has since been closed and i know that because the account wasnt controlled properly i ran up a lot off charges.do you think if i send them a dpa and a cheque/postal order for £10 recorded delivery will they still send me all my charges.i have some of the old statements but not them all.does it matter if its sent to the local branch or a head office?cant wait to get the ball rolling and see what happens.
  5. thanks for reply mrsfoot, i will send of dpa to first trust because i know the account number,do i send it to my local branch or head office? i will try to dig up more details on the a&l one but do i send it to a&l or mbna because i think i settled the account with them.i will then send the dpa to whichever applies with whatever details i have minus account number, plus id ( photo copy of drivers licence) and see what happens.thanks for help i will prob split this thread up into 2 when i get up and running
  6. hi everyone, i have been reading through the basics and although its a lot of work i would be keen to reclaim a lot of my bank charges.first of all i had a buisness account with first trust bank northern ireland( the account is now closed so can i still claim?) i might not have all my statements but if i send them the £10 charge do you think they will send them to me so that i can add up all the charges? i know this will be quite an amount as they were charging me if my memory is right £6 every 2 days plus more at being overdrawn over and above the agreed overdraft limit. the second account i would like to claim on was from mbna a credit card from alliance and leicester.this might be more difficult because i got into a lot of bother with it getting into diffs up to £10000 and finding it hard to make the payments.but eventually through divorce and remortgage got it all paid up.problem is i might not still have the account number and this account is now closed as well so can i still get my statements and if so how? this is my first post so treat me gentle lol!!!
