  1. Seeing as the bank charges seem to be on hold for a while, thought I would tackle my credit card charges instead. Has anybody got any advice on dealing with Nationwide credit card? And which address do I use to ask for a list of all the charges applied to my cc account? Many thanks.
  2. Hi there, I am still finding it really confusing about interest. Can somebody please tell which spreadsheet to use or which rate of interest to use on my LBA letter ? I didnt ask/show any interest atall in my Prelim letter just my charges, so should I just carry on just asking for my charges back as I have started this way and if I can I still charge the 8 % interest rate when it comes to the court stage? Many thanks - really keen to get my letter off today as had their first fob off letter on 17 May 2007.
  3. Thanks for your reply. Not really sure - just been reading different threads and in the LBA letter it says 'the amount plus overdraft interest'. So was worried I had missed something.
  4. Hi there, Just a bit confused about interest and what to claim and when to claim it. Basically so far I have got my list of charges from Nationwide and sen tthem my first letter just asking for all my charges back (amounted to £1912) with no interest mentioned and got a letter back saying very politely No. Is it okay still to proceed without mentioning any interest? Or have I messed up already? Or can I add the interest amount into my next letter asking for the money back? Thank you so much.
  5. Hi there, Its so encourgaging to read that people have got their money back. I'm still finding it all a bit daunting. Can you tell me which address did you use for your 'Letter before Action'? I have had my first refusal but dont know where to send this letter. Still really confused about interest too. My initial list of claims which just purely for the charges and no interest what so ever. Do you think this is ok? Many thanks for any help or advice.
  6. Hi there, Just sent my initial claim letter of for £1900 and got a very polite letter back basically saying No. ( I presume this is the usual that everybody is talking about it?) But they suggest if I am not happy to contact the Financial Ombudsman. I dont know whether to try this route or carry on with the letters? Has anybody else tried the financial Ombudsman? Thank you in advance for any help or advice.
  7. Many thanks. I had read the FAQ pages but quite a while ago. I have started to complete the spreadsheet but 1 other quick question, over the years Nationwide have refunded the odd charge here and there. Should I work out which ones they have refunded and not list those atall or list the charge and their subsequent refund? Thanks again.
  8. Hi there, I have just received a list of all the charges to my account with the Nationwide and in with the unpaid direct debits fees etc they also list the interest charges to the account. Can I claim these or should I just add the actual fees and asked for that back? Thank you.
  9. Hi there, I have been reading an awful alot about unfair bank charges etc and was directed to this website via Motley Fool (who also gives lots of helpful hints on getting out of debt, best deals etc). So I signed on and as this my first official visit and I thought I should do as suggested and Say Hi! But not really knowing what to write next! Read somebody else's 'thread' and thought 'OK. I can do this'. Is is so great to find a website like this which tells us our rights and gives us the courage to stand up and do something about it. So many thanks and I am now going to start writing to my bank and credit card companies and I will keep you posted on how it goes. A bit nervous about it all but it looks as though I might have found some support.
